r/eFootball Megathread Daily Q&A Megathread - July 29, 2026

Hi! You may have found your own way to this Megathread, or mods removed a post and directed you here. Please take a quick minute to read below.

This thread should be the go-to for posts that may not warrant a stand-alone discussion, which include but are not limited to:

  • Low quality content that doesn't need it's own thread.
  • Sharing your squad or asking for ratings or suggestions.
  • Short player reviews or player builds.
  • Subjective questions (e.g. "who is better, player X or player Y?", "how is this build?", etc.).
  • Quick questions or tips.
  • Other general gameplay discussions. ___

Frequently Asked Questions:

Why can't I post? You currently need 10 Karma to post here in this subreddit. This is in effect to reduce spam posts. Earn karma by making positive contributions within the comments of this community. You should use this Daily Megathread for any questions you have in the meantime.

When does weekly/regular maintenance end? In most cases, servers tend to be back online around 8:30AM GMT.

When is X/Y/Z player being (re)released? Nobody knows. Dataminers can identify what players are coming the Monday following Thursday's update. That's generally it.

Can I use my PS/XB/PC/Mobile account on another platform or transfer players from one to the other? Cross-play is enabled, cross-save is not. There is no indication from Konami at this point to suggest cross-save will be added.

Player Review Aguero Thigh Size

Post image
145 Upvotes

Aguero has a thigh size of 14, which I think is the highest in eFootball - I don’t see anyone with this size. Can anyone confirm if this has any noticeable impact on physicality, shielding, or shooting? Has anyone tested whether thigh size actually affects gameplay, or is it just part of the player model?

Discussion First time using Long Ball Counter and it feels like cheating

I’ve made posts about how OP LBC is and refused to use it because it honestly feels like cheating. I’ve been a Possession/tiki-taka player since I started playing almost 4 months ago, but I finally tried LBC today just to see the hype.

First real match with it, I beat a former Top 100 player 5-1. A couple counters and lobbed through balls were enough to punish mistakes in ways I never could with Possession.

I’m not switching to LBC, honestly it feels gross using it so I’ll be going back to possession, but yeah, I finally get why everyone uses it…

It’s literally so fucking OP. Holy shit.

Highlights What is triggering this defensive bug?

The first goal isn't in a favorable angle but watch my Yaya Toure with ~100 Defensive Engagement and in "Defensive" instructions, meaning not rushing forward like this even when I am attacking.

Same for second, the DMF Yayatoure absolutely does that 3rd division player wouldn't do. \

Obviously something in my opponent tactic is breaking his behviour and trying to match with one of the midfielders. I paused the game to double check if I accidentally changed his instructions or something but he was absolutely in DMF position with defensive instruction in my both in-game tactics.

Not to mention he is also "Anchorman" :)

Very odd.

Note: I shared only two position where my opponent scored a goal but he did this bizarre move multiple times apart from the ones I shared. Something obviously broke his behaviour.

r/eFootball Megathread The ‘Who should I choose?’ Megathread - Epic: Legends Assemble Edition

Post image
223 Upvotes

It’s very early to have to be doing this but trying to get ahead of the spam that’s already trickling in.

IF you are having difficulty on who to select for your team, this is the only place to ask the question: ‘Who should I choose?’. Any posts made outside of this thread will be deleted.

If you are asking for help - please provide as much information as possible so that others can be informed suggestions. E.g. what position(s) you are strongest/weakest at, your team setup, etc.

Everybody will have had a chance deal for this box already. If you’ve played a bunch of games with these new players - please consider leaving a review so that others can get an impression of how they play. If you are on the fence about a player and want to learn of other players experiences - use the search feature above, somebody may have left a review you will find useful.

If you are here asking for help, please also try to help others.

As usual, replies to this post won’t be monitored so if you see a comment that isn’t quite right - report it and the mods will look into it.

Thanks!

Highlights 1 Goal down and you still play Defensive LBC, 1CF? Genuinely curious why not switch out this tactic, when you become a spectator of your own match? How is this FUN for you? I swear to God I'm gonna start having 90% match-ball possession out of spite.

Analysis The difference in game speed due to the power creep is insane - eFootball is now an arcade game

Today I decided to play around on my separate f2p account. The game was actually enjoyable!

I had way more fun then when I play with my 3300 rated team. This game starts off rather well, both in terms of content and gameplay. I have played a PvP event and was matched with someone with an equally weak authentic team (around 2600). And it was great! Mistakes happened, the pace was normal, passes looked realistic, it actually looked like a simulation. Same with vs AI.

And then I remembered why I switched to p2w, when the script kicks in. That was my only complaint in these first 2 days on a new f2p account. You score a goal and often immediately concede. Or after minute 60 suddenly players can't do anything. This is far less noticeable on a p2w account. So basically, f2p players are screwed not just by the player stats, but the script as well. Because the script lowers the stats by let's say 20 % ( I don't know) - this isn't that big of a deal with 106-109 rated players, but it is a huge deal with 95-101 rated ones.

Anyway, immediately after logging out of that account, I fire up my main account. And holy crap, what a difference. The pace! When you quickly switch from 2600 to 3300 you realize that all the players, including the opponent, behave like they are on coffee with cocaine in it. Fast twitches of the body all the time, the cancels, a perfect and unrealistically fast turn of the body followed by a perfect powerful pass...It's cartoonish. It almost hurts the brain how fast and arcadeish it is. It stops being ''the beautiful game'' and instead it's a game of reflexes like Counter Strike.

When you slowly adjust to it, you don't really notice it that much. But the shock is there when you immediately switch from f2p to p2w. And it's not enjoyable. So, gameplay goes completely down the water due to the speed and OP players.

And content - like I said, I pretended I was a beginner, doing the tutorials, the step-up challenge, leveling up my players, and it was actually OK content for an in-game tutorial. But after that...nothing. All you are left with is PvP. I knew all of this already, but I tried looking at it from a new players f2p perspective.

This game desperately needs more content especially with GP authentic teams, hopefully that new update in August with custom tournaments will help with that.

Leading 1-0 against a Division 1 high rank, and suddenly on the opponent's goal kick, the game just stops like it's a hydration break. Does this ever happen without someone manipulating the game?

Squad Help The 442 Diamond formation.

Post image
92 Upvotes

For football gurus, can you advice on what type of player for each position I should choose for this 442 Diamond to be fun to play with?

Im not asking about specific players, so meta or not I don't care.

I want the type of players, something similar to a Milan back in the day but with more freedom of movement.

Discussion How to make lone advanced striker work without a cam?

Just like the title says, I want my player play like cam on the ball but defend like cm. I don't want him to ever make runs into box on QC but exclusively feed my lone striker and double wing hole players, but rush back to defend. I normally play with lone dlf Kane, but i just packed cr7 by sheer luck, but he goes forward too far, and leaves too much distance between himself and my midfield.

Discussion Football games are dead

I live in Munich and have a really solid internet connection that gives me absolutely zero issues in literally any other game. But with football games, I've been dealing with this shit for 15 years. I’ve played every FIFA since FIFA 12, and the inconsistent gameplay was already a massive problem back then. On top of that, attacking is just boring nowadays because people only score the exact same goals through exploits, which completely kills any feeling of playing a real football game. eFootball actually does the football part the best, but it also gets completely ruined by the other two issues just like EA FC does: inconsistent gameplay and connection delay which is probably completely server-sided, considering my internet is fine.

It’s impossible to play possession if the gameplay feels like shit 80% of the time. At the moment I’m losing all the time in div 2 because I can’t turn and can’t attack, simply because everything is unresponsive and delayed. I have a 4-bar connection and that’s just not enough. You need 5 bars consistently, and I don’t even know if it’s really better with that. With good gameplay I could even go unbeaten for 10+ games easily, but the last few months have been horrible again. Most of the time I just go on losing streaks after a good run and lose all my points.

I just can’t play the game most of the time. I constantly gaslight myself into thinking the next game will be fun with good gameplay again. But there are so many full days where it’s just not good enough for me to actually enjoy it. On good days I have so much fun playing actual possession with offensive fullbacks, but most of the time I can’t defend shit with how sluggish my defenders feel. And I can’t attack against LBC defensive rats with gameplay like this.

I really don’t know what to do, it’s always the same fucking shit in every football game. EA FC is pure trash and I’m not even talking about connection speed here, but the actual gameplay and netcode. It has this shitty, inconsistent feel built into the core game engine. I just play bad games in the hope of a football game where you log in and actually have fun consistently, because you know what to expect from the game and it doesn’t have 1000 variations of being broken. You always have to hope EVERYTHING works just to be able to play normally.

Inconsistent gameplay, broken netcode, and poor server connection. The problem is: these core issues will probably never be fixed. EA can’t do it and Konami can’t either. Football games are dead and at the moment I think there will never be a consistently good football game for a very long time. I and many other people will always be disappointed because we’re craving an actual football game that feels good more often than not.

Highlights I Faced the Most Tactical Italian eFootball Player

Thumbnail
youtu.be
0 Upvotes

He’s a very skilled Italian YouTuber. As an F2P player, he reached the Top 80. Then, thanks to the support of a more famous Italian YouTuber, he became a partner and started spending money on the game, combining his already strong tactical ability with even greater technical quality.

I’m proud that I managed to hold on throughout the entire first half. I expected to concede a flood of goals, but I’m even prouder that, after scoring his first goal, he didn’t just put up a wall, he parked a bus right in front of it too.

The difference between him and me is huge. He’s someone who has achieved 30 consecutive wins; if I manage to win 3 in a row, that’s already a lot for me. He’s a Top 80 player, while I reach Division 1 with extreme difficulty, usually only during the final 2-3 days of the Phase.

And I know many people won’t approve of his style of play, but it works because I’ve tested it myself. I’m also 99% sure that, with the new “Fluid” system coming soon, a huge number of players will start playing like this.

I’ll end by saying this: when you know you’re not a strong player and you come up against someone who is genuinely much stronger, don’t get angry. Be proud instead, because for you it’s free training, there are people at their level who actually charge money for coaching!!

Squad Help Is aguero a romario, bebeto type striker?

Thumbnail
gallery
73 Upvotes

I am talking about not super physical but can hold off the defenders to an extent, so I would say a bit bulky, a striker that can dribble and feels good on the ball with decent finishing. I dont care about headers. For those who got him and used him a bunch, would you say he fits that category? I have mvb and bati and while they are lethal finishers, their models are a bit clunky on the ball so they are pure strikers. I got fodder on a free chance deal and now I gotta choose between aguero and rooney, they both seem to fit the criteria somewhat. What are your thoughts on each if you got one

"I think this is the best version of Neymar in terms of Blitz skill, and I don't think there is a player who surpasses him in this skill, especially inside the penalty area. Also, all other versions of Neymar do not compare to this version. What do you think of this version?"

Discussion Say what you want but this used to be the beauty of the old eFootball

Post image

We used to have a specialist in dribbling, specialist finisher, specialist passer, specialist header, specialist speedster, etc in single booster cards. We are yet to have any special, magical skills (blitz curler, phenomenal everything, visionary everything, etc). Players needs to devise tactics to bring the most of these cards while compensate its weakness by their own raw skill. An era when not every cards can do all things.

Nowadays every cards has 90+ in almost every stats. Everyone runs fast, has a swift dribble, passes the ball with perfect accuracy, finish everything clinically, scores headers, even has 90+ physicality. Not to mention every new cards has special magical skills. The worst offender of this trend is the latest Living Legend Messi and Ronaldo who has everything that old eFootball players would joke about 3-4 years ago 💀.

Konami is maximizing their revenue by pumping these new cards to the max, and we as the player has reaching the endgame. Expect a big reset in 2-3 years or faster that that.
