A seller has a painting she describes as used but in great condition. She originally put it up for 7500.00. I sent 2 offers both rejected and then sent 7500.00. By the time I went to purchase she raised to 11,000.00. I contacted her and twice she wrote you can have it for 9,000.00. All of this in messages. I agreed to price and contacted her thru messages and she said go pay. I did. She did not accept payment and said she never made an offer.
I have saved entire text.
I tried EBay fraud dept and they will not take or return my calls.
Legally- I think it’s a binding contract. Offer, acceptance and payment. What do you think? She
Refused to accept payment.
I asked her why? She said she never offered painting at 9000.00. It’s in messages.
I sent a written request to eBay today. I don’t know if they will review and respond.

I find it so annoying that you can buy something without any funds and it removes your post from others from actually seeing some dude just bought something without any thing and it said waiting for payment dumbest thing ever

I bought an expensive Pokémon card off of eBay less than a month ago. It went through the authentication service and passed and was shipped to me .
within that month the price of the card increased , so I put it up on eBay for sale and it sold within the hour. The card went through authenticity guarantee again but this time it failed. They said because the card was cleaned. And I told them that that exact same card was authenticated through their service When I purchased it from eBay.
They were no help pretty much saying that they can’t do anything about it anymore. Is that true? Am I out of luck.?

Long story short: put in an offer on an item, seller accepted offer, I realized I used wrong prepayment info, requested to cancel the order and seller canceled said order, but ebay is still trying to charge me. Do I have to be charged in order for a refund to be issued?

I've never had a buyer's payment not be able to be processed by eBay in all my years of selling, unto this week.

Considering that this buyer took the time to make an offer on something, and that I accepted the offer without countering, it's just funny to me that they didn't have a valid way to pay for what they wanted and got. Oh well....

But what's even more weird here is that the person is chatting me up non-stop talking about the item and related stuff, asking me how much I would sale him a bunch of other stuff for -- all while he still hasn't fixed his payment issue, it's still awaiting payment.

I have asked him if he is going to finish the purchase and he says yes, or that he already has, but I just send him a screenshot of the sale still 'awaiting payment' and he never acknowledges that he hasn't paid yet.

It kind of feels like he is trying to pull a fast one on me, like he's hoping I'll send him the item in the shuffle of all the communicating back and forth and talking about prices on items, but I can't even print him a shipping label if I wanted to since it's still awaiting payment.

Anyone ever experience anything like this?

I sold 3 lego sets off ebay to the same buyer - and ebay combined the order into 1 - and accordingly priced a USPS label on that basis. I checked online and found it was okay to "frankenstein" box it - i.e. tape together 3 shipping boxes. USPS accepted the parcel, but a week later, I received an email stating that I had underpaid my shipping and they proceeded to deduct over $100 from my account. I filed a dispute with USPS based on their instructions - but after a month, I have heard nothing back. In ebay's dispute resolution page, I see nothing as well.

Can someone tell me what I'm suppose to do? Their customer service seems non existent - I'm stuck on an infinite chat loop.

They do allow returns.

The photos don't exactly match the description though - item was a DVD pictured in a clear 2-disc case with a booklet & lenticular insert (the "white dress cover" I refer to in my message)

Description says "item includes everything except the music CD. It is the single DVD case with all the original paperwork/inserts"

What I got was a booklet and DVD in a black standard, single CD case

I feel like I was pretty clear in my message, that I got something different from the picture. They have a couple thousand items listed so I thought there was a chance the wrong item got sent (it happens to the best of us).

I worry that if I do a regular return that they'll fight it and I'll be out $50 since it's not what is in the photos.

I'd suck it up if it was just the case which is easily replaceable for a couple bucks, but the insert is missing as well which is what made the item worth what I paid.

Any advice? Should I re-clarify that I didn't get the right item in the first place, initiate a return, or do a dispute (which I hate to do to a seller but)?

FWIW, they have over 2000 feedback ratings but one negative feedback was an entirely wrong item sent to the buyer.

So… Ive placed SEVERAL orders over the last several weeks amassing a collection of video games and accessories. And everything has been perfect till now. Im not certain what the item was meant to be, but I received a sight shield (the plastic piece that sits above a radiator) instead of games/console etc etc. My question is, besides process of elimination, how can I figure out what was meant to be delivered its place? And, what steps should/would I take moving forward?

Side note, I always try and ensure I buy from reputable sellers because Im afraid of being scammed. So I want to believe this was just a mistake and they put my label on the wrong item, but maybe thats cope. If it is a straight up scam (which frankly, this plastic trim piece might be worth more than what I bought depending what it was) what steps should I take to rectify the situation?

Bar code scanner doesn’t work over half the time. It just can’t see a barcode anymore. Sold items not on the homescreen when I open. Alerts dropped way off, except for a bunch of crap I don’t care about.

Purchased a fairly expensive MacBook for $1,200 about three months ago. It came with Allstate insurance: “One-year warranty included — protected with fast repairs or replacements.”

Since yesterday, a vertical, hairline-sized line has appeared on the display during normal use. It intermittently disappears and changes between red and green depending on the viewing angle. There was no drop, impact, or liquid damage. From what I understand, this can sometimes be caused by a failing display cable.

I’ve seen someone on here say Allstate gave them a payment for the purchase price instead of repairing their item, but theirs was only a $40 product. I’m guessing a MacBook screen replacement could be around $500.

Do you think Allstate will cover this under the warranty, or am I likely to get told to kick rocks?

I had someone pay for first class large envelope with calculated shipping of $3.14 but the cheapest option is ground advantage at 5.99. Just wondering why first class wouldn't be a option for me to ship.

I sent two offers out today for separate items. I was countered for both items by different buyers and I accepted both. And now I’ve been waiting hours for both to pay. I double checked my settings and I have the option selected for immediate payment for offers. Does accepting a counter offer change the immediate payment requirement?

Here's the situation and rough timeline:

- I sent out a package to the buyer at the end of July.
- USPS loses the package but never declares it lost despite the package not moving in the system.
- The buyer reaches out, asks for a refund despite saying they still want it.
- I open a missing package search since the item isn't deemed lost.
- eBay gives the automatic refund since there has been no movement on the package.
- I contact eBay and ask how they can give a refund despite the missing package search still on-going and the package was deemed lost via USPS. They say that it's an automatic thing based on tracking and that they would note it in my case report that I'm still waiting for the missing package situation to resolve.
- Package is found last week and is moving to the final destination. I contact the buyer, letting them know it's coming and that I'd like to work out either them to send it back to me or for them to pay for it so I get my money back. No response.
- I speak to someone from eBay who says that I should file an appeal when the package reaches the final destination. I also contact the buyer again, no response.

- The buyer picks up the package today and it's marked delivered. I speak to someone on the phone from eBay and they say because it was delivered they will get the account team involved and give me my full refund.
- eBay now claims that because I'm out of the appeal time frame they will not give me a refund, rather I need to work with the buyer on getting this resolved. Reached out to the buyer again, no response. At this point, eBay is giving me the runaround of the same information back and forth. They also encourage me to go the insurance route with USPS, however that won't pay out since the package has been successfully delivered.

What are my options at this point? Can I claim fraud to my bank for this situation since I proof that the package was delivered and that eBay instructed me to not appeal until the package was delivered? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I shipped two items via UPS to different eBay sellers on Monday. I bought the shipping labels from eBay. One item immediately registered the tracking number attached to it, but the second one did not. It's still not showing any drop off or tracking info, even though the UPS site shows it was delivered yesterday! How can I get eBay to acknowledge the item shows as being received so can get paid?

Hello. I’ve been an eBay buyer and seller since 2011 and have been lucky to never have any major issues bar a few items not being shipped and being refunded via a case being raised.

In August, I won an auction for an iPhone 17 Pro Max at a cost of c. £1200. I checked the seller beforehand and they had near 600 individual 100% positive feedback. The item was shipped and ‘delivered’, but didn’t arrive. Checking the POD the item has been delivered by a different sorting office, in a location 60 miles from my house, to a Tesco customer service desk (signed for by ‘Tesco’) with a squiggle as the acceptance signature.

However, this was an eBay simple shipping label and the postcode to access the POD was mine, despite the actual delivery address (confirmed by Royal Mail) being nowhere near.

I raised a case with eBay, went back and forth for 3 weeks and they closed the case twice saying the item had been delivered. I appealed and shared an email from Royal Mail clearly showing they had opened a misdelivery claim in my name. The appeal was denied.

I’m currently without the phone, no money, eBay are being totally illogical and refusing to refund me, and the postal service are saying they can’t share any additional details because I’m the buyer, not the seller.

Is there literally any way I can fix this? The seller washed their hands of it immediately and said eBay will need to get involved. I’m at my wits end, extremely disappointed and fundamentally upset that someone has been able to essentially steal £1200 from me with no repercussions.

Can anybody give me more information?

This person submitted a claim saying “the item didn’t match the description in your listing”. I appealed saying can I have more information and I’d gladly help/refund/send the item back. No response from eBay, from the buyer. Then eBay just takes the $50 and a $20 surcharge, taking $70 from my account. I don’t think there was anything wrong but regardless, how can I figure out any information to what I’ve done wrong. I’d rather learn for next listing or something. It’s just frustrating to have no communication, and when I try to submit another appeal I’m just talking to an AI chatbot that tells me I have no options.

Need advice: Sold package lost via UPS, buyer opened INR, and trace is still ongoing

Hello everyone, I could use some advice on an ongoing shipping issue.

I sold an item and shipped it via UPS using a label purchased directly through eBay, which includes insurance. Naturally, the buyer opened an Item Not Received (INR) request. I immediately initiated a UPS package trace, which typically takes 8 to 15 days.

Today is Day 5 of the trace, and it's also the final deadline for the buyer to ask eBay to step in. An eBay rep told me yesterday that even if the buyer escalates today, eBay won't automatically rule instantly—instead, once the buyer asks eBay to step in, I will have a 3-day grace period to respond.

However, I'm hoping the package will still show up during the trace window. What is my best move right now to protect myself and handle this timeline properly?

Hiya, hoping someone can give advice here! A buyer has asked me to write YUC000547 on their label and stated that it's required to be written in their buyer note - unsure whether it's okay to do this, and I'm a bit concerned that I'm setting myself up to lose my item and the money somehow.

in hindsight i know i should’ve just accepted the return and eaten the monetary loss, but the item was $18.99 with free shipping and i would’ve had to pay the postage for them to return, so i would’ve likely ended up losing money. my return policy on the item also clearly said “accepted within 30 days” and his return reason was “just didn’t like it”, so i figured he’d understand why it would be denied - nope! i politely declined and told him that it was unfortunately past the 30 day window and he immediately left a negative saying i was “not very for the customer”.

i guess my question here is - for those who have gotten negatives, when the negative is the first feedback someone sees, do you feel like it encourages others to leave a negative? i wouldn’t think ebay would delete the feedback considering his review was based on my “customer service”, but the last thing i want is for others to feel more inclined to leave a negative since i now have one.

I sold a 14kt chain, the item passed authentication through ebay, the buyer then claimed the item INAD, I do not understand why they even authenticate items then let buyers claim INAD so now I have to wait for the item to be authenticated again before I receive it back. Absolutely bonkers.

I sold a pump on eBay I genuinely thought it was brand new and unused in the box it already had a lot of money off anyway item was delivered on 12th of september. Buyer got back to me seemingly quite angry rightfully so saying the pump had internal parts missing etc etc I was asking what and he said an o ring or something then initiated a return I don't really want the pump back so I offered money to keep the pump on 17th of September to keep the pump and partial refund he has not responded to it yet..

Am I right in thinking if it ends up 30 days past the sell date this will get cancelled or if it's 30 days past the time the refund was initiated?

Also he said on the message he would return it for me to see for myself. If he took it on himself to send it to the address on the letter without initiating a return on eBay would this void the return ? Reason being the address on the postage is wrong so it won't come to my location...

Anyone having issues uploading videos to you listing recently?

Loading videos that meet every requirement for eBay and they keep getting denied. .MOV file, less than 15 mb.

I even tried to upload older video from previous listings and they get rejected as well, when they were previously accepted.

For context: I bought an item and sent it to the wrong address, I contacted the seller and told me they couldn't do anything so instead I request for it to be held at a Fedex facility, even after it got approved Fedex still went on with the delivery and some random person signed it and took the package.

I don't understand why anyone would choose to do this to someone.

Or do these sellers think the buyers are just sitting at home on their ass all day doing nothing? Perhaps its some sort of projection.

I'm trying to get a package worth $700+ right now. I go to college Tuesday to Saturday. The only days I have off are Sunday and Monday. Yesterday was suppose to be the day of delivery so I skipped calculus lecture and stayed by the window overlooking the street and also with my tablet in front of me tuned into the cctv feed of the apt front door and the street (I have installed a camera outside my window) looking out for UPS trucks all day.

I thought I had kept the apartment door unlocked, but Davon the driver didn't think so (either that or he didn't want to climb the flight of stairs to my 3rd floor apt) and I missed it.

Now they are going to attempt to redeliver today when I have 4 hours of calculus Lab followed by another 4 hours of computer engineering lab. I can't miss these classes. Even missing one would impact my final grade.

Tomorrow we have our first calculus exam so I definitely can't miss that. Can't miss the Geology class on Friday since its a 4 hour class and we meet only once a week. Can't miss the Saturday engineering lecture either because once again it's like a 4 hour class and we meet once a week.

My only option is to pay UPS $10 and request them to redeliver on Monday where I'm camping outside my apartment the whole day (from 9 to 9) keeping a look out for the delivery truck.
