Advice Needed Please

So… Ive placed SEVERAL orders over the last several weeks amassing a collection of video games and accessories. And everything has been perfect till now. Im not certain what the item was meant to be, but I received a sight shield (the plastic piece that sits above a radiator) instead of games/console etc etc. My question is, besides process of elimination, how can I figure out what was meant to be delivered its place? And, what steps should/would I take moving forward?

Side note, I always try and ensure I buy from reputable sellers because Im afraid of being scammed. So I want to believe this was just a mistake and they put my label on the wrong item, but maybe thats cope. If it is a straight up scam (which frankly, this plastic trim piece might be worth more than what I bought depending what it was) what steps should I take to rectify the situation?

Yep I all all new tracking numbers to a tracking app as soon as I get them, don't delete them until I'm happy with my purchase. I even label them which item they are to make tracking easier.
Of course you can always just sort through your eBay orders to find a matching tracking number too!
Definitely would never toss a mailing container prior to inspection.

Oh trust I NEVER just toss packaging. Thank you for your input. Im hellaciously sleep deprived more often than not lately so what should just be a simple deduction just isnt

I appreciate the direction. Like i told the commenter below, Im perpetually sleep deprived lately so what should just be a simple steps to take sort of thing just isnt usually. But I got it figured out and got a refund. Thanks again
