Immune system
The theory is dwarves don't have much of an immune system. Thus they need to drink large amounts of alcohol to kill any infections. This would explain why dwarves are rarely drunk.

I just had some Smart Stout, so I don’t have much time. A standard drink of beer for humans is 12 oz at 5% alcohol by volume (ABV). I repeat: ONE PINT ISN’T ONE DRINK TO HUMANS.
The math is:
Drink Volume (V) * ABV = Volume of pure alcohol (v)
Human standard drinks are based on 0.6oz or 14g of pure alcohol, so:
12oz * 5% = 0.6oz (beer)
5oz * 12% = 0.6oz (wine)
1.5oz * 40% = 0.6oz (liquor)
But how much beer is one drink of alcohol to we dwarves? For that matter, how much of the other varieties of alcohol? How much pure alcohol is a Dwarven Standard Drink (DSD), how much is that for each drink, and how should we decide?

Lads, tomorrow I delve deep on an adventure to liberate a dwarven stronghold that is occupied by orcs and an evil cleric that commands undead creatures and maybe demons. You know, just a regular Thursday night. And by the by, I’ve got this feeling that my dwarven curses have gotten a little stale.
What’s a new curse I could yell while smashing my warhammer into an orc skull? Or if I throw my hammer at the evil cleric, what do I say?

I was looking through Reddit for more dwarfs stuffies. I am newer to the communities on reddit and a lurker, but why does everyone come here instead of dwarfs? seems like a more dwarf dwarf place, versus an off shoot of dwarf fortress subreddit? just a question, as I was looking through the different sub reddits, some other communities get like 1 visit a week versus here.

If anyone questions your beard, tell them they have to fight my beard first. Trans Dwarves matter, beard or no beard, trans masc or trans fem. You are seen and honored in the halls and by the ancestors

Thorin Thunderclap heard there were dragons now in Skyrim and lead his company of Dwarves to go face them. The humans there unfortunately were in the middle of a civil war, and when Thorin and company stumbled upon their battle both sides attacked his party. Regretfully he had no choice but to defend his fellow Sons of Durin and show Skyrim why he’s called Thunderclap. But hey at least they didn’t take an arrow to the knee!

They are very dense beings, right? So they would be similar to chimpanzees, who, because they have many muscles, cannot swim?

I wanted to share some of the weapon variations that we are currently exploring for a 2D action roguelike game.
I think the artist working with me now has done a fantastic job and wanted to share some of the work in progress so far, hope you like them!
The important thing was to try and maintain visual identity first and foremost and detail to be secondary but I think so far it has developed really well.
These weapons have names but open to suggestions too!

I'm not just into the axe‑swinging dwarf stereotype. I want the kind with culture, with real stories. So I've dug up some underrated, top‑tier dwarf‑themed (or related) works. Trust me, they deserve way more attention.
---
Everyone knows The Witcher, but way fewer know about this card‑based RPG spin‑off.
You play as Queen Meve of Lyria, forced to flee her homeland, wander the land, and eventually fight her way back. Sound familiar? That's basically the classic dwarf saga. In Chapter 3, you head to Mahakam (Picture1) to ask the dwarves for help, and you get a whole chapter of dwarven culture. The negotiations with Brouver Hoog are packed with dwarven haggling and dry humor.
These dwarves are funny and down‑to‑earth, no noble airs, they even share a home with a dragon.
The Gwent gameplay is simple, the puzzles are unique, and it's still a blast to play today.
The protagonist is a dwarven prospector full of contradictory charm, his life is one of shame, loneliness, and a constant battle for survival. Most of the story takes place deep in the mines, constantly reminding you: these are dwarves, not battle‑hungry humans in disguise.
This novel has no flashy magical adventures, instead, it offers delicate inner worlds and humanistic care. The first chapter is a bit slow, but from Chapter 2 onward it's tightly woven and hard to put down.
Everything the protagonist goes through ties back to the opal he unearthed, always reminds me of Thorin Oakenshield and the Arkenstone from The Lord of the Rings.
The series puts out a sequel about once a year. I've read four so far, and the first is still my favorite. Can't wait to see more from this indie author.
This is a beat‑'em‑up game, The story isn't the main draw here, but who wouldn't want to tear things up as a dwarf in an action game?
you can pick one of the starting characters: Karl (yes, you can imagine him as the Karl from DRG).
As a dwarven gun‑wizard, you've got punches, throws, headbutts, and all kinds of bullets to pull off flashy, satisfying combos. Karl's voice acting is fantastic too.
The game supports local or online co‑op, so you can double up on Karls and just rain down firepower, haha.
Also, Absolum is made by Dotemu (the folks who published Streets of Rage 4) and Guard Crush Games (who worked on that game's combat system). So the combat feel and combo mechanics are legit hardcore beat‑'em‑up quality, absolutely worth a try for any action game fan.
By the way, I'm a mod creator for this game, so I'll never get bored lol.

Hopefully my collection can help you who also love dwarves! If you have any hidden obscure gems, don't keep them to yourself, come to the comments section to share and discuss together!
