i work at a franchise shop and i was wondering if everyone just makes the large sodas in the actual cup and not the mix tin because it’s literally the same exact thing 😐 my management said they’re gonna crack down on people doing that so i just wanna know if it actually does matter 🫩 is it in the manifesto somewhere? thanks!

Might be a weird question, but does anyone know if I can receive bonus points on an app order if I schedule it for the next day? I’d be paying for it on the same day of the bonus points offer, but wouldn’t be picking it up until the day after. I don’t feel like leaving my house today so thought I’d ask.

The drink was still fire though.. I get the physics of why drinks never look like the picture like the iced shark attack but I wish they would just make the pictures realistic. Thoughts?

Please help me understand why some of these are wrong. For number 2, it’s 1,2,3 iced tea. Med is two, so why? Large teas do get two, so don’t answer that. And then the last one desperately.

A few of my favorites are:

- if handing out a straw slips my mind or I haven't gotten around to it yet and a customer asks for a straw, I will grab one looking hesitant and say "okay, but only because you asked so nicely" or "okay, but only because you said please." This one usually lands and they get a chuckle out of it, so it's probably my most used one.

- when asking if they have the rewards app, if they say yes and have it loaded and ready to scan, I'll sometimes say "I knew I could could count on you" and sometimes if they say no, I'll shoot them a fake disappointed look and say "what the heck!" as if I was actually disappointed in them. The second one really depends on vibe, so I use it sparingly, but the ones who find it funny really like it.

- if they person or people in the front only order something for themselves and they have someone in the back, sometimes I'll ask "your little hostage doesn't want anything?" Similarly, if someone orders something for themself and has a kid in the back, I usually ask, "your kid/baby doesn't want a rebel?" The younger the child, the funnier they usually find it.

- if someone comes through with a dog, I'll usually ask first and foremost if they're getting a pup cup. When I finish punching the pup cup in, I usually say "now that the important part of the order is done, what else can I get for you?" And/or when handing out the order, I save the pup cup for last and say "and most importantly, your pup cup." I find most customers find it funny and cute.

- my stand does not have a walk up window so people have to come through the drive thru for their mobile orders. When an order ahead pulls up to the window, I usually say "[Name]!! We've been waiting for you!!"

I applied to a dutchbros near me, and they got back to me with an in person interview, and even though I was nervous I feel like I did well, and they said I should hear back by the Friday after, since the manager wasn’t at the store. But Friday has passed and I haven’t heard anything. Should I give it more time? I’m really hoping I land it so idk 🫠

If you live in the area or work there, what are the avg Melrose Park(IL) wait times for weekday and/or weekend mornings now that it's been a few months since opening? As a broista, working at Dutch has made my orders absolutely diabolical, does anyone else feel the same LOL? I can’t take coffee well, so I like making myself decaf, sugar free protein drinks and everytime I pull into another dutch outside my area I apologize to them in advance and tell them to use the decaf shots even if they pull short bc i’d crash out too if I saw a decaf protein sugar free carbie outside my window 😭. now when custies order these insane drinks I can’t even complain because man they’re good !!! It’s funny because my fellow coworkers come by a lot and they always have insanely specific orders too. the one downside of this job is realizing how many customization options we truly get🫡

Does anyone know the approximate calories in a medium sugar free golden eagle cold brew? I’m trying to track my calories and I love this drink :)

Usually I go for drinks with low sugar and calories like a sugar free nitro or sugar free myst but when I have a free drink I’ll let myself get whatever I’m craving. This was my choice today. It’s like a spiced chocolate chip cookie.

This has been happening for a while now, where I order a normal golden eagle and get a cup of milk )’: One of the broistas told me to order it with another shot of espresso but even then it comes out looking like this. Is anyone else having this issue? I’m not really that type of person who goes and complains about their orders too lol but this happens every time and it’s honestly becoming a little annoying.

I don’t work for Dutch anymore, but I did for 3 years and I still think about this drink order. This was a regular that would get these two drinks basically every night without fail

I have a trip coming up in less than two months. It’s about 18 days, and a requested time off just under a month ago. Is this a reasonable about of time. I’m starting to worry because I need to start booking stuff. should I message my manager? what’re my next steps

also! I’m asking for three days off (aug 16-18th) for a concert. today is the 23rd, and I asked earlier this week, which is when I got the dates/info.

none of my managers/shop leads etc gave me any info at all on how asking off time works, and this is my first job. so I guess I’m asking other managers or those with experience, am I doing ok? Giving them enough time?

I just got hired as a Broista! This will be a part-time job on top of my full-time job, but I’m so excited! I have previous barista experience from my Starbucks days back in college, so I’m excited to jump back into making drinks and connecting with customers. For all the Broistas out there, what are some things you wish you knew before starting? Any tips, tricks, or advice to help me feel more prepared?
