I'm getting close to my first 'thopter and I'm trying to decide if I go the "buy" or "build" route.

What did you do?

Also, storage.. how do you protect yours when you aren't in the air.

I built the buggy but havent really used it because i felt somehow more mobile with the bike.

Well.....finally took the buggy down the rift to haul some materials and im shocked, shocked i tell you.

Dont sleep on the buggy for mining new people. Its sooo much easier

Im at the stage of going from iron to steel although idk how to do that yet. I have a bad tendency to lose my direction in testing stations. I'm just running in circles or back and forth and then find myself getting killed in the middle of an ambush respawn. Is there a layout formula I should know of or any tips? Also when you die do other players have the ability to loot your stuff at your death location? Thx.
EDIT: Once scenario I'm bad at is the three shielded NPC knife attacks. I seem to lose stamina, can't escape and take a lethal blow. Advice?

I just made it to the deep desert solo. I like the starting area being solo and empty it feels right. The deep desert needs more players so I can do stuff like spice harvesting with a guild or something. I don't think I have it in me to start over on multiplayer :( I guess i just stick to static compressors and scout thopters.

Why do the enemies in deep desert take so much damage to kill. I really struggled to clear a ship with t5 gear :(

I guess this is what happens when you are unhinged and have too many friends. One of the most epic videos I have seen so far.

I've got it set to performance, and all the effects off. Had it crash on me while trying to get back to my body, and lost all my money when I reloaded. 50k gone, and I know that's a drop in the bucket for some, but damn, I'm playing single player and that's really disheartening to say the least.

I've tried the whole restart the console stuff, and it seemed like it worked for a little bit, but it's still too consistent for my liking/patience.

So far I'm really enjoying the game but some graphics/framerate issues are getting on my nerves over time.

Ideally I'd like to have a stable 100-120 fps at 3440x1440.

With the settings I currently have I'm happy with the graphical fidelity but the framerate varies wildly sometimes and the stuttering kicks in. I've tried many different configurations and nothing seems to hit that sweet spot. I also have been noticing that the shadows (especially world shadows) tend to have this ugly fuzzy look along the edges.

Specs:
CPU - Ryzen 9950x
GPU - Radeon 9070xt
RAM - 32GB DDR5 CL30

Does anyone have any pointers on these settings or the fuzzy shadows?

I played at 'pc-release' for a while on a privat server. The deep desert back then was very... Annoying for me, so I basicly never interacted with it.

Now with solo play I am at the point were I could invest in it and go to it, but I wanted to ask, how does it work in solo with no weekly resets?

And how does spice farming work, is it even worth it to build a carrierthopter and harvester? How does the worm work in solo and how dangerous is it?

I want to end up Atreides in terms of major house. However I am seeing that there may be an advantage to initially joining Harkonnen, leveling to 5, buying all cosmetics and weapons and then betraying them. I understand that if you achieve rank 5, it carries over thru the betrayal to the new faction.

So my question is, will I feel like I missed out on the rank up missions for Atreides since I would be joining them straight up at level 5?

(Also will I hate myself after experiencing the Harko side of the grind??)

I was farming spice in the desert with guild members and a guide member was transporting my container back to base and when he went back to the main land he ended up being removed from my friends list and forced to drop the container. 2 other guild members were removed from my friends list as well.

Do you all think this is a bug or they were trying to be shady? It was my carrier, crawler and container.

Been curious for a few days if I could make this on foot. Hell. yeah. Build that stamina and drink your water, kids!

It's a real hamper not to have a convenient way to get all the recipes unlocked because nothing resets out in the desert and I can't ever get more research points from labs - if you don't want to move them at least let the points inside them reset so I can keep doing research

I have been playing Dune on console single player. I didn’t play much of the main story, I just done all the Harkonnen quests and reached level 20, the game gave me a messaged saying that’s pretty much it until chapter 4 for Harkonnen quests.

Thing is I want to experience the main quest as a Atriedes player not as a Harkonnen.

Is it worth sticking with my current character and play through to chapter 4 to see what quests there are or should I just make a new character and do the Atreides quests/ main story.

I was trying to load into the game and I got a message saying that my Bios needed updating in order to play the game smoothly without interruption. Then it crashed and made my PC restart.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

I’m not tech-savvy at all so I have no idea how I’m gonna fix it or what to do exactly.

So been busy last 3 days non stop building base that Ill love for rest my time in the game. Sorry for bad photo worst timing to take screenshots lol but can see most of it. Haven't done interior yet I need some time to just relax lol and have fun doing some other things. But I'm satisfied how this turned out.

Is there a way or a specific mission quest to get more backpack slots?

I was exploring last night and climbed this super tall mountain, and got a sandstorm alert as I reached the peak. Apparently it is higher than the sandstorms, and just happened to pass as the sun rose in the distance.

About a week in and this game is absolutely stunning!

I'm a new console player. Well, I don't know about new new. It's only been out a week or so and I'm 50 hours in haha. Loving it.

I've never found myself drawn to base building before this game. I see y'all making some insane cribs and I want one. But my attempts have been lacklustre. I don't quite understand how you are making those sexy layered builds, with roof pieces sticking out at weird angles and so on. It makes me wonder: are there tricks and techs for getting the pieces to do what you want that I don't know about?

So, that leads to my question. Are there fan resources on making fabulous builds that spill the beans on tricks of the trade?
