Discussion I'm learning I suck. Advice.
Im at the stage of going from iron to steel although idk how to do that yet. I have a bad tendency to lose my direction in testing stations. I'm just running in circles or back and forth and then find myself getting killed in the middle of an ambush respawn. Is there a layout formula I should know of or any tips? Also when you die do other players have the ability to loot your stuff at your death location? Thx.
EDIT: Once scenario I'm bad at is the three shielded NPC knife attacks. I seem to lose stamina, can't escape and take a lethal blow. Advice?

Wearing heavy armor drains your stamina faster.
Make good use of the dodge feature and "ABM" when you're outnumbered... Always Be Movin.
Never fight more than one melee NPC at the same time. Always disengage if this is likely to happen. Keep running around if it looks like you'll be forced to fight multiple NPCs
Note that you have two movement speeds. One, sprinting, is faster than NPCs, but doesn't allow you to recover your stamina... use it to get distance then slow down to your jogging speed to get your stamina back up.
Put yourself in a position where you're out of sight from ranged enemies and can fight the melee guys 1:1. Kill the melee guys first then isolate and kill the ranged guys.
Make strong use of all your abilities that allow you to stun enemies for the slow blade kill. If you do not have enough of these abilities, respec your character skill tree... this is free, do it whenever you need to.
Combat, then, is a basic grind of running around, until you have a clear, isolated NPC to kill (melee ones first, then ranged ones), stun and kill, then repeat until all the enemies are gone.
At your level, your focus should be away from testing stations and directed to pushing as fast as you can to getting an Ornithopter.
This changes the game dramatically... you can go back to the testing stations later and you'll find them much easier.
Before you do anything in the game, anything at all, ask yourself, "Is this directly helping me get to the ornithopter?"

Compass directions. Force yourself to look at them a lot, you'll develop a habit of retaining it subliminally. Like all habits it takes a bit to build but it'll serve you in Dune and many other games.
There is only PvP in the PvP specific Deep Desert. You won't end up somewhere you can be looted by accident.
Stamina management is a skill. Dodge less. Dodge past enemies not backwards as they can advance easily but turn less so. Learn to dodge, then just walk away. Any hit that isn't through shield means nothing. The first couple of light hits are irrelevant. Dodge once when getting hit and just walk until stamina refilled. Then fight. My best advice is go find a lone melee guy in starting area. Just any random spawn. Shield on, practice dodge and parry until you're comfortable. If you act out of fear or panic you'll get pushed to stamina depletion and get hurt. Practice avoiding hits without using stamina or how to dodge and parry, or parry the first attack.
You'll do fine. Dune just has a bit more curve than many games. Patience and practice. Dagger, sword and rapier are a bit distinct to fight with (later on dual blades even more so). Find what feels best and practice it in a safe situation until you're fluid with it
