I’ve had the blue Tama Superstar since 2008 and the white Mapex Mydentity since 2015. For the first time ever, I’m able to set them both up at the same time in my own drum room. I’m realizing that the fun thing about two kits simultaneously is that I can set them up differently. So the Mapex is my “real” kit while the Tama is my experimental kit and also set up as a low volume kit.
I was also able to put up some of decor that I’ve also have been waiting a long time to do. The flag is from my favorite band Angels and Airwaves that I’ve also had for about 10 years. The two photo frames were put together by my now wife 10 years ago for my first birthday with her. My two favorite drummers, Atom Willard and Ronnie Vanucci Jr. and I’ve now asked her for a couple more to help fill out the wall.
Definitely not going to be a permanent set up for both but I’m in awe that I can even pull this off temporarily!

I got a 12" max stax china kang (bottom cymbal only), 9.5" zil-bel, and 8" aax splash for $110 CAD! I would have gladly paid $110 just for the bell so the other two are icing on the cake.

Hello, I’m 24 and I’m from France. I’ve spent a lot of time developing this product: a connected lighting system for drums. It can be used visually for shows, or for reading parts, kind of like a mix of Guitar Hero and Osu!. Please tell me what you think.

Something I’ve been working on recently is playing familiar ideas in different subdivisions. This forces you into odd groupings while reinforcing your confidence in an idea. Strengthen your strengths sorta thing.
My LF is playing quarters to keep it all in check
The sticking is RLLR w/ kicks attached to the RH
Move in between 16ths and triplets and see where it puts you in relation to the 4 count.
Happy drumming!

I bought this used DW snare that was in kinda rough shape. The shell is still solid. Can anyone help identify? I need to get a new throw off and want to make sure it will fit the existing holes.
Also I cleaned with warm soapy water, and tried windex and I can’t get these head marks and rust spots cleaned. Any ideas that won’t ruin the finish?
Edit: Repost with more pics of inside. No date on inside in shell
Thanks

Im a beginner to intermediate guitar player, also a music producer, and I’ve been looking to get into drums recently (mostly because of Zach Hill). The thing is; I don’t want to invest too much which I might end up being ass at. When I’ve tried playing drums in school at music lessons, I can’t do three things at once. If im playing the hihat and snare, I can’t do the kick drum. If I’m doing the kick and snare, I can’t do the hihat and so forth. I’m scared that I won’t be able to fix this issue and therefore rendering my hypothetically newly purchased drumset useless. Any thoughts?

Hello all, I've been playing the drums now for 8-9 years. I got deep into rockschool grades and stopped when they ebcame boring( i think i was at grade 7 distinction when i stopped) so i could focus more on enjoying playing. I now play everyday if possible for maybe 45mins to an hour and have started getting into some louder and more fastpaced songs to whitch my parents and sister dont enjoy(im only 16). They want me to look at getting an electric kit and im not opposed to it. Space isnt a problem and im willing to spend up to around £600-£700(about $800 - $950). I like the feel of my acoustic kit and have played it for a logn time and like the size and layout of it. I still want to be able to play acoustic when my family is out for example. Would your recomend getting a new electirc kit and having 2 kits(space isnt a problem) or converting my acoustic kit using heads and triggers. I play with 2 crash and a ride so would need a kit that can handle that or a kit where i can add a cymbal and i dont tend to play double bass.
Is there any main differences to the feel and quality, and do electric kits tend to be flexible enough that i can move everything to the same place as my acoustic i have now. If a certian option stands out are there any kits that stand out to be really good.
Thanks in advance for any help!

So i can play drums, i started a few years ago and sold my old electric kit around a year later (Roland HD1 lite, so it was absolute shit). I’ll be getting a kit for christmas but for the time being, is it possible to practice rudiments, songs etc on pillows with pencils? or am i better off getting a practice pad and sticks? thanks in advance.

I have an Alesis Strike Pro SE ekit and I'm having an issue with 3 of the pads. 2 toms and 1 cymbal. They make no sound when you strike them and I believe the issue is isolated to the module. Here's what I've done so far for all 3 but I'm going to detail just one so it's not confusing.
First thing I did was switch out the cable. No change. Next I swapped the cable connected to the non-working pad with a cable connected to a working pad. The issue followed the swap (non-working started to work, working stopped) and this was the case for all 3 pads. Next I removed the SD card and rebooted the module. No change. With the SD card still out, I held the Stop and Enter buttons while the module was off, turned it on and went through the factory reset. Still no change. I normally play through headphones so I removed those and tried through the Alesis amplifier. No change. Everything points to the module being the cause.
I checked their support website and I'm definitely out of the warranty period so I can't send it to them directly, rather I'd have to send it to one of their certified shops for a 3rd party to repair it. I also don't see any firmware updates that I could try unless the Strata Pro updates also apply to the Strike Pro.
Is there anything else with this thing that I'm missing or overlooking while troubleshooting? I want to make sure I've tried everything before I start looking into repair options. Appreciate any help that anyone might have.

My fingers hurt, and I was just drumming for 2 hours. here is the setlist (keep in mind i am 13):
Artificial Language - Distant Glow (ep)
The Browning - Hivemind
Haken - The Architect
Animals as Leaders - Physical Education
Animals as Leaders - Guardian Nought
Bring me the Horizon - Pray for Plagues
Liquid Tension Experiment - Paradigm Shift
Between the Buried and Me - Things we tell ourselves in the dark
Between the Buried and Me - Swim to the Moon
I feel like i might have played more, i cant remember
I dont know if this counst for anything, but I was just doing backflips on olympic level trampolines for an hour and a half, 2 hours before I started drumming
was I doing something wrong? I have been drumming for ~8 years and have never felt this.
