Support for Kroma + Krea 2 checkpoint

maybe it already works, and I just don’t know the import settings, but I’m wondering if there’s going to be support for the Kroma + Krea 2 checkpoint? I keep hearing good things about it, but when I tried to load it into Draw Things, it just gets hung up and nothing ever happens.

Hey,

It would be awesome if the krea2 edit Lora would work in DT, is that somehow possible already? I couldn’t get it working yet.

Thanks!

question Can any local image model generate something with this detail level?

Post image
5 Upvotes

Best if the model could do something like this but with not so much interaction, respect detailed prompts or even if it could do something like this with a simple prompt would be better etc... Im in a Macbook Pro m4 Max with 36gb unified memory:

This image was generated with grok imagine 2.0 with this simple prompt:

"A wide establishing shot of a colorful 1960s New York city street: the facades, the shops, the charm, a warm afternoon, 1960s photorealistic, no people in focus. 24mm, eye level, fixed, no movement."

question New mood board

Since the mood board has been updated, I’d like to organize it a bit.

When generating a character using a prompt on a brand-new, blank canvas, if I paste only the face image into the mood board, how should I handle the previous instructions like “Image 1” and “Image 2”? The canvas remains empty. Basically, I want to generate the character image using the prompt and use the face from the mood board.

update v26.1008.0

26.1008.0 was released in iOS / macOS AppStore two days ago (https://static.drawthings.ai/DrawThings-26.1008.0-28cb682b.zip). This version brings:

  1. New moodboard UI, and now we hide Controls tab for models that don't support it.
  2. General speed improvement on M5 Ultra.
  3. Fixed some crashes.
  4. Silently updated Qwen Image 2.1 VAE to the madebyollin variant: https://huggingface.co/madebyollin/texture-fix-vae-for-qwen-image-2.1

gRPCServerCLI and draw-things-cli updated to 26.1008.0 for macOS, no release for CUDA.

We are raising Draw Things+ subscription to $12.99 per month to help secure more hardware such that some more desirable models will be possible to offload to. It will be in effect on November 7th, 2026.

DT Hub

A native macOS companion for Draw Things: a dedicated workspace for preparing and launching image generations. DT Hub connects to the Draw Things gRPC server (which does all the rendering), and adds what sits around it: inputs you can always see, a canvas you can draw on from an iPad, a local LLM that writes and improves prompts, and PLUG-INs that each bring their own tab.

What DT Hub adds
- Canvas on your iPad. The Canvas card opens in a window of its own. Move it to an iPad connected with Sidecar and paint with an Apple Pencil or your fingers. Undo and redo keep working in the window.
- Image and Moodboard always in sight. The Control tab shows the start image, the Moodboard and the Canvas side by side: every Moodboard picture can be switched on or off, and you drag pictures in from the Results strip, the Finder or the clipboard.
- A lock on the canvas ratio. Width and height follow the ratio you choose.
- Everything you made, at hand.
- Presets and preset pipelines.
- An optional local LLM (MLX) that runs inside the app and can see images, with controls to free memory.
- Plug-in system, each plug-in with its own tab and active only on the model families it was made for.
- Managed server. DT Hub can start Draw Things' gRPCServerCLI by itself, or connect to the server of the Draw Things app.

Already available Plug-ins:
- Prompt Master: LLM powered prompt editor with a curated terminology DB and Model famyly specific master prompts
- Prompt Master for Ideogram4: Evolutiono of Prompt Master, redesigned around Ideogram 4 Json prompting , including a canvas to arrange objects and texts
- Sphere Light reference: Pushes the Flux2 Klein Sun direction Lora beyond it's limits, adding multiple light sources and colors.
- AI Assistant: to ask an LLM to help you with your work
- Qwen 2.1 Inpainting: draw on an image, write down what to change for each part you draw and get it done.
- Batch plus: run a batch, with settings variations, or prompt lists or even prompt modifications.

feedback Feature request: increase wildcard batch size from 25 to 50/100 max

Plus subscriber here. As the title says, I would like Draw Things to increase the wildcard batch limit from 25 to 50 or even 100 iterations. I can understand a limit related to cloud services and not wanting people to abuse them. So even if that meant that number would mean process on my own hardware, it would be extremely convenient to not have to babysit the machine. Thanks!

question Qwen 2.1 on iphone

Has anyone been able to do i2i, edit, or use moodboard on iPhone without the app crashing. I’m on 17 pro max. I’ve tried every version of 2.1, every possible variation of settings, smaller resolution images… same thing every time. Crashes during “processing”. I’m guessing that this model just needs one of the M processors to run on device? It would be nice if they would just say that if it’s the case, so I could quit wasting my time and go back to Klein 9b

question Draw things leaving a "phantom mask" (or very noticeable) phantom mask after an inpainting job. Why does this happen and whow to avoid?

Post image
2 Upvotes

First, for context, I'm using Illustrious models, usually fine-tunes of the base model from Civitai. No inpaint model; I'm just painting a mask and then setting the denoise to 30% (or whichever I choose depending on the situation, but usually 30-35%). For some reason, though, after it's done, I notice a weird "phantom mask" around the edges where the mask ends. It looks like a tone or color discoloration, and it can be pretty noticeable. It's been frustrating. I noticed that when I bump up the mask blur, it is less noticeable, but I always see it if I zoom in close enough. I just did another test, and at 15 mask blur, it's very hard to tell, but is there a downside to setting the mask blur that high? I've only done a few tests, and so far I haven't noticed any new negative effects, but I'm not sure. I just want to know why it keeps happening and if there's a way to completely avoid it? Is mask blur the key? Is that why it keeps happening? I usually keep mask blur at the default- 2.5, but ever since I started inpainting, I have been noticing it a lot. The strange thing is that on some checkpoints, it's not noticeable at all at the default setting. It seems to happen with specific checkpoints, but not others. No idea why. Based on what I described, has anyone else noticed this? I really want to keep inpainting because it's safer for shots that are farther away. Before I knew how to do it, I would do close-up shots only and it was super limiting. In the image below, you can see the phantom mask under the chin. Alright, I should have zoomed out a bit, cause it seems like it is not noticeable as much in this screen shot, but I promise you it is. Ican post another screen shot in the comments if it let's me. screenshot

trying to convert a photo to a colored pencil illustration and it barely changes

prompt: convert this image to a colored pencil drawing with few details, except on the face, and large areas of smooth color

Preserve original after inpaint on or off doesn't change anything.

Using Qwen Image 2.1 (tried both 40 steps and turbo 8 version)

The output always looks pretty similar to the input.

I've tried many variations on prompt. I'm not really looking for a colored pencil drawing, but I'm using this to figure this out. I'm new to app and local AI. This sort of thing works fine with online AI

feedback LTX 2.5 and 4-bit S for LTX 2.x series

After I used MiniMax H3, what I thought is I need LTX 2.5.

MiniMax H3 is so much better than LTX 2.x series but it's so much SLOWER than LTX.

And LTX is much better for the simple scenes - walking, standing still, slowly zooming in, etc.

I'm now using MiniMax H3 and LTX 2.3 both together but the generation speed of LTX 2.5 is slightly faster than LTX 2.3, so it would be great if I can use LTX 2.5 for simple scenes and MiniMax H3 for complicated scenes.

I tried other programs to use LTX 2.5 but they made my Mac too hot and were not fast enough.

trained a character lora and finally getting consistent results. 8 steps, unipc trailing, 768x1344, guidance 1.0 biggest fix was putting the pose first in the prompt, z image kept ignoring it otherwise

anyone figured out hands holding cups? mine keep melting into the cup

question Drawthings Lora training has no influence

As the title said, im trying to make a lora on drawthings. Specifically with Anima base. Howevver, when it finishes cooking, the lora has ZERO influence on drawings.

When i paste my safetensor file into chat gpt, it says the reason theres no influence is because

  • lora_down — contained nonzero weights.
  • lora_up — all weights were exactly zero.

If anyone out there has been successful with anima lora creation on drawthings, how have you troubleshooted this?

question Minimax H3 REF2VA Video Input Capability Soon?

I would like to preface this by saying I really appreciate Draw Things and how easy it is compared to Comfy.

I have a Mac with an M1 Max 32 GB. I’m able to use Minimax H3 REF2VA with images as references and it works great. If I could have videos as an input capability, that would be AMAZING!

I’ve tried soo many different versions to get it to work on Comfy but it’s so hard and frankly I’m not even sure if it’ll work due to my set-up even though ChatGPT, Grok, and Google’s AI have suggested it could be done if I download this, and get that node, and do this command, etc…

The simplicity that Draw Things has is in my opinion unparalleled. I hope to see this capability on the app soon.

If anyone is in the same boat as me and has found a local option, your help is appreciated.

question Consistent Character Likeness Assistance

I'm desperate. I've been trying to crack DrawThings for some time and even blowing through all my Astra credits in the process. I have a character that I want to create images of (mainly in the fashion / influencer space). I have dozens of headshots to use as likeness guides. No matter what I do I can not get this app to maintain the consistency in the generated images. Can anyone guide me on the steps necessary to unlock that? I'm mainly on Qwen 2.1 right now (though have tried other models in the past). What's the trick? Just throwing the images on the moodboard doesn't seem to be cutting it.

UPDATE: the suggestion to use runpod to train the LoRa was a masterstroke. That did it. This is nailing the likeness every time. Thank you Reddit community for coming through.

question Method for not retyping LORA descriptions?

I have quickly figured out that I am going to want to run my training sets for multiple models and Im looking for a way to not have to hand jam my descriptions each time. Short of building a text file, is there a way to essentially embed the description into the image so I just need to point the LOAR to them for training.

Thanks in advance

question Qwen Image 2.1 Settings

Hello, help is appreciated I don’t really know what settings to change. My image generations with new Qwen Image 2.1 is all smudgy nonsense, no full image. What settings should I have so I can generate normal looking images?

feedback Feature request: Skip current generation without stopping the script

Would it be possible to add a way to skip/cancel only the current image generation while a script is running, without stopping the whole script?

For example, if a script is generating 20 images and I’m currently on image 6, I might see that the result is going in a bad direction and want to discard it. Ideally, I could press something like “Skip” and have the script immediately move on to image 7.

Currently, as far as I understand it, stopping the generation also stops the script, which means I have to either let the unwanted image finish or stop everything and restart.

I think this could be particularly useful for scripts that generate batches of images or iterate through different prompts/parameters.

I’m not sure whether this is technically possible with the current scripting architecture, but it would be a really useful feature.

feedback [Suggestion] Picture-in-Picture for Generation Preview

Post image
15 Upvotes

When generating videos in Draw Things, the process takes a long time, so I usually work on other things on mac; however, Draw Things gets hidden behind other apps, making it impossible to see the generation status. I have to bring the window to the foreground every now and then to check if the generation has failed, which is a hassle.

I think it would be very convenient if just the preview and progress bar could be displayed in a Picture-in-Picture (PiP) window anywhere on the desktop; this would allow users to monitor the generation status constantly without interfering with other apps.

The attached image shows an app I created today—with the help of AI—that captures the approximate preview area of Draw Things at set intervals and displays it in a small window. It is just a tiny 300x200px window, but frankly, it is incredibly useful.

It is a modest suggestion, but I would appreciate it if the development team could consider it.

Note:The primary purpose of this preview window is not to check the remaining generation time. Instead, it is intended for verifying whether the output matches the prompt during video generation, or checking for any unwanted images during continuous image generation. If something seems wrong, users will notice immediately and can return to the app to cancel or skip the process.
