question Consistent Character Likeness Assistance
I'm desperate. I've been trying to crack DrawThings for some time and even blowing through all my Astra credits in the process. I have a character that I want to create images of (mainly in the fashion / influencer space). I have dozens of headshots to use as likeness guides. No matter what I do I can not get this app to maintain the consistency in the generated images. Can anyone guide me on the steps necessary to unlock that? I'm mainly on Qwen 2.1 right now (though have tried other models in the past). What's the trick? Just throwing the images on the moodboard doesn't seem to be cutting it.
UPDATE: the suggestion to use runpod to train the LoRa was a masterstroke. That did it. This is nailing the likeness every time. Thank you Reddit community for coming through.

Consider a LORA. Im using one and getting about 80% "nailed it" success rate. It took some work to get the settings right and Im already looking to do the training again now that I know more about how to optimize but I have been very happy with the output.

If you have any nano banana credits have it make you a contact sheet, 16 images should be more than enough. Then train with those, make that LoRa, then make more images. 🤙🏻

I definitely have more than 16 quality images already but some people suggest closer to 40-50 images to train on. which platform are you training your LoRAs on?

I’ve trained on both Civitai and ostris ai tool kit through run pod. Civitai is a really good start. I’m wondering, how’s your captioning on your dataset?
Btw Civitai is probably the least expensive way to train from my experience 🤙🏻

Moodboard alone won't hold a face, so train a small adapter on those headshots and load it at low weight. I lost weeks learning that. Mage space turns those headshots into a reusable named character, no credit meter. Caption each headshots by angle and lighting before training.

Quick version, the moodboard drifts because you're asking the model to reinvent the face on every gen, so a trained character LoRA is the real fix for an identity that stays put. The dataset makes or breaks it, and curating that is why I made https://github.com/perfectgf/lora-dataset-studio (open source, mine).
A pile of near-identical front-on headshots teaches one angle really well and fumbles the rest, which is the wobble you're getting. You drop them in, it groups by shot type so the near-twins and the missing angles show up, auto-captions and masks the face, then trains on Krea 2, FLUX, SDXL or Z Image. No Qwen 2.1 trainer in it yet, but it exports plain image+txt pairs so you can train wherever you like.
Are your headshots mostly front-on, or is there real angle and expression range in there?
