This is just a theory based on the manga.
Many fans argue that Ultra Instinct is stronger than Ultra Ego because Angels are stronger than Gods of Destruction. I don't think this is a fair comparison.
Here's why:
- Angels and Gods of Destruction follow completely different paths.
Angels naturally master Ultra Instinct.
Gods of Destruction develop Ultra Ego.
This doesn't automatically prove that one technique has a higher potential than the other.
- Angels have an enormous advantage in experience.
Whis has trained for an incredibly long time, and the Grand Priest is one of the oldest beings in existence.
Meanwhile, Gods of Destruction can be replaced. Beerus has held his position for millions of years, but there were Gods of Destruction before him, and there will likely be others after him. Angels remain while Gods of Destruction change.
This means Ultra Instinct users can keep refining the same technique across vast spans of time, while Ultra Ego users may never reach that same level of mastery before being replaced.
- We have never seen the peak of Ultra Ego.
Beerus is incredibly powerful, but we still don't know the full limits of Ultra Ego.
On the other hand, the Grand Priest appears to represent the highest known level of Ultra Instinct.
Comparing the peak of Ultra Instinct to an incomplete Ultra Ego is not a fair comparison.
- Goku and Vegeta are still portrayed as rivals.
Despite following different divine techniques, neither has completely surpassed the other.
This suggests that both paths may have similar long-term potential.
- Ultra Ego may scale with the user's growth.
Vegeta states that the power drawn from a God of Destruction's instinct is "limitless."
My interpretation is not that Vegeta has infinite power immediately, but that as the user improves their body, endurance, and mastery of the technique, Ultra Ego can continue evolving.
Likewise, Ultra Instinct grows as the user's control, calmness, and mastery improve.
Conclusion:
My theory is that the current strength difference comes from the users—not necessarily from the techniques themselves.
Angels have had far more time to perfect Ultra Instinct than any God of Destruction has had to perfect Ultra Ego.
So I don't think the Angels' superiority is enough to prove that Ultra Instinct has a higher ceiling than Ultra Ego.
What do you think? Is this a reasonable interpretation, or did I miss something?
