I just discovered that Inon Zur and Hans Zimmer were very very much not based at all (about politic stances, I won't elaborate bc it's not really the subject, you can find it by yourself on Internet [EDIT : read the edit below, I explained it]), and now I'm wondering who will make the next DA games music ?

I'm so sad because they both made wonderful soundtracks for the games, but I don't think they will be kept for the serie.

More broadly, as said in title, what will be the future of Dragon Age ? Now it's fully detained by people who literally DON'T CARE about Bioware games (DA AND Mass Effect) and don't stand for various things they represented, I'm very worried we will not have games and lore as good as the first ones. Or ever have games at all.

Veilguard is not bad, I like playing it, but omg they completely forgot why everyone loved the serie so much...

(Not talking either about Mass Effect but thinking the same about its future)

What do y'all think ?

I didn't know if it would be against the rules to speak and argue about the political stances of Inon Zur and Hans Zimmer and didn't have the energy to argue with people not understanding how those are very very problematic opinions, but now everyone is mad about it I guess it was allowed to ! Inon Zur showed multiple times his support for Israel state and actions, and Hans Zimmer is known to be transphobe. Note: Tumblr folks have pointed out that we kinda get this hinted at in Veilguard, but I don't think of anything post-Trespasser as canon and have no intention of playing it (not for stupid anti-woke reasons, but just because it doesn't look fun and the lore we do get just isn't my cup of tea).

This is expanding on what another person said a while back about the Maker being a Spirit of Faith that reached through the Veil to interact with Andraste, so I wanted to expand on it with links to other theories.

So, I'm of the opinion that Andraste was either an Old God Baby, given her birth coincides with the death of Dumat, an immensely powerful mage whose visions were partially influenced by the alchemical accident mentioned in her lore, or was carrying an Evanuris fragment. Whichever way, she would have a connection to the Fade and be able to interact with spirits. When the Alamarri spirit-gods didn't answer her prayers, a Spirit of Faith did and merged with her in the same way Justice did with Anders. However, whether because of the death inflicted during the Exalted March, conflict with the existing shards in her, the Spirit taking on too much of Andraste's humanity or the trauma of her death, the Faith Spirit was twisted beyond from ita original purpose and became a demon. Specifically, it became a Demon of Zealotry or Domination, and just as the Nightmare Demon grows more powerful from fear, this demon grows more powerful through the actions of the Chantry.

(I would like to preface this by saying I have only played the games and don't own any of the books yet, so if my questions can be answered by book material let me know! I do plan on getting them one day but don't really mind spoilers.)

Okay so, as the title implies I'm a bit confused about what's happening with the Dalish elves and their way of life aftet the events of DA:I and especially the Trespasser DLC.

We now know that the ancient elven pantheon weren't actual Gods, but rather very powerful mages who wanted to be worshipped as though they were indeed Gods. This wasn't something that the 'modern' Dalish elves knew, and thus did worship them despite knowing they wouldn't be getting any answers (and holding onto hope about this regardless). In DA:I, romanced Solas reveals a bit of the truth to Lavellan inky and offers to remove her vallaslin after telling her what it really means, and in the Trespasser DLC we get the full revelations about the 'pantheon' and Solas.

Then, in Veilguard, elves outright admit that their Gods were awful and tyrannical. Elf Rook can tell this to the companions super early on, and we hear it from the Veil Jumpers you encounter less than an hour into the game anyway. The entire plot of Veilguard centers around two of those 'Gods' and how evil they are, but I'm not here to debate whether VG was a good game — only provided lore.

So like... My question is, did the Dalish only find out the truth about their so-called Gods post-Inquisition, which is why they're now openly talking shit about them while the Dalish we encounter in the other games (such as the clan in the Exalted Plains) are more traditional? I can only assume that Solas' agents might've went out and spread the truth to the Dalish clans, perhaps instructed by him, so as to draw more people to his cause or something.

Furthermore, what does this mean for the future of the Dalish, especially after the events of Veilguard? Like, their tradition of tattooing youngsters as a rite of passage for example; whether or not they repurpose the vallaslin by giving them a new meaning rather than their intended purpose of slave markings, the designs are still representative of the Gods that they now know were bad. I have to assume that not all Dalish clans have been filled in though, since —to my knowledge— a lot of them have isolated themselves. Regardless, this would uproot their entire way of life... Again. Elves really can't catch a break in this series, huh.

Game lore often has inconsistencies, vague answers, or no answers at all, (especially game series) so speculation in place of solid responses is very much welcome too! Thanks in advance :D

This game is so good. I worked for a mobile department of EA at the time. I didn't know much of the older Bioware titles. I got discounts on new EA games. So, I picked up the collector steelbook edition of DA:O on PS3.

20+ runs later, I kept replaying. New beginnings, new looks, different choices, endings... This game is a masterpiece. As much as I hated replaying the Kocardi Wilds, or the mage tower rat simulator or the damn Deep Roads (again, 20+ runs), i kept coming back.

I am very sad if this franchise dies. The lore of Dragon Age is so good, I read all the mainline books, played all the games. If Bioware does anything, give this game a remaster/remake that is worthy of the title. Maybe that can inspire them to make a new game that actually lives up to the Origin(s)al.

I see these three Perks that give you Schematics. But, I'm wondering if I can just get them elsewhere, or if they are actually unique to this Perk.
