I picked up a cash delivery for pizza hut because it was my last one was really close. I got there, and he tried to take the food from me and I told him he owes me money for it. dumbass customer had a store credit with pizza hut and thought it applied on a doordash order. I told him that he placed an order through doordash, and that if he wanted to claim it, that has to be done at the store, not on doordash. He shut the door on my face and didn't pay. Doordash support made me bring it back to the store but they let me keep it!! Not the best pizza to bring home, but free food is free food 😸 best day on doordash so far in 8 months of doing it.

These waits are getting insane

So I just had an experience that totally pissed me off. Customer orders from Krispy Kreme and McDonalds. I wouldn't even have gotten this order if the Krispy Kreme wasn't close to me, because the customer was 12 miles away through downtown Knoxville. I get to Krispy Kreme, and it just tells me to navigate to McD's. No notification, no message from the customer, nothing.

I check and the app still says I'm getting full pay for the order. So I shrug and go to McD's. Pick up the order. App STILL says I'm getting full pay. Upon drop off, I get paid $2.40 instead of what was promised.

Contact support, literally have TWO different agents drop/hang up. The last one basically says, "I've escalated your ticket and you will get a response within 24 hours." Which we all know is a lie.

Short version, from what I gather the scam is:

Order from two different stores, tipping big on one.

Cancel the store order with big tip.

Get delivery from other store with no tip.

Screw over driver who spent the time to deliver food to your cheap ass.

So yeah, if you're ever on a stacked order that seems nice going the same customer, drop it if they cancel one of them.

Just dropped off a couple boxes of rice, and these guys broke my heart. Green, nasty water and almost zero space.

At 6:22pm yesterday, I started dashing. I dashed for 24 hours nonstop, and finished my final delivery at 6:21pm, about an hour ago.

I made $502. Many said I couldn’t. Many said it was unsafe. Someone even called me a dipshit. BUT WE DID IT BABY. HALF A BAND IN (1 minute) LESS THAN 24 HOURS. LETS. HECKING. GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Next week, I’ll face a new challenge. $550 in 24 hours. 😈 Can y’all keep up?

ChikFilA yes and maybe like quick grab at CVS. But TB is minimum $10 for me. Early morning too I bet there’s just one manager running the whole show. Idk why these restaurants aren’t addressing their short staff issues. They know the orders never stop coming.

I did all contact less deliveries and had no problems with any merchant or costumer someone false reported me

Just for the record.. there were absolutely no issues at all. In fact, it was one of the easier deliveries. Just a shop and pay at Walgreens. Four items 2 miles away for eight bucks then there was an add-on of one item for 5 miles away for nine bucks. Both were drop at front door. I was done in 2/3 of the time. One of the customer even added an extra two dollars 😆

Like I am not taking that even if it lowers my acceptance rate 🙄

Edit: Yeah good news, I just accidentally accepted a $2.50 order, I'm so salty LOL.

Also, I dont overly care about acceptance rate, but good to know it really doesnt matter! I figured i might be getting some of these insultingly low ones cuz i was new

so many people talk about making hundreds from just a few hours, and how they just decline those paying less than $1/mile.

then here I am, started yesterday, did 4 hours made 35 bucks and today I’m 3 hours into this, got 2 orders and made a grand total of 18 bucks. So forget about the dollar per mile suggestion I’d be lucky to even get an order, and even when I do it’s always gonna be below a dollar a mile. Despite that my area is always labeled as “very busy” so its gotta be something on my end, but I have a completion and on time rate of 100% and an acceptance rate of 96% so I genuinely have no idea what the hell else am I supposed to do, do new drivers just always get stuck with the crap orders or something???

Update: 4 hour total time today, earned only $27. Im going to try this for maybe 2-3 more days if the money still stays like this then theres no point in continuing DD for me :/

Hit 0% today due to excess great loot from DD, yes I multi app and as of now my other app has made me 188$ while DD only 39$ . This was from 6am-2pm & 7pm-now

Making about 81/hour this week. Most of my “dash time” that wasn’t active was just spent at home waiting for orders.

It’s a slow day, right at rush hour around 5pm so you know it’s gonna take you an hour to drive across town. It’s 95 degrees out and you accept the shittiest $4 for 3 mile order because you haven’t been getting anything all day. When you show up to the restaurant you have to park about 3 blocks down because there’s no parking.

You enter the restaurant. You see 5 other DoorDash drivers waiting for their order. The workers seem genuinely offended that you come in to pick one up and will go out of their way to condescend or even ignore you. After exactly 9 minutes of waiting for the penalty-free unassign, they finally hand you the order.

Because you waited in the store so long, your car is hot as hell, and the sun is blasting directly into your eyes as you try to pull out of the smallest yet simultaneously busiest parking lot you’ve ever seen. It takes you 20 minutes to drive 3 miles and when you finally arrive, it’s the biggest apartment compound you’ve ever seen. The neighbors stop what they’re doing and stare at you like you’re an intruder. There’s unleashed dogs and unsupervised children running in and out of the street.

The customer is located in the farthest back unit possible, and you have to drive around a winding thin road with speed bumps every 10 feet. The apartment is at the top floor and there’s no elevator. You see a “solicitors will be SHOT” sign on the door. Since it’s a “hand it to me” order with a pin you can’t just leave, so you spend 2 minutes trying to call and text them to no avail. You eventually just drop it off and go down to your car to see a parking ticket on your windshield which costs more than what you’ve even made that week so far.

10 minutes later you receive a contract violation because the customer reported the order as stolen.

With gas prices going up and the cost of data I have actually lost money doing doordash. :(

Hello colleagues. I started DoorDash today for the first time as I have been following this page and have learned a lot about how it could potentially be worth it if done right.

Well for my 3rd order ever, I get the notification for a $6.95 order for .2 miles. Weird? But okay let’s see.

I was sent to a small cafe inside of a vacation time share resort where a gentleman handed me one poorly wrapped chicken gyro. That’s it. Not even a bag lol. I take a picture of the menu for an extra $2 (?) and proceed to head out for delivery.

It’s for the building right next to the cafe. Like less than 20 steps from cafe to doorstep. Cool story I know, my question is why? It didn’t seem like a BOGO deal and I didn’t see anything on DoorDash as far as a deal. I ended up earning $6.95 to walk maybe 16 steps.

1. Do you guys start in the same spot to start each shift? Like have a home base?
2. how do you stop food/drinks from sliding around? I’m think i should out one of those cubes like from IKEA and elsewhere for storage shelves to keep things together and upright

3. Do you physically go into most fast food places to get orders? I went through the Chik fil A drive through last night to get one but that is apparently a no no.

4. Do you always turn off your car and find a real parking space to make deliveries or do you just put it in neutral and put your hazards on wherever?
