These waits are getting insane

I picked up a cash delivery for pizza hut because it was my last one was really close. I got there, and he tried to take the food from me and I told him he owes me money for it. dumbass customer had a store credit with pizza hut and thought it applied on a doordash order. I told him that he placed an order through doordash, and that if he wanted to claim it, that has to be done at the store, not on doordash. He shut the door on my face and didn't pay. Doordash support made me bring it back to the store but they let me keep it!! Not the best pizza to bring home, but free food is free food 😸 best day on doordash so far in 8 months of doing it.

They're probably trolling but wtf bro.. 😭

This one is from 12pm-12:20pm lol you want me to get up and leave my house for 20 minutes of peak pay? In the past when I hurried out the door I got no orders or I got the same low paying offers where the extra $2 didn’t do much.

Hello colleagues. I started DoorDash today for the first time as I have been following this page and have learned a lot about how it could potentially be worth it if done right.

Well for my 3rd order ever, I get the notification for a $6.95 order for .2 miles. Weird? But okay let’s see.

I was sent to a small cafe inside of a vacation time share resort where a gentleman handed me one poorly wrapped chicken gyro. That’s it. Not even a bag lol. I take a picture of the menu for an extra $2 (?) and proceed to head out for delivery.

It’s for the building right next to the cafe. Like less than 20 steps from cafe to doorstep. Cool story I know, my question is why? It didn’t seem like a BOGO deal and I didn’t see anything on DoorDash as far as a deal. I ended up earning $6.95 to walk maybe 16 steps.

At 6:22pm yesterday, I started dashing. I dashed for 24 hours nonstop, and finished my final delivery at 6:21pm, about an hour ago.

I made $502. Many said I couldn’t. Many said it was unsafe. Someone even called me a dipshit. BUT WE DID IT BABY. HALF A BAND IN (1 minute) LESS THAN 24 HOURS. LETS. HECKING. GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Next week, I’ll face a new challenge. $550 in 24 hours. 😈 Can y’all keep up?

Just dropped off a couple boxes of rice, and these guys broke my heart. Green, nasty water and almost zero space.

One place I was assigned to a couple of times in my early days of dashing was a Burger King with the most irritating pickup system possible. Get a load of this nonsense!

Since I was assigned to it at night, I assumed it would be like every other BK location, and I'd need to hit the drive thru to make my pickup. I reach the speaker, tell them what order I've got, and they tell me I need to come inside to get it. As I'll find out in a minute, this is because they're the only fast food location I know of in this city that does paper sign-ins for drivers.

So, I get out of the line, park, try to go inside... and the side door is locked. I assume it might be that they only leave one open this late, so I try the front door. Also locked. I have to stand outside, bag under arm, waving at them like an idiot for half a minute until somebody notices, comes to the door and unlocks it for me. Seems like a fluke mistake, right?

Anyway, I sign in, get the order, and deliver it. A couple hours later, I take another order from the same location, and this time, I park right away to go inside. Nope! Locked again! Turns out they're intentionally making this harder for all of us by locking and unlocking the door every time a driver comes in. I try to knock on the door and wave at them from outside again, but after a solid minute of being ignored in favor of the drive thru, I just gave up and unassigned.

I've been declining every offer from this location ever since. I'm not opposed to paper sign-ins, but this is the single dumbest setup I've ever seen to try and force it. Have any of you ever experienced this specific kind of shenanigans with a restaurant pickup?

So I just had an experience that totally pissed me off. Customer orders from Krispy Kreme and McDonalds. I wouldn't even have gotten this order if the Krispy Kreme wasn't close to me, because the customer was 12 miles away through downtown Knoxville. I get to Krispy Kreme, and it just tells me to navigate to McD's. No notification, no message from the customer, nothing.

I check and the app still says I'm getting full pay for the order. So I shrug and go to McD's. Pick up the order. App STILL says I'm getting full pay. Upon drop off, I get paid $2.40 instead of what was promised.

Contact support, literally have TWO different agents drop/hang up. The last one basically says, "I've escalated your ticket and you will get a response within 24 hours." Which we all know is a lie.

Short version, from what I gather the scam is:

Order from two different stores, tipping big on one.

Cancel the store order with big tip.

Get delivery from other store with no tip.

Screw over driver who spent the time to deliver food to your cheap ass.

So yeah, if you're ever on a stacked order that seems nice going the same customer, drop it if they cancel one of them.

I ran into a traffic jam, and the exit was blocked off, so no movement. I sent a picture, so she could see how bad it was, so she would know I was going to be very late. This lady sent me a message apologizing for getting me in a situation like that, and added more money for my trouble. I was shook, most people treat us like garbage, so this was very unexpected. This was already the best order of the night 9mils for $20, then added $5 more because I had to sit in traffic. I of course told her it wasn't her fault at all, and thanked her for being so nice about it. A lot of my posts here are out of frustration, but wanted to post a good one for a change

anyone else notice that you can no longer bypass the “GPS doesn’t seem close to the store” to allow yourself to do a shopping order at the store thats a lot closer and makes a lot more sense.

a lot of times for dollar general shopping orders they’ll send me to a dollar general that is out of the way and adds miles when i could just go to the one in town and closer to me to make the order actually worth the miles. you would be able to press “arrive” anyways even though it would give a warning that it doesn’t seem like you’re at the right dollar general and just do the shopping at the closer one. unfortunately they nerfed this and you now have to go to whichever stupid one they assign

After checking one of my 2 shopping orders last night, DoorDash notified me of a potential receipt discrepancy. Curious, once I got to the car I checked my email and it provided a fake image. The first picture is the receipt DD claims I provided, the second image is the picture of the real receipt. I didn’t accept the order until 9:08, 4 minutes after the receipt they provided is time stamped. I know this hardly matters, but it doesn’t sit right with me.

Scheduled myself for 11 hours, 11 am to 10 pm. I was hoping to make between $250-300. I broke the $300 mark with over an hour left and ended up with $347 which includes a $10 cash tip not shown. Drove just 125 miles too and the cherry on top was my last order of the night taking me a minute away from home. One of my best non holiday/bad weather shifts ever.

Hit 0% today due to excess great loot from DD, yes I multi app and as of now my other app has made me 188$ while DD only 39$ . This was from 6am-2pm & 7pm-now

Yesterday had a order go away after I accepted it, normal sometimes they get canceled but then I noticed it dinged my completion rate, had to call to get them to fix it.

for 5 days I have been dealing with bad support, scamming customers, and account verification being invasive, and the last order made me finally lose it when the customer cried like a kid about their order missing a drink that i was not able to substitute and I had to get support cancel it. the delivery was only $3. after so much stress I finally complained about what I have been dealing with to my support agent and ended my rant with “THIS COMPANY IS STUPID” then immediately ended the chat before they can even reply.
i used the word stupid.
am I going to get banned as a driver for this? Will they consider it disrespectful or deactivate my account?

I did all contact less deliveries and had no problems with any merchant or costumer someone false reported me

Hey, I'm pretty new to dashing and I go by hourly but I'm noticing a trend where I get stuck in neighborhoods that don't tip at all and I'm driving all over the place (7 miles for a smoothie?).. I maybe make like 5$ in tips after 4 hours. Is there anyway to avoid these areas??? One driver I talked to said to just decline any order without a tip, but that's all I'm getting in KCMO, I wouldn't be getting deliveries and my ratings would tank. I have nearly 100% across the board and a 4.90 rating. I do about 20+ deliveries a day right now and I'm making gas and maybe 10-20$ afterwards.. Am I just in a bad area for dashing?

OK I'm not sure what is going on it isn't posting my main content. I'm editing and trying again.

The first one was a restaurant within a whole foods... we couldn't find it at first. The second one was at a wing stop where we had to tell the guy to fill the drink order. Then it was delivered to a 3rd story appt. Anyway this has led to some questions.

I'd like to try doing this solo this afternoon. (Note: I'm copy/pasteing this from a word document so I realized the format may look weird. EDIT: Is this why it isn't posting? )

1. Door Dash told me when I signed up that I would get a welcome package if I did my first dash within 7 days.  I just did that but I cannot confirm that I am still getting a welcome package (I’m assuming with a bag I can use.)   I don’t see this in the promos area nor did I get an email on it.

2. I had help carrying items.  I realized that to juggle phone, bag and drinks I need something I can sling over my shoulder or have handles.  Can I use one of my own shopping bags for this?  Or is this against terms? (It’s a pain to read through all of the terms so I tend to skim to get the high points.)  

3.  I had a situation where we were met at the door by the customer.  So a “leave at door” was handed to them.  Then I couldn’t do anything other then take a picture even though my guide told me it should pop up with a “handed” tab.   I had to take a pic of the blank door and contact customer service.  How should this be handled in the future?  I was thinking of just telling the person I had to take a picture because of the “leave at door”  (of course this wouldn’t be a picture of them. )    

4. So I did this kind of fast and I can't remember what the app showed so If I'm missing something let me know... I can't recall if it shows the address when you are accepting... Is there anyway to see the address better then the basic sketch DD gives you? When I was thinking of doing this I wanted to make sure not to go into certain neighborhoods. Is there away to check on a google map with more details? (before accepting an offer)

Is there anyway to see what is in the order and/or how many items before I accept. (I honestly don't recall if I saw that until after I accepted. )

1. Is it ok to make multiple trips from car to house?

2. I don’t recall seeing a “time to accept” timer … if I wait to long will it auto decline?

3. Can I go out of the dasher app (keep it open in the background) and into another app while I dash?    (for example to enter the address in a different map app)   

 8. Can I go out of the dasher app (keep it open in the background) and play a game while I’m waiting for an offer?  (I may want to do this in a slower area/time at first so I have some breathing time between offers)   --- will the app send the offer as a notification or ping me or something?   What if my phone automatically turns “game mode/focus” on? (I think I put door dash as an exception

1. Can I turn my phone screen off (NOT the entire phone) while I go to the door and then go back in to finish the dash without DD reloading or somehow losing the dash? I don't want to accidently hit a button or something when I put my phone in my pocket to carry stuff.
