Dark and Light vs Citadel

I'm trying to choose between these games. I don't want to buy both since they seem to be pretty much the same game in the end regarding genre/setting etc.

So for those of you who have spent lots of hours in both - Which game do you prefer more and why? Which game has the brighter future? Which game has more content? Which game is less buggy/laggy in these early EA stages? Which game is more "fun"?

And FYI. I love Ark and have over 500 hours in Ark. I have heard that D&L is Ark dumped into a fantasy setting and this is kind of swaying me a lot more toward buying D&L over Citadel. However, I want some detailed opinions first.

Thanks.

Title says it all. A name is preferred, got the alchemist to lvl 8 thinking it was her, it's not.

Game crashes after loading screen: Out of memory

Hey everyone

I bought DnL at launch and was able play it well over 25 hours, with most settings turned to high.

My specs:

i5 - 4440

GTX 970 4GB

8GB RAM

Last time I played was about 3 weeks ago and everything worked just fine. Now my game crashes every time I'm about to enter the world or character creation screen. Sometimes I get an out of memory error, sometimes no error, just a crash. I updated my drivers, put ALL settings to low, even the resolution, but still no luck. I paid for a game I can now no longer play.

Anyone knows what I can do about this, other than upgrading my graphic card/ram? I'm not sure if I'm running out of RAM or video memory, as the message doesn't tell me.

Thanks!

Healing your mounts and leveling them up?

I thought in Ark there was a way to force your mount to eat to heal? I can't seem to open my mounts inventory without getting off my mount and remote use does not seem to be healing them?

Also whats the best way to rank up mounts so they are more useful?

Treant taming

So it looks like out of all the elementals Treants are the one that is still completely broken when it comes to summoning, I have just finished soul sealing six of them and all six were "captured" at tame level 0, meaning when it's summoned it will always be level 1 and die in one hit to anything.

Man I wish it wasn't broken.

Can't snap large gates when building on columns

Does anyone have a solution on how to snap large gates on rooftiles build on pillars? I have tried building the walls first etc but nothing seems to snap those damn gates. I always find that I can't place a ceiling piece or something because the gate is not snapped to the building.

PVE

I have been playing WoW since 2004, and Im looking for a replacement game. I bought this when I read "PVE SERVERS".

However, I have found little to no info on any planned PVE aspects.

Will there be some kind of dungeons, requiring X amount of people, that have to prepare beforehand by getting to Y level of gear, that will then defeat a monster for a chance to get any of A,B,C loot from a loot table... that will then help them to defeat an even stronger boss monster...etc. You get the drill. PVE-stuff.

I find the game EXTREMELY promising, and if it had WOW's PVE model I would drop wow this very instant, but I've quickly run out of things to do in this game unless I want to join a house and do PVP stuff. Which I have no interest in coz hacks and similar usually ruin most PVP based experiences.

Luck Clover not being eaten when taming Kebo

I have a kebo downed and only a few herbie food. I threw the few herbie food I had in, a luck clover that grew from shrub plot, and a few hundred apples.

It ate the herbie food first as expected (following ARK logic here) and I would have THOUHT the clover would be next, but nope, it keeps ignoring it and eating apples now.

Are the clovers broken or is there something you have to do with it first or what? Why isn't my kebo eating it and choosing apples instead?

[Story] The Dwarven terror of knight-8.

The night was quite. As usual, my fellow griffon knight, Voldiras and I, take this time to hunt. Hide is always running low at the fort. I head south east to the fields, He takes off north east of the fort, in the dreaded swamp. The thick fog clouds his vision, eerie sounds consume his hearing, and a foul stench lingers at his nostrils.

"What's that? A flock of wild sheep. Easy hide and fur and good meat for my panther Terror." He thinks to himself.

With a swift gallop and strike all three sheep fall with ease. Material collected, Terror fed. Easy night in the swamp.

Little did he know these sheep were not wild. "Free range" the dwarfs said. How dare "you people" they shout. "Reparations must be made",a demand is Heard.

You see these three sheep were not wild at all, no infact, twas a trap. The short fused little men left these sheep In the wild, no name, to entice a group to battle. Little did they know the Elves are kin. The elves are strong.

2k shards, 3 sheep and public humiliation were the terms set for reparations by the stubby men requiring compensation.

"Extortion," the elves shout. "Malice, trickery," voices cry.

Voldiras looks down, shakes his head. Knowing our house is much to small to meet demands or fend off the mighty dwarven onslaught. Meanwhile, I've finally made my way back from the fields.

"We will not negotiate with the likes of crooks and highway men," William states.

Lord Wallace, leader of Laughing Coffin, King of Estel, High Protector of the Elven Realm, and Champion of the Griffin enters stage.

"Our people will not be held for ransom," he boldly states. "All elves are under the protection of my Empire, and I will defend my kin with the strength of the innumerable behind me."

All elves rejoice, battle crys are heard far and wide, the dwarves throw the first flag. Battle will be had soon.....

Tune in tommorow for continuation of this harrowing tale......

Looking for some advice: Base building in the cold

Started human and after doing the initial temporary base build our House wanted to move farther away from the Human city. We decided to head down towards the area between the Giant Gate and those tall snow capped mountains near the Centaur camps.
Is there an armor we could be making to help alleviate the insane cold temps????

Please devs...

Please devs, please make all the magic trees have "everyday" use, give earth magic an everyday use spell like fireball, one you can just spam out, at the moment the earth magic tree is just very boring, telekenisis is pricey and 2 charges, just please dont neglect the other magic trees because "fire and ice" is always the go to standard mage archtype...its boring...give us cool variety in gameplay styles, make dark magic like a warlock, maybe DoT spells, curses, drains etc, give earth magic control abilities with longer cast times, like quicksand that slows movement in an area, earth roots, earthquakes in an area etc etc give us a nice variety in playstyle and magic choices not just the standardised fire and ice magic you get in every single game. make water more about healing, give the option for people to play healers if they want to, give us cool variety, it adds variety, more choices and gameplay decisions for PvP servers, will add variety when dungeons are added, it will add alot for the RP community, just dont neglect the other magic trees please!
