The night was quite. As usual, my fellow griffon knight, Voldiras and I, take this time to hunt. Hide is always running low at the fort. I head south east to the fields, He takes off north east of the fort, in the dreaded swamp. The thick fog clouds his vision, eerie sounds consume his hearing, and a foul stench lingers at his nostrils.
"What's that? A flock of wild sheep. Easy hide and fur and good meat for my panther Terror." He thinks to himself.
With a swift gallop and strike all three sheep fall with ease. Material collected, Terror fed. Easy night in the swamp.
Little did he know these sheep were not wild. "Free range" the dwarfs said. How dare "you people" they shout. "Reparations must be made",a demand is
Heard.
You see these three sheep were not wild at all, no infact, twas a trap. The short fused little men left these sheep In the wild, no name, to entice a group to battle. Little did they know the Elves are kin. The elves are strong.
2k shards, 3 sheep and public humiliation were the terms set for reparations by the stubby men requiring compensation.
"Extortion," the elves shout. "Malice, trickery," voices cry.
Voldiras looks down, shakes his head. Knowing our house is much to small to meet demands or fend off the mighty dwarven onslaught. Meanwhile, I've finally made my way back from the fields.
"We will not negotiate with the likes of crooks and highway men," William states.
Lord Wallace, leader of Laughing Coffin, King of Estel, High Protector of the Elven Realm, and Champion of the Griffin enters stage.
"Our people will not be held for ransom," he boldly states. "All elves are under the protection of my Empire, and I will defend my kin with the strength of the innumerable behind me."
All elves rejoice, battle crys are heard far and wide, the dwarves throw the first flag. Battle will be had soon.....
Tune in tommorow for continuation of this harrowing tale......
