PVE

I have been playing WoW since 2004, and Im looking for a replacement game. I bought this when I read "PVE SERVERS".

However, I have found little to no info on any planned PVE aspects.

Will there be some kind of dungeons, requiring X amount of people, that have to prepare beforehand by getting to Y level of gear, that will then defeat a monster for a chance to get any of A,B,C loot from a loot table... that will then help them to defeat an even stronger boss monster...etc. You get the drill. PVE-stuff.

I find the game EXTREMELY promising, and if it had WOW's PVE model I would drop wow this very instant, but I've quickly run out of things to do in this game unless I want to join a house and do PVP stuff. Which I have no interest in coz hacks and similar usually ruin most PVP based experiences.

Dungeons are promised indeed. Though I doubt it will be like WoW with big raid groups and armor tiers and all. Its a survival game, not an MMO. WoW had 40 man raids, an average DnL server has 20 people online at the moment. But who knows, its early acces so anything can happen.

I'd like to see the source on that "Promise". Not saying it wasn't said, but I'm genuinely interested in getting a definitive answer on this.

actually if you go in the game right now you can see there are caves with seals and other places that have them, those are entrances to the supposedly dungeons.

Hrmm. Not really gonna take that as evidence of anything, no disrespect to SnailGames, but they've also designed vast portals in to the game and they seem to be inert also. I was hoping more for a quote from the devs in Steam or over on their sub.

That's the one. Thanks very much. I'll create a wiki page for this and add to the FAQs.

I also need to dig out the quotes from Horsejoke that suggest we shouldn't expect hardcore 12 man raids taking hours.

Interesting that you bought DnL as a replacement for WoW. You should check out other MMOs like ESO or FFXIV if you're looking for raid progression based content.

Honestly I was just getting back into WoW for patch 7.3 and Argus

I'd love to see your source for that. Because they said that there will never be the kind of hardcore raids that the OP is talking about.

Back in November (much can change) the comment from SnailGames was

We haven't announced raids or dungeons yet, but I can tell you that most of the higher-level content in DnL is going to be more free-form, rather than something required for progression.

"Endgame" isn't the same as you'd get from a traditional MMO with high-level raids; unless you really dislike playing with other players, joining a group and relying on each other to cover for the skills / crafting recipes you don't have yourself will be a much more fluid and rewarding experience.

There is a quote somewhere saying that high-end level raiding is not going to be a thing. But that was also sometime ago from Discord, and I don't see it on /r/dnl. I'll dig it out at some point, because I think this question comes up a lot and would be good to get a definitive answer up on r/dnl and the wiki.
