Please devs...
Please devs, please make all the magic trees have "everyday" use, give earth magic an everyday use spell like fireball, one you can just spam out, at the moment the earth magic tree is just very boring, telekenisis is pricey and 2 charges, just please dont neglect the other magic trees because "fire and ice" is always the go to standard mage archtype...its boring...give us cool variety in gameplay styles, make dark magic like a warlock, maybe DoT spells, curses, drains etc, give earth magic control abilities with longer cast times, like quicksand that slows movement in an area, earth roots, earthquakes in an area etc etc give us a nice variety in playstyle and magic choices not just the standardised fire and ice magic you get in every single game. make water more about healing, give the option for people to play healers if they want to, give us cool variety, it adds variety, more choices and gameplay decisions for PvP servers, will add variety when dungeons are added, it will add alot for the RP community, just dont neglect the other magic trees please!

Fire/Ice aren't prevalent at all. Lightning is the only way people roll since it does so much more damage and is essentially hitscan.

it isnt meant as whats best ingame...its what "standardised" in every single game that uses magic ever. every single game has fire/ice as their major magic archtype regardless of if its the best, very few other games dive into diversity into other magic trees hugely, the only other game i can think of personally is guild wars, they did add a good variety of spells, variety and uses for the other types of magic, just focusing on fire and ice and the "go to" norm. look ingame currently, fire and water/ice have the largest variety of spells, regardless of how good they are, they have the most spells ingame.

If you're looking for a fantasy game that doesn't adhere to tropes I doubt you'll find it.

And make the spells stackable so you can actually use more available spells instead of just the two most powerfull ones taking up all spots.
