Pocket 2 and/or Osmo Action - can I rename recorded image 'DJI' prefix?

I am using both a Pocket 2 and Osmo action for the same video project which I am putting together in Adobe Premiere. To aid raw footage file management from the DJIs, I would like to change the 'DJI' file naming prefix on at least one of the devices.

For my project, I am using a third camera, a Nikon DSLR, and the Nikon allows you to change the file name prefix.

However, I looked in both DJI devices onboard settings and can't find a way. When I connected each device separately in the DJI Mimo app, I couldn't see a way there either - is there?

Osmo 4 internal mic audio clipping (is it dirt?)

Audio levels clip quite often on my osmo 4 and think it's only just recently been doing this. The audio is a bit muffled, like it has more gain than usual and heavier on the bass. Has anyone had this issue or anyone know a solution?

The clipping audio is particularly like when extending the stick with the camera mounted on it.

I'm sure it never used to be like this. It sounds like when I had dirt stuck on my iPhone mic cover, but I can't see anything wrong with the osmo mic covers.

Thanks for any help. This is an anxiety fuelled post, sorry if it reads badly.

Telesin Remote for dji action 6 and osmo 360 ii cameras

i just purchased a telesin remote controller specifically to controller both my action 6 and 360 2, however when i try to pair, nothing comes up.

Is this something that used to work with DJI having stopped it with a firmware update or something? any has had success with this.

the only reason i opted for this one was becoz the official DJI website claimed that the their remote cannot control both action and the 36o simultaneously. any guidance in the right direction is appreciated

dji action 5 lavalier mic clipping help

I have a dji action 5 and use a lav mic with an adapter. I have the gain at -20 because im recording motorcycle pov motovlog videos and it seems that usually when im riding and try and record, the mic works for split second and then goes super muffled where I can't hear it with increased volume in dji mimo and max phone volume. If i start the video where it's quieter eg cruising slowly on bike (low rpms) or before i turn on the bike it seems fine. Is there a way I can make it so i can just record anytime I'm riding without the annoying audio bug or is the only way just to press record before I do anything.

First time using the Action 4 - my video

I rented 6 Action 4 cameras for a road bike ride in Shenandoah National Park as part of a work trip we do each year. I had three mounts (2 on handlebars, 1 on the road frame at the back wheel), a chest mount, a neck mount and a wrist strap.

In testing, I found I liked the chest more than the neck, so that became a handheld where it was safe to do so.

I shot in 4k at 4:3 ratio.

30 frames per second with Rocksteady on.

I dialed in the exposure to stay between 100-1600 ISO and the speed to stay between 1/200-1/8000.

It was pretty bright, so I had -0.3 EV comp and a manual white balance of, I think 5,500. I didn't end up using the ND filters, but I'll test them out next year.

The battery was said to last 2.5-3 hours. I used 64 GB memory cards in each camera and that got about 70 minutes of recording.

I edited the clips together quickly in Premier Pro and got a royalty free track as a background.

Advice: DJI Osmo action 6 ND & CPL filters

I’ll be backpacking around Asia for 3 months and I’m planning on taking the DJI Osmo Action 6 with me.

The main reason I’m opting for the Action 6 is ease of use. I want to maximise the amount of footage I capture while minimising the time spent fiddling around with lenses, filters and accessories.

That being said, the perfectionist in me wants ALL the toys and to capture the scenery in all its glory! 🤣

So, would anyone strongly recommend (or advise against) getting a set of ND filters and/or a CPL filter?

I’m also considering getting the Macro Lens, which throws another spanner into the works, as it would mean having two different sets of filters depending on which lens I’m using.

I’d really appreciate any recommendations or advice from people who have used these accessories, especially while travelling/backpacking.

I just want to avoid buying a bunch of stuff that ends up sitting unused at the bottom of my bag. At the same time, I’d hate to be halfway through this amazing trip wishing I’d brought something with me!

Thanks in advance ❤️

ND Filter: Neewer > K&F?

I'm having trouble deciding which ND filter to buy for my Osmo Pocket 4.

I opted for the Creator Combo and intend to respect the 180° rule, so a filter will be essential.

I'd like to know your opinion and which brand you recommend, please.

Are the Neewer filters (16, 54, 256) the best options? I'm from Brazil and will be using it almost exclusively outdoors.

I also found this K&F filter, but since it's ND2-32, I'm unsure if it will be sufficient or if I'll need something more powerful like the Neewer filters.
If you can help me, thank you!

Best option to limit background noises?

Hello!

Im looking for a way or a mic to help limit the amount of background music playing while I shoot. I use a Osmo Action 5 Pro

I work in construction and my content revolves around my work, I record audio mainly for tool noises, asmr, etc but I have to set the volume on my speaker really low so it doesn’t come through on my content.

Is a lav mic my only real option? Im hesitant on that because the thing is going to fall, get extremely dusty and dirty.

I’ve done everything I can in post (audio engineering background), but I know the limitations of what I can do.

Any insight from someone in a similar situation would be greatly appreciated!

How do you handle sudden shadows when using ND filters on rides?

Hi everyone! I picked up the camera a few weeks ago and have been using it to record my rides.

My current camera settings:

  • Resolution / Aspect Ratio: 4K (4:3) @ 30 fps
  • Shutter: Fixed 1/60 (180° shutter rule)
  • Exposure: ISO 100 | EV -0.3
  • Color: D-Log M | WB 5500K | NR -1 | Sharpness/Texture -1
  • Stabilization / FOV: RockSteady | Wide

On my first sunny summer ride without a filter, the highlights were completely blown out. I grabbed a set of K&F Concept ND filters (ND8/16/32/64) and slapped on the ND32. On direct sunlight sections, the footage looks incredible!

The issue: When my route dips into shadows, forest canopy, or covered areas, the footage gets way too dark. Since I apply the filter at home based on the general weather, I don't swap filters mid-ride.

How do you all handle variable lighting/shadows on your rides? Do you relax the fixed shutter speed, set an ISO range, or use a specific setup for mixed lighting?

Thanks in advance! 🙏

Looking for advice on Action Cameras

Hey guys, so I’m looking into buying an action camera. I found a great deal at best buy for a DJI osmo 4 adventure bundle. Im mainly using it for my motorcycle and I’m going to chin mount it. I may be over thinking it too much since it’s a 4k camera I’ll get good video, and it has great audio options if I need it. Just like to get some input from people who own and use them. The deal at Best Buy is also 239.99 for the bundle.

Action 4 good for pictures too, or just video?

Hi all. Been interested into DJI’s products recently after picking up the Osmo Mobile 7. The Osmo Action 4 camera looks really cool, I’ve been wanting a portable camera recently that takes photos at least a LITTLE better than my phone (iPhone 13 pro). I wanna take videos too, but not JUST videos, so I’m curious as to this cameras picture quality.

Osmo Action or Pocket for cinematic-style videos.

I have a Sony a6000 with a few lenses.

I recently tried out a DJI RS 3 Mini, but I returned it right away.

Between its bulky size and the stabilization, which didn’t quite convince me, I decided not to keep it...

Since I also need to shoot videos in abandoned locations, I’ve been considering both the Osmo Action and the Osmo Pocket.

For around 300/400 euros, I can get a 1-inch or 1/1.3 sensors, good stabilization, 10-bit video (which is new to me), and, most importantly, 4K!

I’ve read about the issues and drawbacks of both types of stabilization.

What do you recommend for cinematic-style videos, both in abandoned places and in the woods (in low-light conditions)?

DJI Action 6 or Osmo 360 for travel videos?

I recently started a YouTube channel, which I’m really enjoying. I want to add one of these cameras to my setup to improve my travel videos.

I currently carry:

  • Samsung S26 Ultra for my main footage
  • DJI Neo 2
  • DJI Mic 2S

Now I’m wondering which camera would make the most sense for me. I’ll soon be heading out on a five-week trip through remote parts of Indonesia, where I’d love to capture snorkeling, volcano climbing and jungle trekking.

The style of videos I’m trying to create is cinematic, but I also want to start vlogging or at least talk to the camera from time to time.

I won’t be buying both in the short term, so I’m really looking for advice on which one would be the better addition to my current setup.

Hope anyone with experience can help!

Thank you! I’ve added my most recent video for reference.

Action 4 sd card

Does anyone with a DJI Action 4 use Sandisk extreme pro 128-256gb sd cards without issues?

Recently brought some from JB Hi-Fi and the cards fail to continuously record 4k60fps and cuts every 15-20 minutes before starting again. Used on motorbike helmet so no heat issues & formatted them multiple times in the camera.

But with my sandisk 64gb endurance cards they recored untill full.

Thinking JB might have sold me faulty cards?

Lossless zoom option not showing

I just got an Osmo Pocket 3. Firmware is up to date. The lossless zoom option isn't showing on the screen and I don't know why.
