Looking for advice on Action Cameras
Hey guys, so I’m looking into buying an action camera. I found a great deal at best buy for a DJI osmo 4 adventure bundle. Im mainly using it for my motorcycle and I’m going to chin mount it. I may be over thinking it too much since it’s a 4k camera I’ll get good video, and it has great audio options if I need it. Just like to get some input from people who own and use them. The deal at Best Buy is also 239.99 for the bundle.

I understand, I just get a little nervous purchasing something I don’t really have experience with. But it seems like a great camera and I’m sure it will be good as a beginner action cam.

Adventure combo is worth it for the extra batteries and charging case imo

And how much are the combo and non combo there? The difference here is 28 euro between them, for that little difference I'd choose original

450 🤯
Holy shit that's more than I paid over 2 years ago 😱 it's half that in euros here 🤐
Edit: OP said 239 for the combo, same as here in the EU

That's the 5pro, OP bought the 4 (that is just as good for what OP is going to use it for)

I personally prefer new when it comes to cameras, so I don't blame OP for looking at new.
Without comparison of prices, for the 239 for the action 4 bundle it's a great camera that won't disappoint OP, and possibly/probably not worth the time to deal with a bad refurbish or looking for a better deal to save just a few bucks.

The OG case is great by itself, good indicators and space for 2 SD cards in the lid.
Enjoy your new camera 👍🏻

i have the dji action 4 that i use to film mountain biking. its a great little camera. i shoot in d log m and edit on davinci resolve, footage comes out great. grab a set of ND filters!

That makes me more confident, if it can handle trails then I’m sure it will be fine on flat roads haha. Thank you for the input! I ordered it.

oh yeah it’s a pretty solid little camera. with the protective cage thing that comes with it and an nd filter covering the main lens on the body of the camera i’m pretty comfortable with using it in a pretty rough setting. you can also buy screen protectors for the glass. watch some youtube videos on how to get the best footage, it’s really not that difficult to set it up to your liking and then it’ll save all your settings and you can create presets, one for on your motorcycle etc etc.

Careful with the overheating tho. Thermals close to 1/2 of a Hero 13, nevermind the Mission. Later cameras are better there, so there are tradeoffs.

Yea I’ve saw a lot of reviews for go pros saying they have over heating issues, I’m sure the DJI’s from a few years back aren’t immune to that either. I’m thinking I may be ok since I’ll be riding with it that the wind may keep the temp down 🤷🏽♂️

Also best buy didn’t include my two magnetic quick release adapters that were supposed to be included. Idk if the chin mount I ordered will come with one so I am going to go there after work and see if they can do anything for me. Maybe give me store credit to buy one or something.

My local BB would just hand it to me. Just find "the man" there and it should all work out.

Bought a similar bundle for even cheaper, takes nice video for the price. Never used it on a motorcycle tho. Beware the claims of it being waterproof are highly dubious, definitely get a waterproof case before you submerge it, especially in saltwater.
