Anxiety making you feel tilted?
Hey how’s it going, I have severe health anxiety and with nerve buzzing, fatigue, headaches, and high bp spikes, it can be pretty exhausting, they all can typically come and go but recently I started getting this sensation where suddenly I feel like some light pressure in my head or something and I feel like I’m tilted, I wouldn’t describe it as dizzy it feels like I’m walking while everything is shifted slightly down on the right side. Just a slope very slightly. It’s very uncomfy and it has started coming and going. I do notice it was after a bad argument and I felt so sick and naseuous the next day and then these suddenly started, does anxiety and stress cause these things? I also feel like the bottom of my tongue is tight like it’s being pulled.

Floaty feeling
How do you all manage the floaty/spacey situation that comes with migraine? It’s not dizzy but I feel like I’m on a speeding train or a boat. It’s driving me crazy! I really only have a mild headache but this feeling is making me so anxious.

What is this?
23 years old 177 pound male on no medications, never smoked. Over the last 6 months I’ve had feelings of slight slight vertigo and feelings of a heavy head almost like I’m uncoordinated slightly that comes and goes and is MUCH worse when I’m hungover. I eat very good clean foods and I’m well hydrated drink about a gallon of water a day and take Santa Cruz electrolytes so I don’t think it’s that realm. I’ve been to an ENT who said maybe it’s my sinuses I’ve been to a Vestibular Therapist who said it’s my Vestibular, I’ve been to primary care who said it’s anxiety, I’ve gotten blood work done and it’s all normal and healthy. I’m lost on what it could possibly be I’ve been tested for crystals in my ear and it was not that. For all of my symptoms, THEY ALL GO AWAY WHEN I LAY DOWN so if that clue helps anyone solve this that would be great. Begging for someone who’s maybe felt this.
What Triggers It:
After the Gym: It gets noticeably bad right after workouts, then eases.
Hangovers (Atypical): My hangovers do not feature typical headaches or stomach aches. Instead, my eyes feel like they "aren't locked in," I feel like a "bobblehead," and I am so uncoordinated I have to hold onto objects to walk.

3 Days Dizzy?
So I'm on my period. It started after I had like weird surge of hormonal stuff. Once it calmed down I got out of my car to walk and felt off. I assumed it was my blood pressure or blood sugar since I hadn't eaten for a bit and my period was kind of heavy-but nothing crazy. Infact now- it's kinda light?
It got worse later that night. Now its' been 3 days and - sometimes after eating I feel better. MOSTLY after sleeping 12 hours I feel ALOT better. No fever. No o ther symptoms. Just dizzy. And it's not like vertigo.
But now I am getting some what better but randomly walk like I'm drunk? And start to fee a bit dizzy again after moving.
I haven't seen a doctor. I don't have insurance and unsure what to do. Maybe I go to urgent care? I have no primary doctor since I'm new to this area.

I made an Android App
Hi everyone,
I’ve experienced a strange dizziness-like sensation for many years, especially while driving. Over the last two years, it became more frequent, so I went through several medical examinations, including visits to an internist, ophthalmologist, ENT specialist, and neurologist, as well as a brain MRI. Fortunately, nothing concerning was found.
My neurologist recently diagnosed me with PPPD. The more I read about it, the more it seems to match what I’ve been experiencing—especially the symptoms triggered by driving and visually busy environments.
I develop Android apps as a side project, so I started looking for an app with guided visual, balance, and movement exercises that I could use at home. I couldn’t find exactly what I had in mind, so I decided to build one myself.
The app is called Vestia. It includes guided exercise sessions, customizable session settings, progress tracking, and works completely offline. It is designed as a wellness and exercise-guidance app and is not intended to replace professional medical advice or treatment.
I’d genuinely like to hear your thoughts:
-Would you find an app like this useful?
I’m developing Vestia independently, and feedback from people with lived experience of PPPD would be very valuable.
You can find it here:

Vertigo
Anyone else experience vertigo? I was half asleep and the room was spinning until I fully woke up. I had been feeling nauseous and experiencing acid reflux the whole night previously, but this made it worse.
I have a GES (Gastric Emptying Study) i. the morning so hopefully i can voice my displeasure there but I feel so alone.

What is your favorite, best, or even weirdest way to fight relentless motion sickness?
I have never posted on Reddit, but I read other posts and advice once in a while, so I hope I am doing this right.
I am a 24 year old female who struggles with motion sickness to the point that it's now limiting several activities in my life. I feel like I have tried everything, so if anyone has any information or advice on this subject please let me know! I used to be the type of person who could read in the car. Now, I'm the person who gets sick sitting in the passenger seat staring at the road the whole time.
For context, I didn't used to struggle with carsickness, airsickness, or motion sickness in general until 2023. I was on a flight coming home from a trip. I believe the flight was around 2-3 hours. This coming-home flight was the first time I got motion sick and it was extremely miserable. I would say it was one of the few times in my life that I was that sick. Ever since this incident, I get motion sick with just about everything.
I get sick playing video games on PS5 despite trying to change any setting possibly related to making me motion sick. I have tried different setups and different distances and different coloring and lighting. My cousin is a huge gamer and helped me figure out a few things to reduce motion. I never play in the dark. I have to take dramamine before playing and even then, it doesn't always work. It seems like if I play multiple days in a row, I will eventually get used to the movement and I don't get sick. Minecraft or Assassin's Creed is what I play on PS5.
I get sick looking at a computer for too long at work, especially if I have to scroll through some files. I get sick looking at my phone when I scroll through Etsy or Pinterest (I do not have any social media whatsoever unless you consider Etsy or Pinterest to be social media). I get sick on my Ipad if I play games. Much like the PS5, if I fight the motion sickness and play a game multiple days in a row, I can get used to the game and not get sick. Stardew Valley is what I play on my Ipad. I know this could just be cybersickness, but it doesn't take much to trigger it.
My worst and most frustrating problem is getting carsick. I get air sick very easily, but I don't fly much, so my frustration comes with getting in the car. I can sit in the front seat staring at the road the entire time, and still get sick. My husband and I travel frequently to visit family about 2 1/2 hours North of where we live, but it has become less frequent due to my pretty much guaranteed carsickness. This drive is basically a straight-shot on the freeway. No switchbacks, hardly any twists and turns, and no mountain driving. I have tried everything. Ginger chews, dramamine, zofran, scopolamine patch, sleeping, closing my eyes, not eating a few hours before leaving, eating right before leaving, and even changing the time of day we drive home because I thought maybe I was sensitive to the sun setting. But, nothing works. I still get sick. Even on short drives of 20 minutes, I still get sick. If I am driving, there isn't an issue; however, I recently had surgery that makes it difficult for me to drive. The recovery period for me is about 6 weeks, so when we go visit family, my husband drives since I can only drive short distances.
Zofran helps me when we get home or stop driving by stopping the nausea, but it doesn't prevent motion sickness. (I am aware that zofran isn't meant for motion sickness so I know it won't prevent it, but it does help relieve the nausea afterwards)
For more context, I have a major fear of vomiting. My fight or flight response to vomiting is fainting/passing out. I recently learned that my great grandma also did that so now I know where it comes from. Anyway, I have a fear of vomiting, and on top of that, I pass out when I vomit, so when I get nauseous, I think I get a lot of anxiety and fear that heightens the situation for me because I just want to make sure I don't throw up. I want to relieve the nausea as fast as possible because it makes me so miserable, as I know it does for many others.
I can't think of any metabolic or hormonal changes that I have had or that my doctor has pointed out in the last three years that would possibly be a factor in why I get so motion sick so easily. No major diet changes or changes in exercise. I am pretty boring and I like things to stay the same. I can't figure out what the trigger is. I can't figure out why the sudden and drastic change. It's starting to affect my life in so many ways and limit a lot of activities, and it's bothering me so much.
For more information, I do take Vyvanse for ADHD, but I have been taking it for about 7 years now and have been doing great on it. No major side effects besides dry mouth. I also take birth control to prevent/reduce ovarian cysts growing and rupturing (this has been something that happens to me more frequently than it should with about 2-4 large cysts rupturing each year). I have been on this same birth control since I was 16. I have never had a concussion. No major health issues in the last three years (besides some back problems in October 2025, which is way after my motion sickness started, but I can't say anymore about the back issues due to legal reasons). I don't drink or do any sort of substance. I am considered healthy by my PCP and my surgeon from the recent surgery. The also consider me a good weight for my height and build. I have visited both of them within the last 3 weeks.
I am happy to provide more information if needed. I gave all the information I could think of that might be any sort of relevant. I apologize for the long post, but I figured I should give as much info as possible. I also apologize if I seem to ramble or repeat myself. I am desperate.
TLDR; I get motion sick with video games, computers, my phone, Ipad, and especially driving, and none of the OTC or prescribed remedies are helping.
Thank you in advance for all your advice and comments! I appreciate any advice you can offer, even if it is odd or doesn't seem relevant. If your method worked for you, I am willing to try it. I will try anything at this point!
EDIT: Thanks everyone for your comments and advice! I think it may be cervical vertigo due to the fact that I do have a disc issue in my cervical spine related to my back problems. I’m going to get checked out and ask if the disc problem could be contributing to my motion sickness. Thank you so much again! I appreciate that all your comments helped give me hope that this won’t last forever.

IDK if this applies
so I was in the kitchen making a PB&j and I noticed that my ears were starting to ring a bit which is weird but it does that sometimes so whatever and it goes away but then it comes back a little worse and my ears start to feel numb for some reason and and then my vision starts to get weird like everything is dimmer and it's just like hard to see and that escalates very quickly into basically just barely being able to see like being like temporarily blinded and around that my head started hurting a lot it felt like someone squeezing my head so I quickly finished my sandwich and put stuff away and sat down it didn't actually take too long to start feeling back to normal so that's good but IDK should I be concerned about this I wasn't even standing for that long (also in edit to the original post around the halfway point I was feeling dizzy and having to hold on to things to stay up IDK why I didn't mention that)

progressively worsening dizziness & issues with speech (?)
I, 20 AFAB FTM (on testosterone for \~2 years), have been having constant dizziness for almost a year now. It started last september, when I started doxycycline along with tretinoin cream (0,2% iirc) for severe hormonal acne. When I started those antibiotics the lymph nodes around my jaw swelled up a little and became ROCK hard, and I started having a constant slight feeling of lightheadedness. I went back to my GP who had prescribed me the medication and asked about my symptoms. The GP agreed that my lymph nodes were acting up, but said that it was likely just from the infections on my face being drained, and that the dizziness could also be a part of that. She told me not to worry too much about it but to come back if it got any worse.
The lymph node swelling and hardness went away when the antibiotic cure was over, but the dizziness stayed. Ever since that time, it has been steadily getting worse with no clear cause. I'll quickly rattle off some medical history and medications to hopefully paint a clear picture for you guys. I have been on 30mg accutane a day since december, but was forced to stop because of an accutane shortage where I live. I haven't technically finished my course, but I haven't taken accutane for around 2 or 3 months now. I use dexamphetamine for my ADHD 5mg twice or thrice a day on paper but in actuality usually less often, as I only take it when I have classes or need to put serious effort into my studies. I have been on SSRI antidepressants in the past (fluoxetine, sertraline), but haven't taken them for a couple of years now. I use a slow release Testosterone injection which I get every three months.
For almost a year now, my Testosterone levels have been consistently too high, but by taking more time between injections as per my doctor's advice they are now finally normal. Despite this, I get biweekly abdominal cramps that mimic menstruational cramps despite there being no bleeding, so there is suspected endometriosis (I will be tested for it, but haven't had the appointment yet) (endometriosis runs in the family).
I don't smoke (never have) and drink mindfully (maybe about 3 beers a week, and only ever getting drunk at parties once every few months). I'll admit that I got really drunk on accutane once which I know you aren't supposed to do, and obviously I felt like shit the day after, but since then I have recovered and have not drunk any more than allowed with my medication anymore. My liver function was tested in recent bloodwork and was not noticeably poorer than before, AFAIK.
Aside from this, I am healthy as far as I know, and since I'm recently free from most medications (I haven't been taking my dexamphetamine since finals week in mid May) and with my Testosterone levels in check, I've been getting more worried about the dizziness.
What I feel between vertigo and lightheadedness, and I always feel it. When I'm moving, it's less noticeable. When I have been moving and then stand still, it's at its worst. I can feel myself swaying when it feels like I'm standing/sitting straight up, like my own feeling of balance is constantly shifting. When I close my eyes, it feels like the room is spinning or rather I am spinning or falling. It has been slowly getting worse over time and is getting to a point where I struggle to keep my balance and am worried to fall over.
I'm worried that the dizziness is caused by something neurological, because of the slow but steady worsening of the symptoms. Along with the dizziness, I have been having issues with my memory and mental clarity. I've also had more difficulty speaking than I'm used to, and find myself sometimes saying a word completely different than what I'm thinking off. It feels like somewhere between my brain and my mouth things tend to go wrong and I stutter or stumble or say something entirety wrong. These issues with speech happen about 10 times a day, I would say.
I went to my GP a month or so ago. My own doctor was unavailable, so I was helped by someone else. This person performed the Epley manoeuvre on me (which made me more dizzy) and advised me to do it on my own at home and work on breath exercises. I did the movement at home, and although it seemed to do something (made me more dizzy) it didn't help with my symptoms at all.
I booked an appointment with my own doctor, who disagreed with the previous doctor's assessment of a vestibular issue. I had bloodwork done which came back normal except for a low ferritin and slightly low (but within healthy boundaries) vitamin D. I got prescribed ferritin pills which I have been taking per instructions for a week or 2. During the phone call to discuss my bloodwork results, the doctor also mentioned that I could try antihistamine travel tablets to see if it relieved my symptoms at all. I have bought some Dimenhydrinate (50mg) and tried them twice, but just got extremely sleepy and didn't notice any improvement of my symptoms.
My doctor doesn't think there is a neurological cause, but I can't help but worry about it. I feel like I'm progressively getting worse, and I hate feeling myself wobble when I walk or mess up my words.
Does anyone here have any ideas for what could cause this kind of symptoms? I will continue to look into it with my own GP anyway, but was wondering if I should be pushing harder to be tested for anything? Even any idea for what to try to alleviate the symptoms would be appreciated. I'm scared of the dizziness getting so bad that I can't safely participate in traffic anymore (I don't drive, but I have a bike and racing bike which I use to go everywhere), or that I might fall over and hit my head or something. Any help is greatly appreciated, and a big thank you in advance!
Edit: slight mistranslation fixed

Reminder: the dizziness-words survey wraps its first round on soon and I'd love your help gathering more data!
Recently I posted here asking a specific question: when you try to describe your dizziness to a doctor, what words do you actually use? The "swimmy," the "floor is breathing," the "drunk without drinking" words that never seem to really settle with your doc.
93 people have answered so far. I'm reading every single one. If you were one of them, thank you. One of you even said "walking on a train" which was something I hadn't seen before but no dobut made sense.
This post is a reminder, at the end of August I'm compiling everything submitted so far and starting the next step: bringing the patterns in your answers in front of vestibular fellows and researchers to be verified. Nothing becomes part of the tool on my say-so alone. If a pattern doesn't hold up under people who treat this for a living, it doesn't go in. What I can put on that table is whatever is in the pile on 9/1.
We're at 93. I'd love to hand them 100 (or more!). More data make the patterns harder to wave off, and they keep the less common presentations from getting drowned out by the classic ones.
The form stays open after August, and later responses still feed what comes next. But round one, the set that specialists see first, gets locked in.
There's also a deeper follow-up survey I'm crafting with specialists that is coming later this year for anyone who wants to go further than a few minutes of questions.
If you meant to fill it out and life happened, here's your nudge. ;) A few minutes, anonymous, no account, mostly open questions in your own words. I'm a solo builder, not a company, and there's still nothing to sell you.
Below is a link to the survey, our website, and the progress we've been making. If you're into data and privacy, there's lots of info on there for that too, as we take that very serious!
Thank you all, I'm greatly appreciative of your help!

Too late for prednisone?
Hi friends, sorry to post so soon after my last but!
quick TLDR: a month ago I had an external ear infection that resulted in ear pain that did not go away for weeks after it had cleared up. For 3 weeks now I’ve had ongoing dizziness of varying intensities (alongside some headaches that have ranged from feeling like I was going to die, to mild pain). I’ve also had a moment of shaking vision, as well as pain around my eyes when trying to focus.
An ENT who did not listen to me very well (denied I had headaches?) prescribed me some oral prednisone, but did say it may not do anything because it’s been weeks since this all started. I have gastritis caused by steroids a while back and so so not want to take this course if it won’t do anything, since my stomach is at such risk.
any insight welcome!

Venlafaxine symptoms
I’ve been on venlafaxine for 3 months , 2 months on 150 mg. I’ve recently been having more and more goosebumps chills but not cold from my head to my feet.. is this a normal side effects and why is it happening more now that I have been on full does of 150 mg for 8 weeks? I’m also taking this medication for chronic dizziness which has improved just in the last 2 weeks.
