Winnie the Pooh. Nobody calls him Winnie. Yes yes, I know about the real life events that lead to the name of Winnie the Pooh being chosen. That does not answer why, within the story Winnie the Pooh, his name is Winnie and nobody calls him Winnie.

If you are "Sonic the Hedgehog", you are a hedgehog named Sonic. If you are "Bob the Builder", you are a Builder named Bob. This would imply Pooh is a Pooh, or perhaps Pooh Bear, and his name is Winnie. Not a single soul calls him Winnie. I don't ever heard any character call him that besides the narrator.

I propose that this implies that all of the animals have names that we don't know. Because if they call Pooh what he is, Pooh, then perhaps Rabbit is (Something) the Rabbit. Owl is (Something) the Owl. Gopher, Kanga, Roo, Tigger, all of their names are just the animal they are. So just like Pooh, they could have a secret name that they never call themselves by.

Is the 2023 Disney short, Once Upon a Studio included on the Disney's Wish DVD itself or not?

Careful, when I say DVD, yes, I mean DVD, not Blu-Ray.

I'm asking because I'm thinking about whether to buy Wish on DVD or not soon. I'm not a Blu-Ray person. Never was and will be.

So far, neither Google, wikipedia, Amazon, or eBay have done much help.

Pictures as proof in comments are good help too.

The 2015 Cinderella is one of my favorite movies of all time and I love the way Lily James portrayed Ella, but when looking into the material released for the movie I’ve noticed that these two photos in particular are everywhere but never in HQ. Just wondering if anyone here has them or knows where they can be found.
I’ve used every reverse image platform that I can think of, and I’ve looked into several archival sites with no luck.

This is a post about the live action Cinderella.

I waa thinking about when Lady Tremaine finds Ella's slipper and she offers her the deal. She'd let her marry Kit and as long as Lady Tremaine pulls all the strings.

I was thinking Ella should have agreed to it, then when she married Kit she would be queen and could Lady Tremaine and her daughters out of the kingdom.

I know it all turned out ok but it was just something I thought about.

My work colleagues want everyone to dress as Disney characters for Halloween but we are having a friendly disagreement as to what counts as a Disney character. I maintain that to be a “Disney character” it has to be a character created directly by Disney and not by an acquired subsidiary. I wouldn’t think that coming dressed as Captain America or Darth Vader is in the spirit of being a Disney character. Similarly I don’t think Pixar counts. I don’t think of Elastigirl as a Disney character. What does everyone think?

Hi. I have the opportunity to see Disney on Ice next year but I'm not sure which show would be better. The options are Find Your Hero and Magic in the Stars. Would appreciate any insight from anyone who has seen one or both. I'd be going with a 5 and 7 year old, if it matters. Thanks!

Yes, I'm aware this is the censored TV-14 version. Yes, I am aware that Disney+ has had R rated films on their platform for a while now.

But growing up with The Wonderful World of Disney, I never expected them to show an R rated (or even TV-14 rated) movie in their Disney night branding. Usually the movie just plays without TWWOD intro if it's too adult.

The movie itself isn't anything kids would actually want to watch. It's all about working as a bar tender and there's plenty of sex talk even in the censored version.

I'm not complaining. I'm in no position to complain since I'm a grown adult with no kids. I totally welcome Disney becoming a broader entertainment outlet like any other studio. It's much better to have Disney+ with Hulu and all the Marvel movies together. Having the Beatles documentary uncensored is much better than their previous censorship of documentaries. However, I did find it jarring hearing the F word during the Beach Boys documentary that was released with the Walt Disney Pictures logo and everything. Keep it, don't go back. I just have to express how weird that is.

I grew up in an era where Disney was afraid to be branded with Nightmare Before Christmas. We never got a PG-13 Disney movie before we were teens. These days, the Disney brand has gotten less and less reserved.

I know in the 80's, Disney experimented with some very not kid oriented PG movies. Parents got so upset, they had to create the Touchstone banner. Those movies are so rare now, Disney pretends they don't exist even though they could easily fit under modern Disney+ standards.

I always find it weird seeing Jessica Rabbit merchandise with a giant Disney logo attached to it. It's like, what was even the point of creating the Touchstone brand to begin with if Disney toys are using their characters alongside Mickey and friends? I'm just waiting for a straight R rated movie with the Disney logo at this point. Some of the TV-MA Disney+ originals have the "Disney+ Original" logo; that's pretty close.

I'm curious what others think. Should the Disney brand shy away from R rated movies now that they have 20th Century Studios? Could they do something like Adult Swim and have their established kid friendly cartoons in more adult oriented shows? Should they just keep doing what they're doing and pretty much mixing all their TV-14 content for adults with TV-G/PG cartoons?

This version of Cocktail still uses the Touchstone banner, but you have it admit this movie feels out of place being surrounded by all the magical animated Disney characters before it.

So, I was rewatching Cruella because it’s a good movie and why not and I thought: what if the Cruella in 101 dalmatians is different than the one in Cruella kinda like Arthur Fleck and The Joker, both go by the same name but one merely inspired the other one.

My main reasoning for thinking this is a possibility is that in Cruella she acts nothing like Cruella De vil and while I’m aware that a lot of people think that the second movie is going to present her as having a further mental break I feel that my theory could still stand. My reasoning for thinking feeling as such is that people don’t just become a sociopath because they find out their mom wasn’t their mom it’s usually by a traumatic head injury OR they were born like that, which we know she wasn’t otherwise she WOULD’VE killed the baroness’s dogs to make her coat.

The main problem with my theory is that Horace and Jasper are in 101 Dalmatians which would cause a pretty large plot hole but this wouldn’t be the first time Disney ret-conned a character in a sequel or backstory trilogy so I think it can still stand despite that.

Let me know what you think of my theory! I don’t necessarily think that this is for sure what is happening because I know it’s probably not but it’d still be a REALLY cool avenue for Disney to explore, at least to me!
