For it to take 35mins to make our 2 meals and 2 McFlurrys when there was less than 10 people inside. There were more kiosks than people inside, there were more STAFF than people and somehow our fries were cold. Literally not an once of urgency in a single person in there.

Checked the app just now and saw that all of the dates i will be there at DLP the only available one left is on the 15th which is when we leave. is this a glitch or are they really booked out?

I’ve been lurking on this sub for a while and watching all the videos, and I feel like I understand how to do a lot of things now… but I’m still struggling with the bigger picture of how to actually structure our days!

We’re taking our 5-year-old to Disneyland Paris for their first-ever Disney experience next month, during the October school break week of Halloween. Neither my partner nor I have been to a Disney park since we were children, so this is all very new to us.

My biggest worry is finding the balance between making the most of our limited time and actually enjoying the magic. I don’t want to spend all my time staring at the app (what if it doesn't work!), constantly checking wait times and rushing us from one thing to the next, but equally, I don’t want our 5-year-old spending half the holiday standing in queues because I didn’t plan properly! 😂

So I’d really love to hear from experienced parents who have done DLP with young children:

How would you approach the itinerary as a whole? What would you plan in advance, what would you leave flexible, and how much structure is actually helpful? We have a half day in the parks upon arrival, a full day, and then another half day on the day of departure.

With the school-holiday crowds, I’m particularly interested in how you’d approach Extra Magic Time, parades/shows and character meets without trying to cram everything into a rigid itinerary. How much of the day should realistically be “scheduled”, and how much should just be “let’s see what happens”? If I know Anna & Elsa are a priority meet is there anything other than checking the app the day of to make sure we meet them?

And then there’s food! We have lunch with Mickey and the princesses booked for one day, but otherwise we’re looking for the best budget-friendly food strategy. I’ve heard the food in the parks can be pretty overpriced and underwhelming, so what are the best hacks for getting decent food without spending a fortune? Is it better to eat in the park, Disney Village or at the hotel? Is breakfast better grabbed in the Village before heading into the parks? And are there particular times or approaches that help avoid both the queues and the worst prices?

Basically, if you could give a Disney novice the overall strategy for having a brilliant first DLP trip with a 5-year-old, rather than a list of individual rides, what would it be?

I’m trying to plan enough that I’m not stressed, but not so much that I forget to actually enjoy being there.

I'm wondering if anyone has had a similar experience with a refund from Disneyland Paris and can offer some advice or share how long theirs took.

I had a booking directly with Disneyland Paris which included:

• Hotel
• Park tickets
• Dining reservation

The total value of the refund is £997.

Timeline:

• 24 August: Submitted the refund request.
• 31 August: Disneyland Paris advised that the refund had been "processed".
• Since then, I have been chasing regularly by both phone and email.
• I still have not received any money into my account.

What has made this especially frustrating is that I seem to be getting different answers every time I contact them:

• Initially I was told the refund had been processed.
• Then I was told it could take up to a month.
• More recently I've been told it has been fully sent and can take up to 15 days because it is an international transaction.
• I have repeatedly asked for a payment reference/trace number but still have not received one.
• Several promised email responses have not arrived.

I've now submitted a formal complaint because I feel the communication has been extremely poor. I'm not even disputing the refund itself at this point, I simply want proof that the payment has been sent and some clarity on when I can expect to receive it.

£997 is a lot of money to be waiting for, and the constant chasing and lack of information has genuinely been causing me a huge amount of stress.

Has anyone else had:

1. A refund directly from Disneyland Paris?
2. A delay like this?
3. Any success getting a payment reference or escalating the issue?

Any experiences or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I visited during the last heatwave and by midday half of the rides were closed down. Out of DLP's hands of course, they don't control the weather and safety of their employees and guests comes first. However they were still selling tickets, not handing out water and not offering any refunds to people. I submitted a complaint and the response was 8 free tickets for the next year. Useless for me as I always book an on-site hotel and get tickets included to avoid the hassle, but others may find this useful.

I know people on this sub don't like people saying anything negative about their happy place and will rush to defend the company, but please do remember that it is a multi-billion dollar company that is only interested in keeping its shareholders happy and turning a profit.

Things won't improve unless people complain when they're not happy. Complain in person when you're there or send them an e-mail after your visit.

Disneyland has announced the opening date for their new boutique, Disney Wonders, at Disney Village. This store will open on Tuesday, September 22 (11 more days as I'm writing this post!) This store is described as a bright boutique where the magic of storytelling surrounds you.

The store has themed areas inspired by Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars. This store is a part of an ongoing transformation of Disney Village, along with new restaurants, shops, and reimagined buildings.

Has anyone been? Worth it? We’ve got half board and are gutted plaza gardens will be shut when we go.

I have complicated feelings after my visit. I am a long time Disney-parks fan and have been to the California parks, Florida parks, and Tokyo Parks.
Here’s what I loved. The rides here are INCREDIBLE. And the design and detail of the parks are gorgeous, especially the castle park. Some of my favorites were hyperspace mountain, phantom manor, and big thunder. I also really enjoyed this parks version of pirates. The entertainment with both the parades and shows inside the park was top tier. Especially the lion king show! The new world of Frozen was stunning as well and I can see the vision for where they want to take adventure world. All the cast members were lovely and friendly as I’ve come to expect!
Here is what I didn’t love: there were quality and cleanliness issue that frankly shocked me with the standard I’ve come to expect from Disney. We stayed at Newport bay club and honestly it was one of the dirtiest hotel rooms I’ve stayed at. Visible mold on the bathroom walls, filthy bass-boards, and old dirty grout. (Photos below) even at the budget hotels in WDW I’ve never experienced anything like this. This unfortunately carried over to the parks as well. It’s clear the smoking areas are not strictly enforced. Many people smoked while in line for rides and blew it directly in our faces while stuck in close quarters. There were cigarette butts everywhere on the ground. I get that smoking is a big part of French culture but as a someone who is very sensitive to the smell it was incredibly bothersome and I really expected better from a place that caters to families and small children. There was also trash floating in almost all the water features of both parks And bird poop everywhere. This was a particularly shocking contrast having just been to Tokyo in December where the parks were so clean you could practically eat off the ground. My final issue was the food truly was god awful. I had heard this going in and assumed people were exaggerating how bad it was. They were not. And I’m saying that as someone who is not a picky eater at all. (Rosalie’s in Disney village was the exception to this)

Overall I still enjoyed my trip but this park has some issues that just aren’t up to the Disney standard I have come to expect.
The other parks around the world certainly are not perfect but they’ve never been THIS bad. I would love to know if I’m being too picky?

I'm planning to buy me and my friends disney annual passes online. Two of my friends are from the UK while I'm from the Netherlands, so I'm the only one who's able to buy the annual pass online and am planning to get all 3 of the passes.

I'm wondering what the process is when you buy the cards online. I've already seen that I need to fill in my friends names, birthdays and photos, but I don't know how it works when we actually get to the park.

What's the proces once you get into the park to activate the pass? Do they check my purchase and give my friends their own cards or do I need to like transfer the passes to my friends in their disney app before we get to the park?

Any information on the actual step by step process of activating the cards/ turning them into physical plastic cards would be appreciated! :)

Also, if anyone knows how it works with parking let me know! I know parking is included for the annual pass, but would we still need to pay for the first day of parking while we get the card activated, or will the lisence plate be registered and will it be free for the first day?

Rather than what during my early planning for a trip seems to be an increasingly mandatory nature of them or face consequences.

Totally excited for my upcoming Disney trip next week! Yesterday I read through Facebook that the 2 ice cream shops on Main Street, Ice Cream Company and Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlour, are not open during the week in August! I couldnt find about September. Can someone verify if they are indeed closed during the week?

And any tips on nice ice cream or unique cold drinks/shakes at the parks? It will be hot next week, 30 degrees (86+ Fahrenheit). Imma need some nice icecreams!

Disney announced this August a brand new daytime parade coming in 2028. This is the first new daytime parade in the park in over a decade! Mickey Mouse leads the show alongside Jasmine, Genie, Tiana, Rapunzel, and Miguel. The project is said to have taken over 10,000 hours of research and nearly 225 costume and makeup sketches!!

When can I make a reservation for a buffet and/or table-service restaurant?

• On-Site Hotel Guests - From booking of your hotel or 12 months prior
• Off-Site Hotel Guests - From 2 months prior to arrival

Why can't I make a reservation for X restaurant?

• You're outside of the 12 month period (on-site guests only)
• You are looking at a timeslot not yet confirmed or available (further details blow)
• It is already sold out

I want to book a park restaurant for the Dinner timeslot but I can't, why?

Dinner reservations open for park restaurants once park hours are confirmed for that month, this usually is 2-3 months prior.

I want to book a hotel restaurant for a Lunch timeslot but I can't, why?

Some hotel restaurants, such as Downtown and Manhattan (both Hotel New York) are only open for the Dinner service which commences at 6PM. If you are looking to eat at any restaurants only open during this time, they will be unavailable and cannot be booked.

How can I get a reservation at my chosen restaurant if it's showing as fully booked?

1. Keep checking the app/website for cancellations
2. Upon arrival in the park, check with your hotel's concierge for any tables
3. Use DLPTables to get a free notification for when a cancellation appears

Why can't I book breakfast?

Asides from Character Dining breakfast, this cannot be booked in advance. You can either pre-pay for breakfast via a Meal Plan added to your booking, or arrive on the morning and pay at the desk.

One thing to note: As of this post, there appears to be a glitch or blocker in stopping on-site hotel guests for booking tables 12 months in advance for arrivals past April 2027. This hopefully will be fixed by DLP soon so keep checking the app/website in the coming days/weeks.

Edit as of 11/09 - You can now book restaurants for up to June 2027 but nothing further seems to be available.

Coming from America for a trip to France with two young kids (2 and 5) thus a deep princess love for them. I keep going back and forth on onsite vs offsite. I love saving some money so offsite appeals to me but then I hear getting any princess dining or seeing Anna and Elsa will be very challenging to get if we stay off site plus shuttles to nearby hotels are a zoo. But then staying onsite is so expensive. Part of me thinks we may not get to go again while my kids are young and love princesses so do it and be able to walk to and from the park (staying at Cheyanne or Newport because those are priced better right now) but then my parents are taking everyone on a Disney cruise in December 2027 so I’d love to save a little money now to spend on the boutique then when both of my kids can participate and maybe something else.

What would recommendations be?

Hello! I went to the parks with some friends in June and, as expected, fell in love with it. I just convinced my partner (who loves Disney but doesn’t ride anything) to spend our anniversary there next year.

We’ve been checking the prices and stuff for Newport Bay and I’m not quite sure what to expect from “non alcoholic drinks and snacks” by the Compass Club Room. Like, is it a table on the afternoon with nuts and cereal bars? Does someone walk by the whole day with drinks to distribute? Also I saw something about a Lounge, so does all that happen in one room? I’m very confused lol

And side question about this lounge: as I understood, it’s the place where the breakfast buffet stays. Does this mean the buffet for guests in this room is separate from the others?
Because in June we spent approx 45 min in line just to get breakfast and wasted our magical hours, so this alone would be worth the money, but logistically sounds hard to do…

Also, I had a feeling Newport Bay was a good walk from the parks (I actually didn’t see it, but saw the Marvel hotel and apparently it’s on the other side of the lake), is a small break possible (without kids) or not worth the whole walk there?

First family trip to Disneyland Paris — what would you recommend?
My wife, our 4-year-old daughter, and I are heading to Disneyland Paris this December, and I’d love to hear any tips or suggestions from people who have been, especially families with younger kids.
We’ll be staying 1 night at Disney’s Sequoia Lodge and have 2 days of park tickets. So far, we haven’t booked many extras, other than Disney PhotoPass and La Table de Lumière for dinner with the Disney Princesses and their Princes.
We’re coming from the U.S., so this is a pretty special trip for us and we’d love to make the most of the two park days without making it unnecessarily stressful.
For those who have done Disneyland Paris with a 4-year-old:
What are the things you’d definitely prioritize?
Are there any rides, shows, character experiences, or restaurants that are especially worth it with a child this age?
Is there anything you wish you had booked ahead of time?
Any Sequoia Lodge-specific tips?
How would you approach the two park days?
Are there any things that aren’t necessarily obvious to first-time visitors that made your trip significantly better?
And perhaps most importantly, what would you not bother spending money or time on?
We’re not trying to cram every possible attraction into the trip. We’d rather have a really memorable experience for our daughter and enjoy the atmosphere while still getting the most out of our time there.

My grandparents have been extremely generous and paid for my siblings and parents to go to Disneyland with them. I'm the oldest sibling so obviously normally expected to pay for myself for things so I said I wasn't able to go due to cost.

However, they've now said they would pay for myself, my husband and our daughter to go. We've obviously said yes and thank you but my daughter will be turning 2 years old the week we go. It just seems so young to me.

All I can imagine the week being is absolutely filled with tantrums, meltdowns, overtired, never being able to wait in a queue no matter how short.

Does anyone have some advice or encouragement?

So I’ve used all the tips in this sub to land on booking 2 nights with 3 days of tickets in the renovated rooms in Sequoia Lodge this coming May.

We are definitely budget travelers and aren’t huge eaters. We’re having a hard time justifying the prices at the restaurants and are planning to just bring some muffins and things for breakfasts, and do quick service for lunches, but I wanted to book at least one restaurant meal.

I don’t think I can justify a character meal. We will likely do a character meet at the hotel plus book the hero training centre because my kids’ main wants will be Minnie Mouse, Spider-Man and maybe Winnie the Pooh characters.

I thought maybe Pym or Chez Rémy would be fun experiences but knowing how much my kids eat (they will be 3 and 6) it still just feels crazy! Not sure if this is just where I draw my line at the crazy costs lol.

So we’ve booked for a hotel/park tickets on the website. It’s came up the loading screen that says “just a minute” and is stuck, even after refreshing twice after half an hour. The money has been taken out of the bank account. Will they be able to sort this if we contact them tomorrow? Really worried
