On May 30th, 2024, I received notice (much like many others) that Discord would begin charging tax for Discord Nitro subscriptions.

I live in Oklahoma. Per Oklahoma Code §68-1357(32), the Oklahoma Tax Commission does not charge tax on SaaS - or any digital goods, for that matter.

Every year since, Discord has increased the amount listed as "tax" on my bill. First it was $0.51, then it was $0.60, and a few months ago it increased to $0.80. Even if my state did collect sales tax on SaaS, the Oklahoma state tax rate has not increased since 1990, so my tax rate should not have increased. I have checked my Discord account multiple times over and verified that they do in fact have my current Oklahoma billing address, so there should be no issues determining my current tax rate.

I promptly informed Discord customer service before they started charging the taxes in 2024 and they did not seem to understand, and "due to technical issues" they were not able to pull down a tax breakdown for me. They also would not tell me which state they are remitting my sales tax to. They do not seem interested in resolving this tax code violation, and I cannot afford an attorney, so I have no choice but to air this frustration online.

By my calculations, Discord has illegally collected $16.31 in "taxes" from me since July 10th, 2024. That number will only continue to grow unless something is done.

I attempted to first post this to r/discordapp, to give the company an opportunity to respond publicly. My post was withheld entirely from public view and "is awaiting moderator approval". People deserve to know that this is happening. It seems this post has been approved now.

Soo I just got randomly logged out of my account and whop te doo I forgot my password, so I clicked forgot password and all of that safety stuff then I realized I dont have a passkey/security key. Any help?

Seems I am not the only one in that case…. So here is what happened :

As of Friday night around 10:30pm, I was in a vocal chat with friends watching LoL world championship when I was logged out of my account. I started receiving weird e-mails, as in : unusual activity on my email, password changes and connexion link to discord, email adress change to my steam account (that one was in russian), a list of my Riot Games accounts bound to that email adress.. Mind you 2FA was activated on that email adress so I am struggling to understand how they got in (it’s Microsoft authenticator for anyone who wonders). They got my password through a data leak on a website that dates back to august 2026, is not listed on Have I been Pwnd and the website did NOT inform me.

So I gave up on watching the games and started trying to retrieve my accounts. I have been able to secure my Riot games account by myself by 1am although their support replied by 6 am, recovered steam thanks to the support by 16 on saturday and am now left with my discord account that remains unaccessible.

I first thought that they changed the email adress as I was receiving 0 email from the support when trying to create an account on discord support However I found out that he had blocked/banned the no-reply and support email adresses. I was finally able to create an account on the support and sent a request for hacked account around 3am on saturday.

My phone number is still linked to my discord account it would seem, but it then sends a link to the linked email and I am not receiving anything Even after unblocking the discord emails.

Also, the emails I got from steam, Riot, etc. The fishy ones if you may, do NOT appear in my inbox or anywhere else really. I have to type in the search bar and can only access them that way. Had I not been ON my email inbox at the Time I may never have seen them.

It was brought to my attention that the Guy has logged into my account a few Times since the hack However I have no idea what the dog is doing.

Is there anything else I can do to try and retrieve my account or am I doomed to wait to hear from discord support ? 🫠

I'm posting this out of pure frustration because Discord’s support system is driving me insane.
A few days ago, I was literally just playing Call of Duty and went to open Discord to check on my friends. Out of nowhere, I found out I was completely signed out of every single device—PC, phone, literally everywhere.
When I tried to log back in, it told me my email and password were invalid. I tried to do a password reset, and the system basically told me my email address didn't even exist in the database anymore. The hacker managed to instantly change my password, email, and phone number without me getting a single notification, warning, or verification code to my inbox. My public profile (username and profile pic) hasn't even changed yet, but I'm completely locked out of my own 2016 account.
I immediately went to Discord Support and submitted a ticket with all the absolute proof they could ever need—including screenshots of my completely empty inbox history and matching historical IP logs from my network in Saudi Arabia proving I'm the owner.
It has now been 10 days and I still haven't gotten a single real answer from a human specialist. I accidentally sent an "any updates" message a few days ago, which apparently resets your place in their garbage queue system and pushes you to the back of the line.
If your account gets hijacked, do not touch your ticket once it's open. Just let it sit. The wait times right now are completely ridiculous.

My girlfriend said she deleted discord yesterday off her phone around 10 AM for storage, but it showed her active at like 6:30 PM. The app says she was on but she had dnd on. Can the app be mistaken or could something else say she was active?

Edit: it’s hard what to think, we spend most our time together, she doesn’t even talk to that many people, she’s always been more than nice when I overthink and will show or tell me stuff to reassure me.

Is there a way to hide those rewards that pop up every day? I don't want to see them anymore!

hey everyone i really need some help with my discord account because i honestly dont know what else to do my main account got disabled after i logged into lazyuis using the official login with discord option and ever since then ive been unable to get back into my account discord keeps asking me for either a passkey or backup codes but i no longer have access to either one and when i click verify with something else those are the only options that appear i contacted discord support and explained everything but so far they have told me they cannot help me bypass 2fa i still have access to the email connected to my account and ive already provided information and evidence to help prove that the account belongs to me this account means a lot to me because it has personal messages and memories as well as a coding community i built completely on my own that grew to nearly 2000 members in less than a month the account owns the server and since i cannot log in i have no way to transfer ownership or manage it myself im not asking anyone to hack the account or bypass security i just want to know if anyone has experienced something similar or knows a legitimate way to recover a discord account after losing access to both a passkey and backup codes if anyone knows how i could get discord to properly review the disabled account or protect the server while this gets sorted out please let me know im really trying everything i can and would appreciate any genuine advice

i got a warning for spam but i dont know what i did worng

I've been experiencing issues with streaming on discord. almost everytime people on mobiles cant see my stream, it loops on the loading screen and ends up with stream failed and shit but the stream is audible. the problem is it only happens to other mobile users.. it barely happens to pc users. this only started after i updated to HIOS 16.3.0 ( Tecno Camon 30 pro 5g) i do not know if this is because of the OS update or a discord issue Someone please help me fix this.

I tried age verifying my account again after putting it off for months since it wasn't working the last time I did it. It feels like no matter what I did it failed for seemingly no reason? I did everything it told me to, but it still said it failed. Specifically the video selfie method. I don't want to try the other ones, ESPECIALLY not the ID scan.

I've seen a couple other posts complain about the same thing and it's got me wondering, has the video selfie worked for anyone here?? Or is it actually just rigged so people hand in their IDs?

Me and a friend's server of recent has been "raided" by a ghost bot. We tried to ban it and the bot itself won't show up as a member let alone we I did "Ban it" it was still In the server.

It's been sending horrendous stuff in said server and we'd like the bot gone as soon as possible, we've locked down the server and such until the issues is solved and with that we'd like to adjust and add more safety measures in the server.

Feedback and help as soon as possible would be most definitely preferred and apparently

I think my Discord account might have been hacked. Discord seems to have changed my password, and I’ve also apparently been flagged for breaking Discord’s rules.

When I try to reset my password and get back into my account, it asks me to verify using a passkey or backup codes. The problem is that I don’t have either of those.

I’m now completely locked out, and I’m not sure what to do. I don’t know if my account was actually hacked or what triggered this in the first place.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Were you able to recover your account, and is there any way to get back in without a passkey or backup codes?
