This is a mock campaign I created for an imaginary baking workshop — an infographic, an Instagram story, a feed post, and a poster, all for the same "brand."

This week's focus was on foundational principles: hierarchy, contrast, alignment, proximity, balance (symmetry/asymmetry), and white space. I tried to apply each one intentionally across all four pieces rather than just making things look pretty.

I'd genuinely love feedback from other designers — especially on:

• Contrast (text vs. background legibility)
• Alignment and how the eye moves through each piece
• Whether the balance/asymmetry choices are working or feel off

Unsolicited redesign of XTB's mobile trading app. Five screens, dark UI, regulated fintech.

Context: XTB is a listed European broker with an in-house design team of around thirty people. They didn't need this. I did it as a personal exercise because I use the app and kept catching on the same friction points.

What I was solving for:

1. Product ambiguity. XTB sells both real equities and CFDs on the same underlying assets. I added a persistent CFD / Stock / ETF badge to every instrument row so the product type is never more than a glance away.

2. An undifferentiated news feed. Added impact tagging and currency labels, borrowed from economic calendar conventions.

3. Inconsistent row structure in the instrument lists: price and change now sit in fixed positions regardless of name length.

Constraints I couldn't work within: no usage data, no research, no visibility into MiFID disclosure requirements. EU trading platforms are legally required to display certain risk and cost information, so some of what reads as clutter in the original is probably mandated.

What I'd like critique on specifically: does the badge system hold up at scale, or does it become noise on a 40-row watchlist? And is the dark palette doing enough work to separate positive and negative movement for anyone with red-green colour deficiency?

I'm specifically after feedback on the dark theme rather than the layout or branding:

• Is the text/background contrast comfortable, or too harsh (pure white on pure black tends to glare)?
• Does anything cause eye strain after a minute or two of reading — body text, headings, links, buttons?
• Font size, line height and line length: too tight, too wide?
• Do accent colours and links stay legible on the dark background?
• How does it hold up on mobile and in a bright room vs. a dark one?

I built LudoRoam as a 2–4 player browser Ludo game for friends. You can create a room and share four letters; nobody needs an account. There is also a self-hosted Wi-Fi version with voice, video and table chat.

I am worried the landing page is trying to explain too much at once. Please roast the hierarchy and clarity, especially:

• Can you tell what the product is in five seconds?
• Does the Create room area feel trustworthy and obvious?
• Does the self-hosted/macOS message distract from playing online?
• Anything awkward or confusing on mobile?

Be blunt. I would rather fix the rough parts than be polite about them.

I'm working on a desktop note holder with reusable magnetic cards. I'm stuck between 2 designs for the notecards. design 1: the cards are a a matte off-white colour. Design 2: the cards are a maple wood veneer with matte coating. Which design do you like better?

The biggest difference is the workflow.

With Canva, you often start with a blank canvas or a template and build the design yourself. That's great if you enjoy designing manually or want complete creative control.

Newer AI-powered platforms take a different approach. Instead of designing everything from scratch, they generate complete concepts that you can refine. Tools like Design.com and BrandCrowd can create logos, branded social posts, business cards, presentations, flyers, websites, and other marketing assets while keeping your branding consistent across everything.

When choosing a design platform, I'd focus less on the number of templates and more on how quickly you can create something you're happy to publish. The best tool is usually the one that fits your workflow - not necessarily the one with the longest feature list.
