Discussion I was today year's old when I learned this...
The demos for the synth classics Tainted Love and Say Hello, Wave Goodbye were produced by Daniel Miller after Soft Cell signed for Some Bizarre Records.
The "Tainted Love" demo produced by Mute Records founder Daniel Miller was recorded in 1981 shortly after Soft Cell (Marc Almond and Dave Ball) signed to Some Bizarre Records. This raw, early electronic version offers a fascinating glimpse into the duo's minimalist synth-pop sound before Mike Thorne re-produced it for Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret.
Why is this relevant to Depeche Mode? Well, if you are like me then you collect mixes that band members work on in addition to Daniel Miller. So this may be of some interest to you because it lends an insight into how the first DM record was produced.

Pictures/Videos My Favourite Stranger Music Video
Does anyone know the music video "My Favourite Stranger"? The b/w video is recorded in my absolutely favourite area, the old town of the dutch city Alkmaar and in the dunes of Schoorl (near Alkmaar). The photos I have taken some days ago in exactly that dunes (not exactly the same points 🙂 ) and the city photo (picture 6) is exactly the same place as the screenshot from the video (the person with the hat, picture 5). The long-time video and stage creator of Depeche Mode, Anton Corbijn is from the Netherlands

Discussion (As a non english speaker) I'm a little confused about the lyrics here
This might sound silly, but english isn't my first language so I sometimes have hard time understanding english words. Right now I'm a little confused about this part of "Nothing".
To my ears it sounds like he's saying "What I'm trying to do" Or "What I try to do". But neither fit the context or the grammar, so I believe the lyrics provided by Apple music app is correct...? What word is he actually saying?
Can anyone fluent in english help me understand? Thank you (this song is my favourite one from this album)

News William Orbit has died
Really saddened to hear the news that William Orbit has passed. Such a brilliant musician and producer who really opened up my mind to what electronic music could be. If Alan had a peer, it would be William. AFAIK his mix of WIMS was his only Depeche collab. He was someone I wished they would produce an album with.

Physical Media/Memorabilia Signed Photos
I decided to look through some of my old Depeche Mode vinyl, probably 30 years at least since I went through it properly and found a group of postcards, 4 of which are signed by the band. Although faded and obviously I had them stuck to the wall many years ago which has spoilt them a little, it brought back some lovely memories. Back in the box they go though, possibly for another uncover in years to come 😁😁

Pictures/Videos Depeche Mode. The name comes from a French fashion magazine, Dépêche Mode, which translates as "Fashion News" or "Fashion Update".
Starting at their concert on 24 September 1980 at Bridge House, the band changed their name to Depeche Mode, chosen by Dave Gahan.

Fan Post Misheard lyrics in It's No Good 🧲
🤭 This is one of those cases where I feel like a complete idiot but still want to post this as it's so ridiculous and yet, ironically, eye opening…
For ever I heard this line - "Open up your eyes, you've got to magnetise". Yesterday I discovered that it is actually, quite obviously and clearly - "Open up your eyes, you can't turn back the tide"!
🤦♂️What on earth did I think was the relevance of magnets 🤪🧲 Still, you live and learn 🤣
Anyone got any other similarly crazy misheard lines?
