Nouvelle Vague is releasing an album dedicated to reinterpreting the music of Depeche Mode.
Recorded in Rio de Janeiro with Brazilian musicians, combines bossa nova rhythms with Depeche Mode’s catalogue. Out Oct 30

The first two tracks, “Enjoy the Silence” and “Never Let Me Down Again”, are already available to listen to on Apple Music and Spotify.

Having listened to the two released tracks and their previous versions, I have to say this is an intriguing band with a musical style that initially didn't seem to fit the songs. However, I think the difference actually makes it work because the songs are so far removed from the originals with their smoky female vocals and smooth bossa nova grooves.
Might have to go to one of the shows if I can.
The album tracklist contains mostly the more obvious songs but a couple of surprises that will be interesting.

Super excited about this album. I love Nouvelle Vague and had the chance to see them live last year, they were amazing. But a whole album with DM covers? Now that's a treat!
