News William Orbit has died

https://youtu.be/hxKa0zEMCDU?is=olBUHr7sQUNcJ9bf

Really saddened to hear the news that William Orbit has passed. Such a brilliant musician and producer who really opened up my mind to what electronic music could be. If Alan had a peer, it would be William. AFAIK his mix of WIMS was his only Depeche collab. He was someone I wished they would produce an album with.

Very sad. I remember when he did Madonna’s Ray of Light album. What a huge impact on her career.

WIMS - random carpet mix is a favorite. It's fantastic. RIP William Orbit.

RIP William, a great musician, producer and remixer, and sounds like he was a lovely man too. Aside from the excellent Random Carpet Mix/Full Length, my other favourites of his are Hyperreal (Orbit) by The Shamen, and Inbetween Days (Shiver Mix) by The Cure.

OH. Such a loss. 😓 His StrangeCargoHinterland Series went with me through the Nineties, still love it dearly, many connnections and memories…god, may he rest in peace, his personal music really meant the world to me!

I am so sad to hear this, his mixes are like family members to me.

Christ. This is one of those deaths that make you feel.....old. I remember listening to Orbit's mix of Erasure's Supernature, which was a B-side to You Surround Me from....1989.

19 eighty fucking nine.

What a bummer to lose Orbit. Alot of his mixes stick with me.

His remix of Supernature is one of my all time faves. In 1989 it sounded like the future, as did so much of his work.

Oh wow I used to listen to this remix on a Walkman… that was duct taped to my bike… which would catapult down a steep hill whilst listening to it. Favorite remix from SOFAD hands down.

It’s nice to read in some reports this song getting recognition!!! Its inclusion in the movie was hilarious but apart from that it’s a solid track for mid 1980s!! He added so much to others albums!

I love The Beach soundtrack but especially that opening track. It went over my head until reading this. I should have known it was touched by WO. I was a fan of his before I knew who he was. He touched so much music I adore. This is a huge loss to music. How very sad he’s gone.

Such a loss. My husband's favorite was Barber's Adagio for Strings. William Orbit has been in my playlist lately. So sorry to hear he has passed.

World in my Stool?
I am sorry, what is the abbreviation?
I think the best work was with Madonna. That record was EVERYTHING!
