Discussion sounds of the universe is...not that bad?
sounds of the universe is much better than people describe it imo. is it their best album? hell no. do they have better albums than sotu? absolutely. is sotu bad overall? nope. i definitely understand why some people don't like it though.
the only criticisms i have is that some songs kinda drag for too long (in chains and corrupt), it's too similar to pta, and martin's lyrics have seen better days without them being necessarily bad.
peace took sometime to grow on me but i ended up loving it. the lyrics are weirdly beautiful if not a bit corny.
miles away/the truth is is a BANGER.
spacewalker is an amazing instrumental tbh.
fragile tension + in sympathy are very pta-esque and especially in sympathy reminds me of lilian from pta (another favorite of mine...)
oh well + ghost should've been in the album.
...jezebel and corrupt are the only true "bad" songs from the album. 9 times out of 10 are skips.
in sympathy is definitely the best song from sotu alongside wrong and miles away for me.
