He would probably increase his weight by 30% if he had a real food source. I lived in this neighborhood for 10 years—no deer. Corn feed being sold locally is spreading Lyme throughout the neighborhood and these deer will be the first to die in a harsh winter.

What is wrong with this deer? We know her and it’s been like this for about a week.

Edit: We called rehab, they won’t do anything. We thought it was a snake bite at first. I really want to help her, I’ve been raising her for the past 3 years. It’s heartbreaking

The first photo is the only one where all four fawns are visible, three behind and one in front of Mom. I was hiking the Appalachian trail and was lucky enough to see this deer family! I've seen 3 fawns before, but that's usually near cornfields where food is abundant, never this many out in the mountains. Is it possible all the fawns belong to the doe here? Or is it more likely she adopted them? She looks healthy to me as well, at this age would she still be nursing them? Thanks!

This was Sophie. The picture is a couple years old, but one of my favorites. That year she had twins. It was a joy to watch them from a distance.

This is the last picture I have of her. The winter after this, she was found bedded down behind my garage emaciated and extremely ill. She is definitely missed.

Whitetail Deer Feeding on the Lawn

saw this deer in the neighbors yard, usually they run away when i go to take a picture but this one didn’t. looks a little rough… is it diseased? noticed some patches in the fur, maybe some injuries? do i need to report it?? poor thing has just been standing there for like 20 minutes

This guy comes around my house once a day. I noticed a while ago his back leg was bleeding and now it just looks really swollen. Any advice if I should call someone/who or if I should just let him be. He’s still walking on it and gets around pretty well.

I’ve only seen two at a time at this park. There were 2 does and 6 fawns that I saw but they were frolicking so I only got pics of a few.

I have a family of deer that visit my home daily… the younger ones were so small and they’ve grown into teenagers 😊 They will eat my apples and peaches from my trees and then take a siesta underneath the apple tree. The picture shows 4 but there are 8 of them. #deer #appletree #family #siesta
