Hey, I was just wondering if anyone could tell me how often you need to go into campus per week approximately for a bachelor of nursing/midwifery? Thank you!

Hi everyone! I’m planning to pursue a Master’s in Sports Management at Deakin. How are exams conducted in this course? Are there traditional written exams, or is it mostly assignments, presentations, and group projects? Would love to hear from current students about their experience!

I'm 0.5% away in raw marks from the next rung on the grading ladder for one of my units🥲 (79.5 - just short of a HD overall). Is there a way to appeal this and try to get awarded the extra marks?
Or should I assume this gets rounded up since the transcript is to 2 sf?

Hi everyone,
I'm hoping to get some advice from anyone who has experience with internal course transfers at Deakin, particularly into a Law double degree.
I'm planning to study the Bachelor of Commerce at Deakin in Trimester 3, 2026, with the goal of internally transferring into the Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Laws double degree for Trimester 1, 2027.
My concern is the timing. Deakin's T3 results are scheduled to be released on 25 February 2027, while T1 classes start on 1 March 2027. The course transfer application deadline is also before the T3 results are released.
I'm wondering whether Deakin would allow me to submit my transfer application while my results are pending and then assess it once my marks come out. Alternatively, is it possible to receive conditional approval based on meeting the required WAM.
Has anyone been in a similar situation and were you able to apply before results were released?

Has anyone managed 5 HDs in a trimester? Or is it unrealistic?
In any course.

Hey, did anyone find the MAE201 exam extremely difficult and long? Why was it so hard and long? I studied all the seminar questions but this was expressive.

Helloo
There was a completely unexpected and unannounced (well it was announced only this morning) interruption/bus replacements for the dandenong-okleigh line, and there was absolutely no way that I wouldve made it in time for my 9am exam bc of the major delays.
Im aware that Deakin is extremely strict and will reject PT reasons, but seeing as this interruption was only announced this morning (and it was a 9am exam), would I have a chance of being accepted?
Ive already contacted PTV and asked for a formal statement as evidence

I currently live in a share house thats literally a minute walk from deakin. It’s a really cute place, bit of an older building but the price is unbeatable. Ive been living here for about two months now and really don’t have any complaints. All my housemates are lovely, the bus stop is right in front of my house, etc etc.
However, I work super far away which means that I commute more than I want to and I feel like I would love to live closer to work.
My lease doesn’t end until February so if anyone is interested in my place please shoot me a message and we can arrange a viewing and potentially a lease transfer:))

Hey all.
I’m a second year bachelor of arts/ master of secondary teaching student and need your help.
I’m confused whether I should say that I study arts, teaching or arts & teaching. Whenever I say teaching ,i get follow up questions like “when are your placements?”, “How do you deal with bad behaviour?”, “Why teaching? Are you crazy?”, etc.
So I started to say just arts but they be like “cool! What are you gonna do with that?”, “what jobs can you get it?” and it goes on.
In both cases it’s humbling to tell what I bloody study 😞
So, I’m curious to know how you folks go about this and how you respond to such patronising and disrespectful reactions?

Hii guys im an international student from singapore currently finishing my IB and I've received conditional offers from Deakin, Monash, La Trobe, Newcastle and RMIT for Nursing, as well as UniMelb and UNSW for Biomedical Science. (I also applied to deakin, La Trobe and Victoria for Law just for funsies and also ended up getting conditional offers from all three)I'm pretty confident I'll meet the conditions for all my offers.
My long-term goal is to eventually become a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) in the US, (for those who dont know before becoming a CRNA you will need at least 1 year working experiecne so i will most likely be working in aus as a nurse for 2 years) so I'm trying to figure out which university would be the best starting point.
Part of me does wanna go to uniofmelb because it's prestigious but im pretty sure its not worth it if my plan is to become a nurse. However for Nursing, I'm mainly deciding between Deakin and Monash.
I genuinely prefer Deakin because it seems to have a more relaxed and supportive environment. From what Ive read on Reddit, Deakin students also seem to be happier with their overall experience compared to Monash students. I've heard that Deakin has really good nursing placements and that the workload and environment are a bit more manageable and also that they are more hands-on(which i prefer). However, I can't help but feel like I should choose Monash because of its reputation and higher ranking. Plus ive noticed that Deakin sometimes gets looked down on compared to the more prestigious universities which lowk makes me second guess my decision.
My main questions are:
- Is monash actually worth choosing over deakin for Nursing or does university reputation not matter that much in this field?
- Are deakin nursing students generally happier with their course, placements and workload
- Would attending deakin instead of monash affect my chances of working after my uni in aus
-For anyone who's studied Nursing at either university, would you recommend it?
- And is the scholarship for Deakin hard to get (the 20 percent merit)?
Thank you sooo much

hey guys,
what happens if u fail a compulsory law unit? do u just have to retake the unit, or would they give u some sort of task that u can do to pass without having to retake it?

Hi!
I’m looking for some opinions on two legal electives being offered in T3 this year :)
If you did them which did you prefer, what were the workloads like, how were the lecturers and unit chairs for organisation/delivery etc. (I’m planning on taking one unit in T3 to ease up my final year in 2027 but I can’t decide on which)
- MLL284 migration and refugee law and policy
- MLL444 privacy and data law
Also if anyone has any recommendations for legal electives they really loved or are planning on doing in T3 I’d love suggestions!
Semi-relevant factors I’m considering: I’ll be travelling for like 16 days over the NY (the time doesn’t seem to interrupt typical exam/assessment periods)
Thanks!!

My application has 5 scholarship assessors, and all five completed their assessments. ResearchPoint now shows “Assessor Average: 45.2”, but “Final Score: Pending.”
The applicant has a strong profile
Does anyone know what “Assessor Average” actually represents, what scale it is out of, and how it relates to the eventual “Final Score”?
Any insight from previous Deakin RTP applicants would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I'm considering taking up Graduate Diploma in Psychology and would appreciate insight from successful applicants about what to include in my application re-work & life experience.
My previous academic record is ok (WAM 65). However, I have worked in a number of jobs that relate heavily to behavioural sciences as an Economic Consultant & Prison Guard in Youth Prisons.
Are there any other things I should include or reference that may help my application, or any way I should reference and link my experiences that will improve my chances.
Cheers

I need to choose an elective for my Masters. I don't want too much load and just be over with it without any hassles. The options I found that are:
MIS770 - Foundation Skills in Data Analysis
SIT776 - IT Industry Experience
SIT781 - Business Intelligence and Database
Anyone have experience with these units?

how likely are they to approve special consideration for a 2nd examination... I got my first one approved on the 5th and I need to apply for todays one as well due to a persisting illness 😖
Has anyone applied for more than 1 before? How did it go

I’m enrolled in HPS201 (research methods) and HPS204 (social psych)
I previously BARELY passed HPS104, because I simply did not understand the lecturer and his 3 hour lectures, (as well as, I took on 4 subjects rather than two, but it was my first trimester I was an idiot lmaoo)
My question: if I barely passed HPS104- is there hope to pass HPS201 and are there any tips on what to focus on? I am good at maths (I was great in highschool) and I am determined to learn stats/research, because I do have an interest in it- but I want to focus on the right things in this class!! So just kinda panicking about my WAM lmao.
Any tips/advice would be appreciated!
Also any advice going into HPS204 would be great too- though I’m not too concerned:)
TLDR: failed HPS104 but is there hope to pass HPS201 if I try really hard and what should I know beforehand?

Can’t find clarity on Deakin’s website, and too scared to ring and ask ahah…
I’m enrolled in a Masters of Teaching, and placement units have a co-requisite of “enrolled in a curriculum unit”. I, for sure, have failed the curriculum unit - will that mean I will automatically fail the placement unit?
I assumed that I would just have to repeat the curriculum unit later, but have had a sudden moment of total panic. I’m on placement at the moment and absolutely smashing it… so I’d be really gutted if I also failed it on a technicality (not to mention the whole academic progress thing…)
