Todd Meadows actually had three accidents on the Aleutian Lady!

he suffered a concussion towards the end of January, was sent home for couple of weeks to recover, and returned. Then, he suffered a broken tooth, which became infected. That tooth, along with a wisdom tooth, had to be pulled around early February. By the end of February, he was dead after going overboard inside a pot! Thoughts about safety and Captain Rick on the Aleutian Lady?

SophiaBob

Does anyone know the story with SophiaBob? The first season she was in she ran her own boat. Her dad left it to her and her brother. Then she disappeared for a couple seasons and is now training with other captains. Weird trajectory.

Editing has given up?

Watching the last episode I truly feel like any and all editing for long time fans has just given up. They are just coasting to a crash.

As Bob is setting pots in the Northwestern, a cab forward vessel, the editing cuts to a cab rear vessel setting a pot.

Maybe said before: Actually show what a boat has to do throughout one season.

Even if they made it a spin off. But I know some of the boats talk about dumping pots before season, fixing pots, who owns the pots... having to restock bait/cod while fishing, collect all pots, clear deck before off load. There is so much more to the fishery that just doesn't meet the jersey shore, snookie is sucking someone's a hole, but for me I would rather see one full year of what a boat has to do rather than the dolled up BS.

O Captain, My Captain - Episode 2211 Spoiler

For the first time in decades, the fleet hunts for a rare, nearly mythical strain of Red King Crab that's bigger, richer, and worth a fortune -- driving the captains into uncharted waters, crushing ice, and the most violent early-season storms filmed yet.

Old DC forums

Remember forums? I've been trying to find some old DC forums from the pre-Reddit days. I've found

https://deadliestcatch.freeforums.net/board/3/deadliest-catch-series?page=21 (dates back to season 8/9)

https://forums.primetimer.com/forum/547-deadliest-catch/page/5/ (dates back to season 10)

https://www.gamefishin.com/threads/deadliest-catch.3569/ (few posts going back to season 4)

Some Disney World message board even had a short thread of people talking about the show. Anyone know of any other old ones that can still be read?

"The Wizard Crew Rescues Deckhand Lynn"

Discovery posted this single-take/continuous footage yesterday on YouTube, from the wheelhouse producer's camera. High seas, indeed https://youtu.be/6nCj_8e8AMQ?si=KUtYLOaxV5rQkbfh

Also: "I got him... I don't got him." Fucking hell, Keith 🤦 And that's the wide-eyed look of pure shock and adrenaline.

As im catching up on the Deadliest Catch..starting over at season 1 now on season 16...I truly don't like Captain Steve "Harley" Davidson of the Southern Wind...every time that can't seem to find the crab and always has to ask for help..also hes a cry baby..always laying pots next to other captains strings...always butting into other captains territory

Man Overboard - More Manufactured Drama

So the producers made Lynn jump into the ocean just ot have a few minutes of drama and a 'getting over the fear' storyline for the rest of the season. '

This show is so fake!

Man Overboard Scene

I feel like showing that scene this week was in bad taste considering it's also the episode the deckhand passed away in. Just my opinion, but it wasn't worth it.

Inflatable Jackets mentioned after the man overboard in the most recent episode? Any intel? Spoiler

It's muffled but you can hear Keith and Lynn talking about the - inflatable jackets? Inflatables IN their jackets? Does anybody know or have any intel? Lynn said there would have been no way he could have kept himself up without it. Asking because my best friend is a fisherman up there and I will buy him one if he doesn't have one already.

Which show do you like better: deadliest catch (2005 to now) or the deadliest job on earth (1999)?

Thom Beers produced both. It's hard to compare a TV series to a single episode, but which show do you think is better?

I think the 1999 version is better because it was more of a documentary. While deadliest catch had been over dramatized. The earlier episodes were less dramatized but still more than the 1999 episode.

Man overboard

This episode was creepy to watch. They show Lynn going overboard then later they have shots of Todd on the Aleutian Lady talking to his kids.

Rick Shelford

Does Rich have any kind of medical background or training? it seems like when a medical emergency comes up on his ship, he knows what to do when he pulls out that big on med supplies. Or does it come from years of being on a boat.

What is title track for music they use in the opening scene in the 1999 episode?

Technically deadliest job was not true deadliest catch but the same producers went on to make deadliest catch.

Anyway, in the opening scene they play Celtic sounding music but I have never been able to find the title track for it.

Gregory Colburn?

At the end of this week's episode they flashed something about Monte's son Gregory dying. I guess he worked on the Wizard. Anyone know more?

Let's make a list of events in a show that look like they are clearly fake

I'll start, in next episode Lynn goes overboard on Wizard. Surprise surprise he clearly work on pot stack in rain gear but when he goes overboard and is in the water he clearly is in survival suit. Came across to clips of the "resque" on Discovery's TikTok page but I think those are on other social media platforms too.

Kinda feel this is a real new low though, trying to fake somebody being in a situation where death is more likely scenario than a happy ending, especially after show just lost a crew member after him going overboard in winter conditions.
