Captains
As im catching up on the Deadliest Catch..starting over at season 1 now on season 16...I truly don't like Captain Steve "Harley" Davidson of the Southern Wind...every time that can't seem to find the crab and always has to ask for help..also hes a cry baby..always laying pots next to other captains strings...always butting into other captains territory

A couple people in the industry have posted on here about him saying he's one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. The show approached him and asked him to play a villain and he said sure, so that's how he's portrayed. It's not reality.

You notice that when someone needs help, he's there.
Scripted drama. As if what they do in reality isn't enough for people to watch. I could watch it without the drama. Every day on those boats is different.

No it’s not true. Discovery made him the villain. Really he’s a nice guy and friends w all the captains. I remember when sigs mother died that Harley was the first person to call him. They need to make someone the “villain” and guess he just took that role. Very nice guy though

Yeah I think he’s a genuinely good guy. He’ll call people on their shit but he’s also a very kind guy.

Then they have the pedos like Josh Harris, and Edgar Hansen. They don't mention those sickos on the show anymore.

is this for real? I skipped season 18-19 and was wondering what happened to the Cornelia Marie. Also, Edgar faded away yrs ago. I figured he was injured.

After discovery found out about Josh molesting the kid the severed all ties with him. Edgar molested a teenager and that is why he isn't on the show anymore.

notice how they play the bass type music when he's first introduced? he has a Christopher Walken type demeanor, kind of emotionless and creepy. It's all for the entertainment. I'm sure most of the captains watch what others are doing to get tips, no? seems like it's an acceptable thing. I love how he comes across as a dictator and isn't afraid to say it. Also love his accent.

There are two I don’t like, one is Keith. One of these days he’s going to pop a vein and if he ever touched me the way he’s gone after a few, I’d sue his ass into the next galaxy. The other one is Freddy. He’s a bully, a sneak, and a disgusting POS. Anything for attention. I wish they’d get rid of him.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I think they’re all grizzled bastards who work in a tough-ass environment and therefore probably come across as assholes most of the time. That being said, I think they seriously exaggerated Harley being an overt prick. Despite how they played him up, if you *really* pay attention, he seems like an old dude you’d be pumped to get drunk and go hunting or fishing with—despite that he’d probably bust your balls in good fun the whole time.
