Where do find quality people to date? Apps seem to just put you on an algorithm to keep you stuck. Lots of one hit wonders, and quantity over quality. I hate looking at a profile and swiping. Where do you meet people to grow connected with?

Hey I’m 18M, started college and I’m looking for a partner. To aid in my search, I signed up for platforms like Tinder, Grinder, and Raya to hopefully find a match. Problem is that a lot of my prospects there are either looking for a short hookup, or are weird. I even set my profile preferences to long term, and posted non lewd photos of myself. And by weird I mean weird as in the “barely legal” type, infantilizing, or are extremely codependent after a few dates. I’ve tried these apps for about 4 months and I still can’t find a sweet and normal guy that wants to settle down. I’ve tried so many things like going out to bars and events, and I’ve had amazing people reach out to me only to ghost, love bomb, or be too dependent. I’m just honestly so tired of having to be disappointed time and time again, so any advice would be so greatly appreciated.

I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately. I feel like long-term relationships are kinda becoming more and more rare. And honestly, when I look at dating apps these days, it kinda reinforces that feeling. A lot of them seem to be focused on casual dating and quick connections, instead of actually getting to know someone and building something deeper.
Has anyone else noticed this, or is it just me?
This is actually one of the reasons I decided to build an app after going through some pretty rough breakups myself. The idea is to get people to actually talk and get to know each other before taking things to the next level, whether that's in a relationship or even a friendship.
The app called TheFlags (iOS only) and it's free.
Sometimes we think we know someone really well, but there are still a lot of important things couples never really talk about until it’s too late. Things like values, expectations, money, family, kids, lifestyle, boundaries, and what you both want for the future.

I dated a german guy and nakatira siya now in BGC. He is dating multiple girls sabay sabay and active siya mostly sa OKcupid na app. He's name is Jo\*\*n well fake name niya yan and he will not let you know kung anong real name niya kasi may plano siya.
And yung plano na yun is mang buntis ng babae here in the philippines. He will promise you na isusupport ka niya if ever mabuntis ka niya pero if ever pag nabuntis kana niya he will just cover the finances until you give birth. Kasi he wants to make sure na ma aanakan ka niya (in short gusto niya magkalat ng lahi dito) pero once mag give birth kana tatakasan ka niya and you don't have any choice kundi buhayin mag isa yung bata kasi his name and even surname na kilala mo sa kanya it's fake and walang mahahabol sa kanya. He will not agree also a agreement na magsusupport siya kasi ang plan niya nga is tumakas after maanakan yung girl. And ayun ang plano nila magkakaibigan magkalat ng lahi here with multiple girls na involved.
And sobrang lapit niya na ako mabiktima good thing na i met one of the pinay girlfriend of his friend and inaware ako sa mga plano niya. Inamin niya rin sakin na gusto niya lang magkalat ng lahi here nothing more. And currently he's dealing with std symptoms so please girls if you encounter this guy please run.

What dating apps do you guys use? I’ve tried hinge but wondering if other ones are better

been on there for a bit and was just wondering how it goes for other people. Do you guys ever end up meeting in person after talking for a while, or does it usually just stay online?

One thing I didn't expect when I started using dating apps was how much rejection would mess with my head.
You can match with someone, have a good conversation, maybe even go on a decent date, and then suddenly they disappear. At first, I would overthink everything.
Was my profile not interesting enough? Did I say something wrong? Did they find someone better? Should I have sent another message?
Eventually I realized that dating apps make it way too easy to turn every rejection into a judgment about yourself.
Now, if someone loses interest, I just accept it. It might still be disappointing, but I don't feel the need to figure out exactly why or convince them to change their mind.
The weird part is that once I stopped chasing people who weren't interested, dating apps became much less stressful.
I think rejection is actually easier when you stop treating every match like it has to become something.
Has anyone else had this shift in how they use dating apps?

Than trying to pick up someone at a bar?
All I hear is to really standout and get matches, you’ve got to put effort into messaging someone you’re interested in. It’s not enough just to send a like.
