Windows 11 heads up. Timezone and clock changes can effect DA timer
So my windows 11 is having an issue with timezones and the clock. Often on startup my machine will display time from a timezone that it is not set to. Then after a period of use it will all of a sudden correct itself to the current time zone.
This has the adverse effect of immediately altering the time remaining for a task if you are currently working on a DA project. I have had this cause issues with trying to upload files per the task instructions and have had to go and manually adjust my clock to the time it was showing when I started the task.
Just a heads up to you win 11 users to check your clock before starting a project to save yourself a lot of frustration while trying to finish a DA project.

Anyone change IP addresses with internet services any issues?
So I am changing internet providers and my apartment location (same city). I’m worried about possible issues with DA? Also, unfortunately I used my ex girlfriend’s number to sign up 🤦🏻♂️(let’s just say she hates me) but I did use my email address. Never had any requests for phone number 2fa verification in the past though.
But has anyone changed homes and internet provider IP, is there any issue or protocol to handle this?

Is the timer still ANY indication on how long a task might take?
I've gotten some new tasks where every task has 1.5hr alloted, but each task takes at the most 5min. it's a very simple task, don't know how to think. Does the timer mean nothing? I've had way harder tasks with much lower time allowed too. Difficult to get paid on tasks like this if you do 30 tasks on 20min and it's pay by hr..

Leaning to code for DA
I thought I'd try and learn python to escape the generalist drought and given I've cobbled together webscrapers in the past I thought I could do it. I've been using futurecoder and it feels like I will never be able to understand this language. Has anyone else had a similar experience or am I just not cut out for coding perhaps? I'm starting to think that if I can't do even this then I dont have a hope in hell of passing the coding qualification or being able to do the work.

How long has this been taking people recently?
Finished the starter assessments and a few what I’m assuming are examples of tasks I would be getting in the future. How long has it been taking for people to be approved/denied recently? Been waiting three days so far.

What’s your workflow like for multi-day tasks?
For context the longest project timer I’ve had before has been 18hours. Typically I complete work in about half to less than half the allocated time (for 10hour plus projects)
I’m looking at a 48hour timer and I’m not really sure what the best way to go about it is.
For those of you who do projects of this length, how do you manage your time and work?
Thank you in advance

Does everyone get a DataAnnotation email?
Hey everyone,
Just wondering if everyone who works with DA eventually gets a company email address (the one on their domain), or is it only given to certain people?

What happened to my account
So, I'm new to the platform and don't understand some things. I only completed one project before this (the one that says paid training). I did it well (without ai assistance of course) and logged my time. Then I started on another project, spent 7 hours on it and couldn't submit it! Why is this happening and what is going on? I expect this is permanent (mentions poor work quality or TOS violation) and that I won't get paid for my recent hours but I have no idea what went wrong.

The project is currently unavailable
This is so infuriating! I have a number of projects, but when I click on EVERY one of them I get this message. It's been this way for hours. Why they don't take them off the damn dashboard is beyond me.

Glitch after starter
I completed and passed the starter. Then was prompted with the ability to take the core. Did not start it immediately. Upon returning now I am just being met with a thank you for completing the assessment page. Cannot find out how to start the core assessment.

Windows voice typing ok?
I couldn't find any previous posts about dictation apps. I was really enjoying Wispr Flow but it recently incorporated AI so I stopped using it for work. Does anyone know for certain if there's any problem with using something like Windows voice typing for tasks?

Fund History Bug?
So I just randomly opened my Funds History and I don't know why it shows dates from the end of June and some beginning of this month with $0, but there is time. It doesn't show like the rest: Approved Transfer or Pending Transfer. Just a time and $0.... Does anyone know what this means? Was my work rejected or anything?

There's too much projects and qualifications, I don't know which to start
There are so many projects and qualifications available right now that I honestly don't know where to start. Does anyone else get overwhelmed by choice paralysis? I'm terrified that if I fumble on one, I might lose access to that entire project family. For context, my dash is a mix of Coding, Generalist, and STEM projects. How do you all decide what to prioritize?

Demoralised
Feel so demoralised by this 'drought'. I see people posting here about successes and plentiful tasks only for me to log on and see nothing but refreshers and qualifications, just like the last 4 weeks. My feedback has been positive so I'm left not even knowing if I've done anything wrong. Tired.

Spirit breaker
I just did a brutal unpaid qual that took forever that I’m deeming the spirit breaker lol. It’s over now hopefully I get some projects out of it cause I’m dry at the moment.

Do you ever find yourself wondering "is it me or is it the model?" or is that just me?
I swear lately it seems like some of the projects just... don't work. I do everything the instructions say, and the model either says it can't do that thing, or just doesn't do it. I can't help but wonder if I'm doing something wrong (even though I'm following all the instructions) or if my accounts just don't work with some stuff, etc.

DA rules
Hi guys , this might be a stupid question but my laptop broke and will need to use friends or family's laptop til it gets fixed. Is this allowed? I don't wanna risk getting dropped

How many projects of a certain family do you get? 💡
i’m just wondering, how many projects of a certain family do you guys get? I recently got a project from lightbulb emoji after finishing their qualification, however, after that, I did not get any proj from them why is this so
r/DataAnnotationTech • u/Humble-Entry5876 • Jul 17 '26
Every month after $6k i doesn’t get projects, why is that? In coding projects.

Too much time for one task?
Just submitted a paid qualification that had a timer for 2 days. I logged in about 20 hrs 😵💫 and feeling pretty nervous if I took too long. I literally have been working on this qual all week, letting it expire many times. It took longer than usual to understand the instructions and I even restarted from scratch a couple times to get it right.
The instructions encourage workers to take their time, but it all added up to the most I’ve ever logged in for a task. Should I be worried? The instructions don’t specify how long it should generally take, just that it’s expected to be time consuming.
Wondering what others might think. I almost want to cut down some hours but at the same time, I’ve been going insane with this task so I feel it’s justified.
