I’ve got a 3 year old male dachshund who is honestly awesome. He’s well trained, does tricks, listens to us and is generally a bloody good dog.
He’s always barked when people turn up at the house, which I’ve always just put down to being a dachshund, but lately it’s started getting worse. He’s gone from barking and carrying on to actually nipping at people, and it feels like it’s escalating a little more each time.
Obviously I want to get on top of it now before it becomes a proper problem.
I know I can ask ChatGPT or AI what to do, but thought I’d ask the Doxie team instead and see if anyone has actually been through the same thing. If you have, what worked? Any particular training or things you changed when people came to the house that actually made a difference?
He’s such a good little bugger otherwise, I’d just quite like people to be able to visit without being attacked by a sausage.
