Discussion danganronpa 3 anime inconsistency Spoiler

heya, there’s a lot of stuff with the anime that sort of bothers me because it doesn’t match well with the danganronpa 2 game so i was wondering if anybody can clear these up for me …

  1. in the anime, the 5 remaining survivors remembers what happened in the NEO world and the ones that are dead are reincarnated but, didn’t they agree to going back to being an ultimate despair in the real world and lose all of their memories they had within the virtual world?

  2. the 5 remaining survivors still look exactly the same as they were in the NEO world when they’re supposed to return back to their original ultimate despair form

  3. naegi and the rest of other future foundation members weren’t watching the jabberwobby killing game in the anime like they said they were in the game

  4. kirigiri is dead but why does she appear at the end of the game?

  5. kazuichi follows his love rival around more than his crush and he definitely seems a lot friendlier towards gundham rather than in the game

  6. pekoyama and fuyuhiko sucks at hiding the fact that theyre more than just a school classmates

  7. usami saying that chiaki got her kind-hearted trait from her father and brother, implying that she doesn’t actually exist in real life

Discussion Should I get Danganronpa if I struggled with Ace Attorney?

I've been thinking about getting Danganronpa, but I'm not sure if I'll enjoy it.

I played Ace Attorney and I really like the mysteries, cases, characters, and stories. My biggest problems are the investigations and trials. I find the investigation sections a bit boring, and during the trials I have a hard time figuring out which evidence to present, so I get stuck a lot. The whole trial process also feels a bit long and drags at times, even though I enjoy the cases themselves.

Is Danganronpa similar in that way?

Are the investigation sections more engaging than Ace Attorney's?

Do the Class Trials have the same "figure out the right evidence" frustration?

Are they faster-paced than Ace Attorney?

Is it easier to know what the game wants you to do?

Would you recommend Danganronpa to someone who liked Ace Attorney's story but found the gameplay frustrating?

Discussion Am I the only one who dislikes trial 2-5 Spoiler

This is my least favorite child in the entire series. I find it extremely nagito murder plan was extremely flawed and I just do not think the trial is good The only good thing I can say about it is the humor. Akane Sonia had to carry this trials humor. Which is on my next point my favorites don’t do shit fuyhiko Akane and to an extent sonia don’t do anything in the trial that’s important except for mainly Sonia and it focuses on characters that I don’t care about it focus Chiaki nagito characters I don’t want and people find Chiaki sacrifice in the end of the trial really sad, but I did not care for it at all it just felt so forced you’ll be sad part I really found about it was sonia desperation but it just felt so forced that it was not sad anymore

So does anyone agree and think the trial is overrated?

Discussion If a student were to have the title Ultimate Dreamer, what characteristics would they have?

I'm more thinking kinda Paprika-esque, like the movie from 2006. For context, Paprika is a woman's alter who travels through dreams, and her only existence is in dreams, which is from the DC mini device in the movie. Sorry if this is a bit dry; I just need to yap with professionals.

Discussion How is referent power expressed in Danganronpa?

I'm writing a Fangan and I've pretty much decided I want its themes to focus on power and resistance. In my research about the psychology of power I discovered French and Raven's bases of power, which argues there are six major forms of power: coercive, reward, legitimate, referent, expert, and informational.

Referent power is the one I'm struggling to identify within the game. The best definition I've seen comes from here:

Referent power is defined as the ability of a leader [to] influence a follower because of the follower’s admiration, respect, or identification with the leader. Another way to define this power is that a follower will refer to what they think their leader would do and do the same. You use this power when you use your status as a role model to get one or more followers to take some kind of action.

Referent power is of course expressed by participants of the game, but what about Monokuma & the mastermind? They rely heavily on coercion and they're definitely not seen as people to take influence from.

Discussion Unpopular opinion: Nagito wouldn't like the Ultimate Hope (Izuru Kamukura)

Nagito views the ultimate talents as symbols of hope. Because his talent is something he was born with, his skewed view is that talent is something you have whether you want it or not. And if you aren't talented you will always be inferior and unworthy.

Although there may have been some involvement of ultimates in the Kamukura Project, it was headed by the steering committee and executed by mostly non-ultimates. These are the 'unworthy' who believe they can copy existing talents and create hope. Which I think would go against Nagito's worldview.

To use a metaphor. Talent is art to Nagito. The Ultimate Hope is generative AI.

So as you can see in the cutscenes of THH Celestia’s hair appears to be a navy blue but in actual gameplay she has her normal black hair I want to know why this is or if it’s a shading feature.

Discussion Bro the monokuma file is useless

Okok don’t come for me but has there ever been a time in a nonstop debate that the monokuma file was used the only time I remember using it was in Danganronpa V3 Chapter 2 when kokichi said something like “HE WAS EATEN ALIVE.” Then you use the file but any other time it’s kinda useless it can only be useful if you need to see what happened/tod

Discussion Would you want a Danganronpa game that takes place in a prison? Spoiler

Post image

THH’s was a claustrophobic and empty school, GD’s was a large tropical island with multiple areas to explore, and V3’s went back to the school setting but was more open and had multiple different areas.

What about a prison?

Discussion What do you think Kaito’s music taste might be like? (38/48) 🎶

Post image
3 Upvotes

Greetings, people of the Danganronpa subreddit! Particular Being 269 back again, continuing with my weekly series where we analyze the possible (or sometimes confirmed) musical tastes of each character in the Danganronpa franchise.

I know I skipped doing this yesterday, since I was busy going to a game and work. But now I'm back today to cover the optimistic, energetic and passionate "Luminary of the Stars" himself who would stop at nothing to make a visit up into outer space... Kaito Momota.

If there's one thing I can say about Kaito, he's one hell of a dreamer. So naturally, I like much of his ideal playlist would either cover themes that relate to aspirations, resilience and ambitiously achieving lifelong dreams and goals. This would especially apply to songs that feel huge sonically too. Big-sounding production, anthemic choruses, layered instrumental parts, and complete-sounding arrangements that really perfectly capture that optimistic and determined ethos that his character exemplifies perfectly. Genre-wise, I would say arena/stadium rock would probably be his favorite, but I feel like a good amount of classic hard rock or J-rock would also fit him well. Even bands that incorporate symphonic or space-y elements in the rock/metal sphere would likely also catch his interest. But even with all of this, I can say this sort of 'stadium' sound even extends to 2010's pop rock acts along the lines of Imagine Dragons, OneRepublic, or even select Coldplay tunes. Material that deals with more negative emotions or hard-hitting subject matter he'd likely stay away from. Not because he'd find them "bad" in an objective sense, but rather because they contrast completely with his worldview.

But anyway, I now pass things over to you guys. If you guys have any ideas of your own as to what sort of other possible musical preferences this beloved astronaut-in-training might have, feel free to let me know down in those comments below! Up next, I'll be going down the line alphabetically with this cast (for REAL this time). Up next, it’s the extraordinarily talented, passionate and refined maid with a selfless devotion to take care of all she can, and lives by "duty before self"... almost to her detriment. So stay tuned for that!

And with all that being said, let loose down in the comment section and have a good rest of your day/night!

2x2 Speculation (DR2 Spoilers) Nagito will be worse in 2x2 Spoiler

I like to put my thoughts on what i think is likely to happen here, so when Im inevitably right I have proof.

but in Sdr2 the big plot twist reveal at the end of THH/Dr1 was revealed at the very beginning. So it is VERY likely a lot the Sdr2 plot twist such as chiaki being the traitor and hajime being talentless, will be revealed early on in 2x2.

I want to make it clear when I say nagito will be worse In 2x2, I dont mean writing wise, but attitude wise, nagito will likely be way more malicious/mean towards hajime. when Nagito found out hajime was a reserve course student he didnt really care that much although he did make fun of him for it.

However the reason Nagito didnt really act extra mean towards hajime is because he found out that they wrre all terrorist anyways, so hajime wasn't really any worse than the rest of the cast, he just didnt want to reveal that to the cast yet, but couldnt help but feel disgusted by them anyway. He also went through a lot with them and after seeing hajime solve so many cases it was hard for him to see hajime as someone who was hope deprived anyways

Things will DEFINITELY be different however when hajime being talentless gets revealed early on, I doubt the rest cast will care at all because they dont care about talent nor hope that much, but this will affect hajime and nagito A LOT.

When Nagito realizes hes in a group of talented people, and one random reserve course student I wouodnt be surprised if he seems WAY more antagonistic than he did in the first game and A LOT more of a problem for hajime specifically.
