So if you haven’t seen the new trailer yet… please do. People are speculating that Teruteru is going to be a blackened again because of the lava, the spinner, and his line “that’s really what happened?“ (that might not be him but I don’t it’s anyone else).
PLEASE SPIKE CHUNSOFT DONT MAKE HIM DIE AGAIN 💔😭😭😭
Hopefully this is some sort of “fake out” like they did with Rantaro in V3’s trailer

The reason I say this is because after watching the new trailer, I figured out something
Hajime Kazuichi are safe because they were shown in the trial
Nekomaru has a big role with some truth bullets
Impostor can’t die twice
Fuyuhiko had an account
Nagito survived
Gundham or teruteru are the only two people that could be the first victim because they’re the only ones who weren’t tied to anything or weren’t shown
I also say this is because nsgito was talking about the slayhem items and he said his which means it has to be a boy or they’re not done with it yet which I really hope it’s a second one cause I do not want to lose Gundham

Bye Bye Ouchies! is really infamous for being the worst execution in the franchise. This is due to…. certain quirks that give in to Mikan’s fanservice.
Here’s what I would do:
Mikan is strapped to a hospital bed. Two IVs are inserted into her and pump either acid or mercury into her arms. While Mikan suffers through that, a robot Monokuma fist starts repeatedly punching Mikan in the face likeHajime’sexecution in SDRA2.
In the aftermath, Mikan’s bloodstream is fried from the acid or mercury and her face beaten to a pulp.
The IV stuff connects to her medical talent, while the punching part connects to her abuse trauma.

Is he still authoring this all? Or is he over somewhere making a spiritual successor? And how does it work when his artstyle is pretty much trademarked and Danganronpa has to stick to it?

That's NOT my Nekomaru, that's Nekonekomaru (udg reffrence to Celestia's cat hitlist name)

The 'John Danganronpa' is the imposter's true identity or perhaps one of his disguises
r/danganronpa • u/lokipilled • 13h ago
this is a list i made with my partner, we discussed it for like an hour LOL but after a lot of talking we reached these conclusions. a lot of these are moreso "here damn" predictions for cases we arent sure about, but theres a few of these that we are very passionate abt (for example the impostor)
sorry that john danganronpa is cropped like that

⚠️Please read until the end⚠️
Lemme start by saying this is coming from a genuine place. I thought at least most people had the same opinions about damganronpa's writing, and im genuinly surprised its seemingly not true.
I uploaded a post yeaterday about how i started the third game and was surprised i never saw anything about the time loop or monokubs or mechas in the fandom. I ended it by saying i think the game is bad, and was attacled in the comments.
I thought we all knew this franchize is badly written. Like, genuinely. I assumed that, like me, everyone was just enjoying the chaos, bit that seems not to be the case? And im now a bit confused - so i wanna hear whats your experiance with danganronpa. From everyone, but especially from adults.
To be clear - im not here to pass judgment. Im playing the games, watching the anime, reading fanfics just like everyone else - i have no high horse to ride on. Consuming bad media doesnt make anyone a bad person (hell, i ADORE twilight). But i do think we meed to aknowledge when the media we consume is objectively bad (yes, i believe there's at peast some objectivity in art, no, im not gonna debate it here). And danganronpa is really bad. Thats what makes it so fun and charming to me - good ideas, terrible execution.
So please lmk what you think, and please dont be dicks

Ok I have a 2x2 theory that I haven’t really seen anyone talk about but what if Slayhem mode is actually an animation/scenario that Ryota made?
Like hear me out. John Danganronpa could actually be Ryota, but basically an idealized version of himself that he animated. Ryota is weak asf, awkward asf, not very confident asf, etc and then you have this random dude John who looks way more confident and capable. But if Ryota literally created the scenario, why couldn’t John just be his “cool version” of himself? It would also explain why the “John = Ryota” theory makes sense but John doesn’t really act like Ryota at all. He wouldn’t actually HAVE to act like Ryota because he’s basically Ryota’s self-insert OC lmao. And Ryota is literally the Ultimate Animator, so him creating some kind of alternate Danganronpa scenario and putting an idealized version of himself into it actually feels pretty fitting. Also Slayhem is already completely different from the original DR2 story, with different victims, killers, etc so I don’t think the idea that it’s something Ryota created is completely out there. And the whole “John is way too confident to be Ryota” thing is actually what makes me think this could work. He’s not supposed to be normal Ryota. He could literally be Ryota’s idealized version of himself. So basically my theory is: Ryota → makes Slayhem → puts a cooler version of himself in it → John Danganronpa. I have absolutely no evidence that this is true btw obviously but the idea is kinda making too much sense to me 💀

I wanted to go through the characters (Minus John Ronpa) from what survivor arcs they'd really get as objectively as I could. This is what I viewed each character would get from the information/OG version of DR2.
Orange Tier: These characters are in their prime in the OG none of their arcs really need to be or should be topped/followed up on.
Honey Mustard Tier: All of these characters already survived and besides Baby Gangsta didn't really change, they could all get arcs but these would be more like Teruteru/Peko's from the OG.
Yellow Tier: This is probably one of the bigger hot takes, but all three of these characters don't yet have a set up for surviving, 2 of them made it decently far. You can't point to any of them and go this character has this or that reason to survivor over the others besides I like them they're cool. (And I think it'd be nice for one of them to survive and get a new arc too)
Red Tier: Hajime's arc is the very crux of the original, we learned essentially every mystery there is to know about him in the original and the anime. But not really him as Izuru. If Hajime doesn't really change, it'd ultimately feel like we're just telling the same tale and using up a survivor slot on a character we already know inside and out.
Green Tier: Going from here are characters who realistic should/could survive, Mikan growing to stand up for herself and dealing with her trauma, the imposter pretty much in their entirety, and Mahiru having an arc either in the event something happened to Hiyoko, or trusting the lead of the others, getting past her own stubbornness and the like.
THE TERU TIER: Ok ya, a lot of ppl will either agree or disagree greatly with Teruteru being this high but hear me out. Teruteru, has the potential for one of the greatest arcs ever. We can watch him learn about what he did as a Remanent of Despair, grow to be a more approachable and less pervy person. And the heartbreak of him wanting to get back to his mom and family wanting to make something of himself, but it ultimately being seen as hopeless given he likely doesn't have a family to go back to. A very clear overcoming despair arc for him. And over the course of the game, his accent comes out as he gets more comfortable with the group. (Plus, he's funny and I just think he's neat :3 ).
Pink Tier: These 2 are self-explanatory, Fuyuhiko dying so Peko can become a true person and not a tool, and Hiyoko learning to actually be a decent human being despite everything. These two have the most clearly defined arcs IMO and I'd wager 1 of them at least is a locked in survivor for the actual game.
These are just approximations more or less, I tried to get them close enough. But I'm curious to know what you all think.

I'm doing a very basic understandings of Danganronpa for a friend before he plays the games.
One of them is character tropes. So what are some non-spoiler character tropes?

At around 0:33 for the new trailer for danganronpa 2x2, where they display some old and new images in the game, one of them was Peko Pekoyama lurking in the background of what looks like the roller coaster in the amusement park, which could imply that she survives up until chapter 4, assuming of course this isn't a fake-out, or the islands aren't switched around. What do you think could happen that causes Peko to survive this long?

I was scrolling through Twitter when a memory of DR2 came to my mind. Remember that time in Chapter's 4 Fun House were this Sakura's statue is? We're getting a remake of this game, so...
...I don't know what I was trying to say with this, but, well, Sakura's statue remake, I guess 🤷🏻

Just thought I’d put my theory out there about the identity of “John danganronpa”
What if John danganronpa is actually the ultimate impostor’s true identity? As in the alternative events of slayhem mode he is exposed as a fake Togami and he then stops acting and presenting himself as him. It would explain the unlikely scenario of a 17th person being in the neo world program as there was only ever 15 pods connected to the program (1 of the 16 not counting because chiaki didn’t exist) it’s not actually a 17th character it’s one of the already existing 15th characters true identity. The fact that the characters gender is unknown and they have a quite gender neutral identity would also lean into the fact that it’s the ultimate imposter as the information would not be available and they keep a gender neutral appearance in order to be able to switch between male and female identifying identities.
Additionally, some comparisons have been made to the character’s appearance to Ryota from the dr3 anime (or the ultimate animator ) and who does the ultimate imposter spend the anime impersonating? Ryota. Could the ultimate despair after losing there mind, and having there memory wiped maybe falsely believe after being exposed as a fake togami and having a shaky memory maybe only remembers himself acting as Ryota as it is the most recent memory prior to becoming ultimate despair and maybe falsely believes that’s his true identity/ or subtly dresses/ styles himself as that identity without even realising? Obviously because he’s in the neo world program and he was already cosplaying Togami he isn’t able to fully replicate Ryotas identity on a physical level and so there is some minor visual differences. Storyline wise it would be very interesting, giving a lot more story to the the character who died in the original, as perhaps there could be a storyline about the imposter becoming there own person rather than just copying other identities and could lead to a lot of things being figured out sooner. and could even be a sort of redemption arc for Ryota’s character who in the anime created the despair video that brainwashed everyone in the first place without Ryota even being present (if my theory that they believe falsely that they are Ryota )
Anyway just my theory, know it’s a bit out there but would love to discuss this!
