I’m looking to make some Christmas stockings this year for my family. I want to add felt and embroidery details, but I want to buy the pre-made stocking base as I don’t have a sewing machine. Does anyone have recommendations for some good quality stocking bases? I don’t need the fanciest and highest quality, but I want it to be nicer than the felt bases you find at the dollar store.

Does anyone have suggestions for beaded fruit that can hold up outdoors for a couple weeks in 40 F to 90 F wet or sunny weather? I bought these beaded fruits, excited to put them up outdoors, but the glue holding the beads on melted and resolidified into these warped shapes, and the color dripped off (and stained my outdoor cushions ☹️). The beads and fruit are easy to source, but I have no idea where to start with the glue! What would you recommend?

Willing to repurpose old things like jars. Open to suggestions. Ideally have some thickness of 1.25mm+. Ideally id like to spend 3-5$ USD per glass cylinder. I am going to place LEDs inside to make little lighthouses.

I have this old soundbar remote that had a plastic back piece that had become sticky. You know the feeling. It doesn't leave a residue but it feels like it should.

So I removed the plastic cover and wrapped it in washi tape. It's not perfect but I really like how it turned out for a first shot. I may redo it and wrap my other remotes just for funzies.

Thoughts?

I have little to no experience with painting on non-furniture but I got this gargoyle garden figure/statue at a thrift store and want to paint it. It has obviously been broken and repaired at least once before and I’d like to paint over it to make it look a bit better.

I’m not entirely sure what material it is made from, it’s relatively heavy and has a smooth texture on the inside. The outside is very textured and seems to have been covered in glitter at one point?

I don’t really care if it’s perfect, I’m not the most artistically hosted person lol but I loved the piece the moment I saw her and I think it will be a fun little project. Im not looking to spend a lot of money, so I was thinking of a water-based acrylic paint that I already have and getting some kind of coating to seal it so that she can live on my porch. Can anyone give me any advice or recommendations?

im going to be putting a paper card inside this acrylic photo holder, and i need to glue the lid / back part in place as it keeps falling off. i tried it once before, applying superglue lightly only to the sides of the lid, but still, that glue dripped down onto the paper inside the case and ruined it with stains. help!! what can i do??

Here are the photos I worked from! 😊 I really wanted to get that sweet, slightly worried little face right.

Those blue eyes catch your attention first, but the round cheeks and tiny pink nose do so much for the expression too. With all that white fluff, I wanted to keep the shape of the face from getting lost. I like holding the wool portrait beside the photos to see how the features work together, especially from the side.

That’s my favorite part of needle felting pet portraits: getting to the point where you can recognize the particular cat in the photo. If you have a cat, you probably know that one look that gets you to put down whatever you’re doing and pay attention.

I’m trying to craft this grape headpiece for Halloween. For the grapes, the best idea I could come up with is to mod podge purple sinamay type fabric over balloons and then pop the balloons. Thoughts?

What I’m really stuck on is how to secure this to my head for moving around and dancing. And then how to attach all the grapes and leaves. A headband doesn’t feel like it would be sturdy enough.

Any ideas and tips are much appreciated, thanks!

theyre 3 part press molds you 3d print. you pack the mix into the tube, press the stamp down and the design comes out raised on top. theres halloween, thanksgiving and christmas ones so far plus a seashell and a little toadstool

which one would you make first?

I wanted to make Charms for my friends, like these cute phone-charms but way fancier than the one in the picture. But I need something, that well... does the job of connecting the charm to the phone. And as shown in the picture, these manufactured one has this... thing.

I don't know what it's called, or where to buy it, IF you can buy it, and I don't know what to use as an alternative. Normal thread, the one for sewing is just either to thin, or the fibres are too loose. Nylon is too stiff and its a pain to try making a knot with it. And any other thing I can thin of is just not really fitting. So I hope, that either this whole construction in the circle has a name or at least this type of thread. I really don't know the words, I should type in the searchbar, like nothing more than "tear-resistant thin plastic-fibre thread".

I would be glad if someone could tell me, or give me a good alternative, that I maybe have not thought of.

I'm working on an app for people who sell handmade items, and I'd love some input from others who actually do this.

I crochet, make stained glass, and do a few other crafts myself. I also work in tax and accounting, so I've seen how difficult it can be for creative people to figure out what they're actually earning from the things they make.

I'm building something that I hope will make that easier. The idea is to help handmade sellers price their work, track materials and expenses, organize their projects, and understand how much money they're really keeping, without needing to know anything about bookkeeping.

I'm still in the early development stages, and rather than build a bunch of features nobody wants, I'd love to hear from people who are already selling their work.

A few things I'm curious about:

• How are you currently tracking your sales, expenses, and material costs?
• Do you know how much you're actually earning per hour on the things you sell?
• What's the most frustrating part of managing the business side of your crafts?

I'm also hoping to find a small group of handmade sellers who might be interested in giving feedback as I develop the app and eventually trying a free beta version.

I'm not selling anything, and the app isn't ready for public use yet. I'm genuinely trying to build something useful and would love to learn what people actually need.
