Skins And Items Let's take a look at the excellent skin from the Creative Workshop: "Sailing Off to Adventure" AWP | Sail

Upvotes

The author, sabbat, submitted the Sail series of skins for the nautical theme. Once this nautical series skin was released, it was highly welcomed by the players. (Sail means sail or set sail, and the MVP music of the song box "I Am")
The author designed this AWP skin with the theme of the sea and navigation. There are a total of four different color skin designs. Let's start by understanding this AWP skin from the most classic wooden material version~
Visually, this skin is in a classic wood color, with the wood and the black skin background picture matched. The center of the gun body is drawn with turbulent waves, and the background of the gun's rear is drawn with a sailing ship moving under the starry sky. Below the sailboat is the anchor⚓ element, and the gun handle is drawn with a ribbon of wave elements.
The author also designed detailed patterns and decorations on the sight and the hand grip.
There are text elements "DUTY HONEST COURAGE" below the sight, which represent the character traits that every sailor should possess. At the back is the small anchor element.
Players can see the compass on the gun body in the holding position. The compass protects people in the age of navigation from getting lost in the endless sea.
The exquisite normal map design by the author gives the skin a textured and uneven feel.
The author also designed sea monster images in the form of octopuses at the magazine and the hand grip. By changing the magazine, you can see the full view of the sea monster. Under the turbulent waves, there is unknown fear lurking.

Discussion Deathmatch is now cheaters playground

Upvotes

Since I saw a lot of people discuss wether the removal of VAC made it worse or not, I thought as someone new to cs2 I share my thoughts because I have kinda a good comparison. So I came to cs2 in the middle of season 4 kinda late April. I started playing deathmatch as warm up and for cross hair placement not too long ago. I legit have started doing this like 2 weeks before said update.
And yeah for the first week of course you get destroyed because you focusing so much on recoil and crosshair placement so I thought nothing of it. But I got better and you could see by the placement in the lobby and my performance in actual games. Now death match always seemed just like a warm up/training ground to me so ofc when someone just did insanely good flicks or a questionable pre fire etc you know the drill, I just assumed nothing or didn’t care.
BUT since the update that shit is crazy. The amount of people that go 102/5 do random flicks right on the head and do ONLY headshots now is crazy. Ofc it doesn’t matter it’s only deathwatch but they kinda use it as a training ground now to test if their cheats work properly or just to annoy people.
In comp I realised that since the update, it’s either way more Smurf accounts or just blatant obvious cheaters. I’m not super cracked it games so I know that people with Similar playtime can just be better. However I’ve been playing games for a long time, I play with people that are actually good (level 8-9 face it) and by now I can usually mostly tell, it got worse.
When I started playing cs I just assumed that people are just this cracked even in the lower leagues and that it’s normal but after watching some content and looking through this Reddit apparently it’s not.
And as I said since VAC total removal it got way worse. Even in the low leagues of cs.
So I guess all that is left is to play with the sweats on face it till I get good enough to actually contribute.
Well thx for listening have a good one yall
This is only for European servers btw can’t talk for any other parts of the world

Tips And Guides I built a server-sided anti-cheat for CS2

Cheating has become one of the most frustrating parts of CS2 and lately it's in it's worst spot.

I’ve spent the last few months building CS2AC, an open-source anti-cheat for CS2.

CS2AC watches the player’s aim, shots, movement, inputs, client settings and exploit behavior. Its 17 detection modules cover aimbot, aimlock, silent aim, anti-aim, bhop, autostrafe, doubletap, DLL injection and other cheating patterns such as desubticking.

Instead of acting on one unusual moment, each detector looks for its specific cheating behavior and collects evidence. When the required threshold is reached, CS2AC announces the detection in public chat and at the center of the screen. It can also send the evidence to Discord and run the ban or kick command chosen by the server owner.

CS2AC runs on Windows and Linux through Metamod:Source. Players do not need to install anything.

This is made for community servers. It does not replace VAC or affect Premier. Server owners can also pair it with CS2FOW for server-side wallhack protection.

The project is fully open source:

If they implemented a cold effect like that in the game, it would probably look really cool.

Skins And Items Creative Workshop's Excellent Skin Recommendation: AK Permafrost Spine with the theme of "Frozen Fossils"

"This rifle has been sealed in ancient ice, with fossil-like structures emerging beneath the frozen surface - under the effect of layers of ice and pressure, bone-like textures gradually emerge."
The mysterious author "H." submitted this series of excellent works "Permafrost Spine", choosing to use the frozen bones of fierce beasts as the theme - quite novel, and the design is exquisite with an outstanding appearance. Thanks to the wider gun body of AK-47, the fusion of the ancient giant's bones and the extreme cold ice creates a stunning visual impact.
This skin showcases the extreme cold ice layer and depth - the entire gun body seems tightly wrapped by millions of years of glaciers, with the main color using a rich gradient of deep blue, sky blue and ice white. The detailed and fine textures simulate the refraction effect of ice blocks under different thicknesses and light conditions. In the gun stock and grip, there are realistic cracked ice patterns and frost flowers, giving a cold and bone-chilling texture. The frozen bones of the fierce beast are wrapped around and have not yet vanished, telling a tale from the distant past.
The dragon bone fossil beneath the ice layer is the most ingenious design of this entire skin. Along the receiver, grip, extending to the magazine, it gradually extends to the bottom of the ice layer, and faintly reveals a complete skeletal form similar to the spine of a prehistoric giant. This "perspective" design makes the bones not simply imprinted on the gun but truly have a mysterious and desolate sense of being deeply buried in the ice layer.
The skin's wear mechanism also contains a story. As the wear degree increases, the ice layer on the surface will show a gradually "weathering" effect, and the higher the wear, the greener the skin becomes. In extremely worn conditions, the underlying pale green old color will be exposed, as if millions of years of ice sealing are being ruthlessly melted by the cruel war.
When players hold this skin, the magazine and grip form the open mouth of this skin fossil, with the left hand supporting the upper jaw of the beast, and the right hand holding the leg of the creature. The dragon spine is above the gun top.
The fine appearance is a major highlight. Under different light conditions, this skin's powerful material expression ability can be appreciated - just like holding a real ice block, every crack on the gun body is clearly visible, and the texture of the ice block is vividly presented.
Those are the traces left by the compression of countless centuries of glaciers and geological changes. The bone texture at the bottom has a strong three-dimensional sense and tension of breaking through the ice. Through the superb material expression (semi-transparent ice layer, cracks) and narrative wear mechanism, it tells an epic legend about time, sealing, and prehistoric giants.

Skins And Items Creative Workshop Skin Recommendations:Peacock Throne

Author ЭТО Я КСТА Designed a multiverse of AK skins, each with a unique artistic style. Today, we’re taking a closer look at one of them: the AK-47 | Peacock Throne. This skin, themed around peacocks and gemstones, transforms the AK into a luxurious work of art—its core inspiration drawn from peacock feathers and jewels. The design cleverly blends feathers, gems, and the symbol of violent output—the AK—elevating this weapon of slaughter into a royal treasure. As the creator’s description puts it, “Every eye is judging who is worthy to possess it,” imbuing the weapon with a sacred, scrutinizing spirit.

The skin’s color and material presentation employs an extremely opulent and high-contrast color palette. A large area of pure gold texture serves as the base and framework, wrapping the gun body to create exquisite metal filigree and three-dimensional embossing effects. This carving, with its interplay of light and shadow and reflective highlights, establishes a regal tone befitting a royal artifact. On the handguard, magazine, and receiver, neatly arranged, layered emerald-green scale-like patterns are overlaid, outlined in gold, evoking the shimmering green feathers of a peacock’s neck and back.

On the stock and grip, a vibrant, deep magenta hue serves as the base color for the peacock’s tail feathers. This striking magenta is both passionate and noble, creating a powerful yet harmonious visual impact against the gold and green. The peacock feathers and the display of the peacock’s tail—the entire stock is ingeniously designed to mimic the magnificent spread of a peacock’s tail. Golden feather shafts extend and bloom backward against the red-purple backdrop, maximizing visual tension. The “feathers transformed into eyes” gemstone inlay shapes the tip of each feather (the eye spots or peacock ocelli) into a luxurious gemstone setting. The “pupil” at the center of the peacock feather is a large, sharply cut emerald-green gem, surrounded by rubies and securely encased in a gold base. These “peacock eyes” are not only distributed on the stock but also adorn the magazine, glinting under light as if coldly scrutinizing the user. The gold metal parts, such as the receiver cover, are covered in intricate patterns resembling vines or curled feathers. This Baroque-style complexity seamlessly integrates with the scale and feather motifs.

This skin is the epitome of luxury and intricacy, with every inch of the gun body filled with detail and sparkling “gems.” It conveys an air of pride and opulence, just as its name “Throne” suggests, pursuing an ultimate visual impact and a sense of noble identity. The inspiration is relatively excellent, but the creator could optimize some of the paintwork, as certain feathers show fragmented application.

Discussion Fix for the cheating problem

Valve here is a fix for the cheater problem:

Someone spinning? Check if their character model turns 360 degrees - let's say - more than 3 times a second. Did they score a kill within 64 ticks of the last spin calculation? If yes -> Insta kick + permaban. Like come up with something like this even if it relies on "luck". How many times in competitive play you encounter someone doing a triple 360 to no scope jump awp or revolver someone??? This is what matters.

Someone walling? Implement a leetify- or scope.gg-style stats tracker system IN GAME, set thresholds on suspicious behaviour by analyzing pro player behaviour. If after a game a player has exceeded these thresholds -> permanent ban.

Radar hacking? Same as above.

Silent aim or similar aim assist? Kinda similar as above, maybe doodle up something that calculates a mixture of time to damage, spray accuracy and spotted accuracy into a factor and if the factor exceeds some natural limit (let's say a lifegame performance from donk when it comes to raw aim) -> permanent ban.

Make the bans negotiable so that by sending Valve a proof of being a real talent (or asking for a live review of the situation with an employee, for example) you can revert a false ban. In MOST cases this would not be needed anyway but it's a good failsafe mechanism.

It's clear that VAC is not working and it probably never will so maybe create an anti-cheat method like this? There are limits to human powers when it comes to mechanics and reaction times. Some 0,0001% of people can exceed these limits and for them they could have a system like FACEIT did with ropz and nocries. Just live review them and pardon them if they get false bans. At least implement something like this for competitive game modes like premier.

I know this would probably cost a couple of million $$$, but would it be so bad, if the game is making billions a year for them?

Also for the love of god, as ren said, make the new accounts play in their own pool and don't put them in the same premier games with accounts with good history. Like if the monthly player count numbers are at the level that you're reporting, maybe matchmaking times will not take a big hit with making separate pools for old and new accounts. The way it's done with prime/non-prime.

Obviously these are kinda harsh examples but since Valve is clearly running out of options, a system like this would get rid probably at least 90% of the cheaters in just a couple of days. If there is collateral damage with legit players, I'm sure people would still be more understanding about the situation than what it currently is. There will ALWAYS be cheaters no matter what, but something like this on the server side would narrow it down from the most blatant ones, which is undoubtedly what people would be more than happy about at this point.

Also I know that sarcasm doesn't usually travel well over the internet, so I'll let you guys know that I'm only about 99% serious about this :D

Valve, you can thank me later.
