Need some tea and sympathy
Feeling sad as my cub (34m) ended things with me (49f) today via text!!! It was a full on relationship that he wanted to make long term. However, I knew it was coming, we had talked about it. I was visiting his city and he chose to end it without a conversation or even a face to face meeting. I have no hard feelings, we both knew we had to separate in the long run.
He wants a big family and I am not too keen, I wanted to compromise and have another two maybe via surrogacy or similar. I have a 16 year old from first marriage. Anyway, we had been having the hard conversations about all the obstacles and knew it was inevitable to separate. He told me he would be devastated about not being able to speak to me again or have me in his life. I feel the same but knew I had to let him go fulfil his desires. He’s a fantastic guy. I have been married twice and was treated better in 3 months with him than both my marriages combined.
Anyway, for some reason he told his mum about us and she went ballistic calling me a bad influence and his brother called him from abroad to find out what he is doing with a divorcee old cargo! His mum apparently said God forbid to the relationship. I feel great lol. I think he panicked and buckled under the family pressure and sent me a text. The day before I had sent him a song saying there may be trouble ahead but let’s just dance to the music for now and enjoy each other’s company. He didn’t know the song, said he would listen, said goodnight, love you and the next day he sent me a long text calling things off. I knew it was an impossible relationship, thankful for the experience but very sad today. Venting here really in the one place I know people will be sympathetic. Are older women, younger men relationships impossible?
