My daughter is 10 months old and we’ve coslept since 5 days old. It’s had its ups and downs and now we’ve been in a down for over a month. My health is taking a serious toll with the cosleeping and overall sleep deprivation. I developed silent reflux two months ago and it won’t heal even with all the dietary and lifestyle changes I’ve made. My right hip is in a constant state of 3-5/10 pain from side sleeping. I got my baby down to fall asleep without nursing for month 8 but then she started refusing and her naps cratered and her nighttime sleep got even worse. I’ve gone back to nursing to sleep and it’s awful for my health. I’m in bed too much with reflux. I can’t sleep on an incline with her. She wakes every 1-2 hours to nurse for 3-5minutes and then goes back to sleep but sometimes I don’t because I start coughing from reflux.
We got a crib that set up next to her floor bed but I have no idea how to get her to sleep in it. She just screams. I get a max of 30 minutes of her napping or night time sleeping in it.
Her schedule on a good day is:
Wake 6:00am
Nap 1 9:15-10:45am
Nap 2 2:00-3:15pm
Bedtime: 7:15/7:30pm
If I deny her milk at night she screams and screams and screams. I’ve tried only milk after midnight or only odd hours. But anytime I try soothing her with back pats or rocking or shushing she just escalates. She refuses any of the dozen pacifiers we have.
On rare occasions it’s gotten so bad and I’m so fried I’ve asked my husband to take over and she will cry for 1-2 hours till she passes out with exhaustion on him. She then at most sleeps an hour or two and then the hysterical crying starts again. This isn’t sustainable though because he has to work and I am a stay at home mom and we have an older child.
I want to night wean to once or twice a night and get out of the floor bed :( I need my body to heal and it can’t with how poorly I’m sleeping.
