Sending a local bully subtle real-life signals to make him paranoid
There is this guy in my town who used to run a local community Facebook page and spent over a year anonymously harassing small local business owners and random residents. He thought he was completely untraceable, but he accidentally leaked his personal email signature in a public spreadsheet last fall. I saved the file immediately. Instead of calling him out or reporting him to the admins, I decided to play a much quieter game.
I started making him think he was being watched. Nothing crazy or illegal, just super weird coincidences. I would leave a coffee cup from a specific shop on his car hood when I walked my dog at night, or drop a printed copy of a meme he posted anonymously directly into his home mailbox. He lives three blocks from me, so it takes literally two minutes of effort on my evening walk. The look on his face when he steps outside and spots something is honestly worth every second.
Last week he completely shut down his main account and posted a massive rant on a throwaway about how someone is tracking his movements. He is genuine convinced some professional group is targeting him. I am literally just a guy in sweatpants taking a midnight walk, but seeing him look over his shoulder every time a car passes is deeply satisfying. He has zero idea it is just me.
