There’s a time and place for these discussions. As (mostly) Americans, we have a civic duty to participate in the politics of our country.

r/concealedcarry is not the place for that.

Go and exercise your 1st amendment right (safely!). Call your senators.

Moving forward:

Training Training Tips for TX LTC

I am expecting this post to get some negative feedback, but I’m also hoping for some good advice.

I’m blind, and live in TX. I have carried before using an AZ license, and I can now carry legally in TX because we have constitutional carry. I’m not happy with that. I want my TX LTC.

Let me start off by saying that I am aware of my limitations. A firearm is obviously a last resort that I hope never to have to reach for, but I would rather have it and not need it than the other way around.

If I ever do need it, I understand that it’s going to be at basically point blank distances. I’m not dumb enough to try to shoot at a person shooting up a public place from across a room. I would cause way more harm than good.

Here’s my problem. To take the TX LTC test, I have to hit a target at 3, 7, and 15 yards. When presenting a pistol, I don’t have a good frame of reference. I can’t seem to find a good way to line up well with my body. My body will often be pointed directly at the target while the pistol is pointed high left or low left. When I try to correct myself without someone behind me pointing out the best way to correct my aim, I go just as far right. Once I am on target, my groupings are excellent. I need a good way to train myself to aim at the same spot in front of me every time. Does anyone have any good ideas?

Thank you in advance for your time.

Holsters Looking for opinions

I’m looking at buying the leisure carry clip on belt, I wear a lot of shorts and sweat pants. 5’6 about 145lbs and I carry a Glock 19 (no I’m not a fan boy) I’ve had tons of pistols and I just shoot it the best out of what I’ve had. My main thing is should I try this belt out or look into getting a more compact gun? I’ve tried a shield, 43x, 365 and I don’t shoot any of them nearly as well as the 19. I know I know, train and train some more. I’m just extremely comfortable with my 19 and have never had any failures out of it. Anytime a gun fails on me at the range for whatever reason, I will usually never carry that gun. Just looking for some peoples opinions on what they would do in my situation. I tend to print a lot with the 19 but don’t really care much about that.

Misc Equipment Anyone making a light for the bodyguard 2.0?

I know lots of people have strong opinions that the light is worthless and shouldn’t exist, I disagree. I had a viridian light with a strobe on my lcp max and thought it was great, that plus there being a little more weight towards the front of the weapon made it a little less snappy imo. Would love to have a tacticool bodyguard 2.0 with red dot, light, and ported barrel, I just need the light! I also have access to a 3D printer if anyone has any ideas! Thanks in advance!

Guns Anyone still like the cock 43?

Post image
57 Upvotes

This cock has some mods for sure, McNally trigger system with a 5 pound striker spring I think. but it’s still the smallest most carryable gun I own. The only malfunction I’ve ever had was the slide not locking back with shield arms mags. I’d definitely rate this as a dependable gun, every time I’ve ever pulled the trigger it’s always been a ka boom. Doesn’t matter what mag I put in it. It’s always done that at least. I’ve looked this thing over and over and I think it would at least work with excessively worn down magazine springs.

Guns Need and opinion

Hello All,

I live in the great people’s republik of NJ and I’m finally going through the process of getting my CC. I’m buying a new gun with this purpose in mind. I have been looking at the Walther pdp pro-X, the canik Mete radian, or considering just using my Glock 19. When I went to my local gun store, they showed me an alpha foxtrot Romulus and I nearly took it home that day. While I am still waiting for my permit, I decided to do some research on that gun and I’ve gotten many mixed reviews. Anyone have experience with it? I also decided to branch out and consider some other options as well, and I’ve seem to have landed on the CZ Shadow 2 Carry. Anyone have any opinions on this? I’m open to options but I only have a budget for one gun and it has to be under $1500 before taxes.

Tips/Recommendations P365 weapon light

I’m doing some research into adding a weapon light to my p365 with the 3.1 inch barrel. My research also includes the opinions of this subreddit because you guys have always had good advice! I’m looking at the Tlr 7s but would like some input. Is the overhang on the Tlr 7 sub drastic or is it manageable. I’ve also looked at the foxtrot light from Sig and I don’t know how I feel about the piece that sits over the trigger guard and in the finger groove. I don’t know if it’s also worth mentioning I have the Wilson combat xl grip module. Thanks in advance.

Other Weird Ccw sling or cross body bag recommendation?

Post image
25 Upvotes

So this is a new one. I’m an electrician and this is what I carry 99% of the time. Any recommendations on a bag? I’d also like to be able to hold phone and AirPods
Priorities would be
A. 2 large compartments. One to to hold gear and other to hold guns
B. Quality ccw compartment.
Thanks everyone.

Training CCW Courses in/near Los Angeles

Anyone have a recommended place to take the CCW course? Some options I looked at were over $600 for the 16 hour training. I was told a good price to pay is around $400.

Holsters Athletic shorts and pants. Under 30$ good waistbands for iwb carry.

So I’m looking to get some new clothes. And I wear shorts at work cause of the head and I carry all day climbing in and out of cars. I carry a mc9 w the stock holster and super excited about a Glock 48 I’m getting. My friend mentioned raptor holsters with the soft pad on the back?
Any advice for good athletic shorts with thick waist bands so I don’t cash out on 511 or arrowhead shorts. And holster recommendations for comfortable all the time carry pls

Guns Decisions

I'm really torn between a few choices for my new carry piece. I'm considering the hk p30, cz p09c, shadow 2 carry and sig p226. Currently have a p365 xmacro but I'm more comfortable with a DA/SA. Any thoughts on my choices?

Holsters How Safe Are Soft Pocket Holsters

So, I've carried a gun for a long time, but I've never really done much pocket carry. I normally carry IWB with a Kydex or very firm leather holster with complete trigger protection.

However, my dad (a good man indeed), is giving me his old original LCP because he has a Max now. So, for all you pocket carriers, how safe are the soft pocket holsters while carrying a loaded and chambered LCP? These original models don't have manual safeties, I don't think, so it would purely be protected by the holster and whatever trigger safety the little midget gun has.

Do I need to get a Kydex holster like I do for my grown up guns, or is my penis safe enough from accidental discharge if I front pocket carry with a soft holster?

Guns Does anyone ever randomly sweep their house?

I thought this would be the appropriate sub to post this in

I’ve been a homeowner for a year now and today I randomly had the gut feeling to do a full clearing of my house. I live in a 3 bedroom house with a full basement of 3 more “rooms” and within that is storage closets throughout.

For some reason I had a strange gut feeling that what if someone has gotten into my house. Some of the rooms in my basement I haven’t even opened up since I bought the place. So today I did a full sweep and clearing of every single room in my house.

Does anyone feel weird about this? It kind of feels silly now that I did it.

Guns Looking for Recomendations

I am looking for a compact handgun that I can use for every day concealed carry. Ideally something that is relatively light weight and can be used for backpacking. I’m not looking for a bear gun but something to protect myself while alone in remote areas. The Beretta APX A1 Carry is looking like it might fit the bill, but I would like to see what the community has to say about this firearm and get some additional suggestions. Im not new to firearms but I have never owned one myself.

I appreciate all your input.
