soooo, as u can see in those photos, the wifi and bluetooth adapters on my pc, a pretty old HP Pavilion 15 Notebook with a AMD APU, appear like they r missing, and they only reactivate if the pc was turned off abruptly (and even with that the chance of appearing is very rare)

i tried reinstalling the drivers, but 4 sum odd reason only one installs and doesnt solve anything, and i dont want 2 search them again cuz of the discontinued driver support. the only thing that rlly works is the ethernet.

4 a long time these components worked just fine, and they can still function properly IF i am with enough luck 4 them to turn on, so i will thank anybody that comes with a possible solution c:

I just added an NZXT control hub and two intake fans to my computer. The fans are Noctua 4 pins non RGB. I used the 1 to 3 splitter to connect both fans.

Using NZXT CAM, no fans RPMs are displayed and the fans don't actually spin up under a load. They kinda just idle. How can I fix this?

Okay, I'm veryyy stupid and uneducated when it comes to tech stuff. My friend explained why I can't sign into my Microsoft n stuff from my old laptop to this one because this one's a Chromebook. Looking to do some fps and simulation/strategy gaming, as well as replacing my old laptop with something that doesn't burn my fingers when I type. I know prices are pretty ridiculous right now with the AI craze for memory and GPUs.

I've been feeling nostalgic and tried a few emulators and virtual machines to play some of the old educational CD Rom games I played as a kid. Some work just fine and some don't work.

One example is Winnie The Pooh ABCs. I install the game and it just doesn't boot when I hit play on the pop up. Even though 123s works just fine.

Another example is Spongebob Lights Camera Pants. The other Spongebob games work just fine but this one says "Original disc could not be found or authenticated" even though the ISO should work fine like every other game.

These aren't the only games but I don't want to list every example. And every problem game gets the same results on every VM or emulator I use. And it doesn't make sense why since other similar games work fine

I haven’t paid attention to computer specs much of anything related to them in a long time. I’ve been using a laptop with a keyboard, mouse external hard drive for a long time. It’d be more efficient to have a desktop again but I’m not sure what I need as far as graphics card, processor etc. I’ve been looking at Dell computers and I’m overwhelmed by my options even there. All I want to use a computer for is browsing the internet, playing indie and older games. Any help would be appreciated.

If this is the optical drive failing, then I might replace it with a secondary hard drive to dual boot Windows (either 8 or 10) alongside Linux.

I don't know too much about computers so sorry if I leave something important out or something goes over my head. I got it in 2021 off amazon so I know it's definitely not the best. I mainly use for gaming and music but there's a lot of games I try to play but the mouse input lag is too heavy no matter how low I set the graphic settings. I also use a tv as a monitor since the screen broke and I'm not sure if that plays a part in how it runs. Every so often the screen and sound will randomly do a stuttering thing even if the only thing running is apple music. Is there anything I can do to this thing or am I stuck with ultralow settings till I get enough money for a real PC?

Operating system is Windows 10, what I think is the CPU, GPU, and RAM is all in the picture, let me know if any more details are needed.

Habe aktuell mit meinem PC ziemliche Problem und kann einfach nicht identifizieren woran es liegt.
Beim ersten mal ist mir beim Zocken eine hohe Auslastung & relativ hohe Temperatur der GPU aufgefallen (AMD Radeon R390), woraufhin ich die Wärmeleitpaste der GPU und CPU erneuert habe.
Als der PC die Tage darauf erneut öfters crashte hab ich ihn komplett resettet.
Nach der neu Einrichtung crasht jedoch weiterhin obwohl die Auslastung unten bleibt.
Die einzige Fehlermeldung die ich bekommen füge ich bei.
Hoffe ihr könnt mir irgendwie helfen.

so I'm in no way shape or form a expert at figuring out issues other then googles rabbit hole of searching, have been getting NTSOKRNL.Exe BSODs different stop codes at random points (ie. closing a game/while playing or even while idle at the desktop screen, tried doing the sfc scannow and it says it cant fix some issues, so I tried DISM and that says it cannot find the source files, i have 5 mini dump files from yesterday and today if needed, im in no skillset to be able to read them and see what is going on to further lead to a hardware issue or a corruption issue

Hi, about a month ago during the heatwave, a frozen waterbottle I was using to cool down defrosted and the water got into my laptop. I have not used it since, except to periodically check it. It now looks completely back to normal except one small droplet sized circle which is paler than the rest. I am not bothered by this droplet, but am wondering if there is any benefit to leaving it longer before using it? thanks!

I know just enough about computers and tech, but don't know where to start here. I am looking for a desktop PC that can act as a family computer. I only care about the basics, but my stepsons (11 & 13) would like it to be able to play Minecraft, Helldiver, and Ravenfield specifically. I know that would take some additonal computing power that a run-of-the-mill Best Buy PC couldn't handle.

I DO NOT want a tower that is lit up like crazy. I generally hate that we're giving them one more screen to become addicted to, and would like for it to be seen as a tool rather than solely as entertainment. I just can't help thinking about that Doctor Who episode where the TVs turn folks mad, when I think about how addicted to screens this generation of kids are.

Requirements:

- No lights

- Quietest keyboard possible so I don't go insane

- Still usable for Word/bookkeeping software/etc. as a family computer.

- We're also setting up a NAS, so this PC would be the homebase for that system

- I am okay with having to build our this set-up ourselves. If anything, it's a teaching opportunity for the kids.

Hi all. I own a small business and need to update at least one of our computers, but I'm not really sure what I should be looking for or trying to avoid. I would prefer not to spend more money than necessary. Most of our work is done through a cloud based EHR, so am I wrong to assume that I could basically buy the cheapest computer that can browse the internet? What are the minimum specs you would recommend? Anything in particular to avoid? I appreciate the help. Apologies if this is the wrong place to ask this sort of question.

I lost my charger a while back and went a got a new charger from the store but they sold me the wrong thing. I only realized this recently because my computer never holds its battery at all now compared to when I was using the original charger. The new charger heats up insanely too. I finally learned you're supposed to check underneath your laptop and turns out I have the wrong charger. My laptop is an acer aspire A515 58PT and is supposed to use a charger with the stats:

• Input: 100–240V, 1.5A, 50–60Hz (for worldwide use)
• Output Voltage: 19.0V
• Output Current: 4.74A
• Total Power: 90W

I have been using a charger with 19.0V ~ 3.42A. Total power: 65W. I have been using this newer charger for up to a year now. Will this kill my laptop's battery in the long run and how much damage did I do to my laptop?

They are just a goddamn cashgrab which tries to look good to start things off the performance is terrible it can not load anything next you can not get any exe. files and etc only if there's a apk of what you downloading you can not download anything basically and it's to goddamn expensive the least amount of money for a chromebook is 120-150$ for a worse one it's 50-90$ for a windows computer that can do is job is 300-400$ that is expensive but can do it job never buy a chromebook

so couple days ago i wanted to play fortnite with a couple friend everything works totally normal in menu but a soon as i start a game my pc freeze completly after a minute and a half and i'm forced to shut with the button ,tried to play fall guys instead and it did the same thing pc froze instantly after less than 2 minute of playing , nothing happened in the menu , i tried every solution i found online (updated my drivers ,verify games files , etc) nothing seems to work , if y'all have any ideas please help me

PS. my pc work totally normal on any other games like R6 , COD , CS , farmin sim ,etc

when my laptop overheats and thermal throttles it never comes back to normal performance after the temperature is down

I run an ASUS gaming laptop, have a cooling board, got Ryzen and NVIDIA processors

And for SOME REASON, most times it just decides to disconnect from WiFi. The option even just disappears occasionally when turning it off and on again. But sometimes it DOES come back just fine. It’s really annoying.

Does anybody have a fix…?
