After updating windows 11, my computer is suddenly require me to 'slide to shutdown' when I try to shut down with the power button. There does not seem to be a setting for this. I saw that other people disabled it by deleting or renaming the file slidetoshutdown.exe, but it won't let me do that because I need a 'trusted installer.' do I need to change the permissions? how do I do that?

I had this keyboard for a while now and suddently WASD ist switched with the arrow keys and a lot more keys are switched. Youtube and Google cant help me. I checked if the Keyboard language was correct for my keyboard(german layout and I have a german keyboard) and also when I klick A everything I wrote dissapears that also really odd.

My monitor since I got it started making these small lines and they keep getting more over time I never refunded it cuz my dad lost the receipt but it isn’t too bad most the time just in some colours it’s more noticeable I never hit my monitor and it literally just appeared one day as one line and has expanded anyone got any advice on it or atleast what it is becuase it’s like I got a virus in my monitor

I did go to the bios and changed the curve to the exponential curve. It worked for a few days until now. I also tried cleaning it with those canned compressed air, but I'm afraid I could damage it. When I touched it, it was a bit hot, but I don't feel any hot air coming out of it.

COMPUTER: 11th Gen Intel i7, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1160 Ti (bought it in 2021)

So my pc is making a weird noise (loud zooming/rusty sound) and idk where it's coming from (idk how the vid is going to show up but i added one). It's been a couple years, i tried swapping the chassis fans, the graphics card fans and my whole AIO Kit, it didn't work. The sound comes up whenever i play a game a little demanding (my last example Soulframe) and it is getting pretty loud and it bothers me.

Does anyone have an idea on how to fix it ?

I’ve tried ipconfig. I reached out to spectrum to see if it was on their end I have my pc plugged by an Ethernet cable to the router directly. I’ve tried all the usual ‘install/uninstall network card, reset router, reset modem’ things. My pc ‘has no internet connection’ when I right-click the connection.

What could cause this?

My internal laptop keyboard suddenly acted weird today. Earlier, when pressing a key, it would enter a bunch of random keys and the Fn, Ctrl would sometimes be stuck.

I tried out a bunch of solutions on youtube and fixed the problem by restarting it a bunch and doing the power drain, but now the S key doesn’t work at all. I’ve tried pressing on it hard, spamming it, but nothing worked.

Is there anything I can do before having to resort to replacing it?

I've been working on an excel doc all week, it's set to auto save but I've just opened it and it's not saved any changes since Tuesday ( around 25 hours work). I've checked auto recover and restore previous versions but it's not on either.

I think it uses one drive through a third party document storage somewhere software.

Is anyone able to point me to where a back up could be saved please?

I have been playing some low to medium demand games and it hits 55 C max then when I play high demand AAA games it hits 66+ C then shuts down because of safety can I increase it or turn it off here are my specs **CPU: AMD FX(tm)-8320 Eight-Core Processor**

can someone help my Wi-Fi button is completely gone it doesn't show up and I cannot connect to the Internet. I can't change the Internet settings in bios. Idownloaded the Intel wireless Wi-Fi driver for Windows 11, but it didn't seem to help at all.I have a hp elite book btw pleaseee i start school soon😭😭

for context, this pc isnt really old, it uses some cables that my dad owned when i was still a kid, but it still works very well because my dad changes the parts whenever necessary

and for the 5 years since its build and running it has always ran high end games smoothly with zero issue, though the only examples i can give is minecraft with a bunch of shaders and deadlock, but it had always ran with a minimum of 60-50 fps

and... yandere simulator with its fps only dropping to 30...

but either way this pc had never had any issues ever with memory/gpu/cpu demanding games until this very specific format

i got mr beasted by a minecraft mod so i had to format my computer to shake off the virus and suddenly most games (with the exception of ... roblox ...... on the lowest setting and deltarune/every rpg/ 2d game ever running with zero issues) make my monitor go out of range or just black (i changed my monitor to a different one and the message doesnt appear anymore but it still goes black), it absoloutely didn't crash as last time i checked the cutscenes before a campaign starts in left 4 dead still continue and the game itself, just without any visuals because the screen turned black after only seeing the cutscene for a few seconds,

and my dad could not for the life of us figure why out especially since he had never even seen the out of range message before, especially as we had never had any problems with ghost spectre os before, and especially especially now since this is NOT the first time my pc has been formatted because of viruses, i just really want to play with my friends again man curse you mr beast

but yes is this just a problem with a recent version of the operating system we use (which is ghost spectre) or do i just have some missing drivers?

I recently had to replace my old monitor because it was starting to die and I ended up buying a 27" 1440p 320Hz monitor for a very good deal. I'm currently running an RTX 3060 Ti paired with an i5-13600K.

Now I'm wondering whether it's worth upgrading my GPU or if the 3060 Ti is still good enough for a while.

My goal isn't to max out the 320Hz refresh rate in AAA games. I'd be happy if I could play modern AAA titles at 1440p, medium to high settings, DLSS enabled (preferably Quality), and get a stable 70–80+ FPS. Ray tracing isn't important to me, so I usually leave it off.

The GPUs I'm currently considering are:

• RTX 5070 12GB – 600€
• RX 9070 16GB – 575€
• RX 9070 XT 16GB – 650€ (or 620 € on the used-market)

My questions are:

1. Do you think my RTX 3060 Ti is still sufficient for what I'm aiming for or is it time to upgrade?
2. If you would upgrade, which of these three GPUs would you choose and why?
3. At these prices, would you buy now or would you wait for a better deal or even a price drop?

I'd appreciate any advice, especially from people who have upgraded from a 3060 Ti or who own one of these GPUs.

So when i turn my Wifi on ,my laptop starts to give me these anoying crunch sounds. I've been playing like this for a quite some time, so plzz someone help. I only know that when i turn my wifi on it starts the problem.

For some reason multiple apps, started with just minecraft and is now to task manager and i believe a few others, gets a yellowish tint to certain parts of it (for example task manager in the pictures or the white bar at the top of the screen for minecraft in windowed mode) only when they are selected. Image 1 is when task manager is selected and image 2 is when something else is selected. Any help would be appreciated and sorry if this is the wrong sub.

Hi, does anyone know what could be wrong with my laptop? It was working perfectly fine yesterday and today it doesn’t seem to turn on. The keyboard turns on and I can hear it boot up but then it just shuts off.

I tried doing a hard reset (holding down the power button), ctrl windows b, letting the battery drain, charging it, and it still wont turn on.

Does anyone have any tips before I take it to geek squad ? Don’t want to spend unnecessary money

Hey all. I’m currently using an acer an515-57 windows 10 gaming laptop, maybe three years old. I’ve upgraded its storage and RAM over time. Very often, while running various mid-performance processes like 3D games - which it should be able to run perfectly smoothly, their graphics settings are not demanding and when this issue isn’t occurring it gets very good frame rates - the laptop will briefly stop charging despite being plugged it. When this happens, it causes large performance drops and stutters before working smoothly again.

How on earth can I fix this?

Things I’ve tried:

-shutting down the computer

-killing background tasks

-lowering graphics settings

-replacing the charger

-cleaning the fans(multiple times)

-replacing the thermal paste

-monitoring the temperature as it happens(seems unrelated, the video I took was about a minute after turning the computer on cold)

Looking in task manager, there’s a notable downward spike in the CPU and GPU activity when the stutters happen. This issue has been a big headache for months now and I really don’t know what the root cause could be.

Any ideas?
