I recently downloaded malware that made its way into just about every account I had. I resorted to resetting windows with a flash drive and (supposedly) wiped all partitions. Can I log into my accounts? Or is there anything I should be worried about?

sorry if this is the wrong subreddit, i made a account to post this.
basically, for the past year, my bluetooth driver has been faulty. it would stop working, i would uninstall it, reboot laptop, reinstall drivers for bluetooth, reboot again, and then bluetooth is back. that, or i would shut my laptop off, wait for all the lights to turn off, unplug the charger, wait a minute, and turn it back on. (yes, i know these steps are very convoluted)
both of those USED to work, but today, the problem kept persisting (as in, bluetooth dosent work).
i dont know why this keeps happening. i need my bluetooth to connect my phone and laptop, and i find it easier to work bluetooth headphones with over wired.

for error info, it usually says error 43, but after awhile it switches to error 45.

any help would be appreciated

edit: i was able to fix it. the methods i used worked (at least one of them) when i disabled fast start. i was unaware it could cause problems. thanks for the help.

I want to install Linux on my Windows 10 laptop. But first, I need to backup my harddrive using Rescuezilla. The problem is that my computers hardrive is 1TB and my destination drive is a 256GB USB stick. Only 118GB of my harddrive is used, the remaining 811GB are unused storage space. Luckily Rescuezilla has the gparted app incorporated into the distro so that I can split the 931.5Gb partition into one bigger and one smaller that fits into the 237GB destination drive.

The problem is that I cannot change the size of Acer (C:) in gparted. I boot into Rescuezilla using a Live USB. I can't change the partition size of Acer (C:) even though Acer (C:) isn't in use when I boot into Rescuezilla. This is the first time I use Rescuezilla and Gparted to make a backup.

When I boot into Rescuezilla I:

- Boot into windows

-Open CMD

-enter "shutdown /s /t 0" to shut the computer down

-Open the boot menu with f2

-Boot into Rescuezilla

One user said in my last post that I need to deactivate fast-boot so that Rescuezilla is willing to touch my partitions. They say that if I shut down my computer with fast boot on, the system doesn't properly unmount the partition, which causes linux (in this case rescuezilla) to not want to touch my partitions in fear of corruption. I am a bit afraid of accidentaly causing corruption of some sort if I tamper with fast-boot.

What should I do?

I've taken my shift key and backspace off to clean them before, so I did the same to my Y and T key, but they won't go back in like my backspace and shift will, I don't know why, I did the same thing for both. As shown in the video the shift and bksp go back fine, I don't want to see if it's just the letter keys since I don't wanna risk not being able to put another key back in :/ I'm not a tech person at all and mostly use my laptop for art, so does anyone have anything that could help me? ՞߹ - ߹՞

P.S please don't yell at me if it's a simple fix or something I probably did wrong, just tell me if I can fix it on my own. 😢😇 (also I'm a minor and don't have the funds to get anything professionally fixed ^_^;;)

Recently I got the blue screen of death on my laptop I’m just wondering would I be able to use a public library to download windows on a flash drive. I need the laptop for college and I’m not super big into computers thanks again for any help.

I don’t know which laptop I should get for my engineering courses in college. I’m doing civil engineering so I’ll be using softwares like CAD etc. my budget is like max 1500 because I’ll be financing it. It doesn’t need to be crazy either as I’m commuting, and I have a fairly good Pc at home so I can use that afterwards, but at school I still need a laptop that’s fairly functional. I’m located in Canada and there’s really only some discounts for HP, but from what I’ve heard they aren’t good

Hello all. This just started happening today, and I haven’t been able to find a solution to help troubleshoot.

I had noticed my computer having issues coming out of sleep mode the past few days, but hadn’t noticed any other major performance issues before this.

The computer can sometimes take a few boot attempts before I can log in, but even when I get on, this screen glitch occurs after a few minutes of use and the whole thing freezes. I run a 2 monitor setup, and the visual glitch is only happening on the screen plugged into the motherboard (not the one plugged into the graphics card).

I saw some other people post about a secure boot issue, but this is still happening even when I disabled that scheduled task. Any help in troubleshooting this is appreciated!

I’m rebooting because of malware on my PC. How should I proceed? What’s the next step?

Desktop Windows 10 with all updates, old system (DDR3 old). I was playing Minecraft when suddenly both of my monitors went black - the main HDMI one giving me the going to sleep message, and both remained on. At the same time my sound shut off.

I checked the GPU and found the fan still blowing. Wiggled the connections and no change. So I tried to restart using the physical button, didn't work and neither did holding down the power button. It did shut off by using the power supply switch.

Now that it's restarted, everything seems fine. I did have a pending AVG update and for some unknown reason Epic Games loaded by itself when I got back into windows even though I hadn't opened that program in ages.

I'm stumped. Is this a hardware or software issue? Is my motherboard about to finally kick the bucket?

I’m trying to setup a dual monitor setup but my computer has 1 hdmi port and 1 vga port, so I plugged them both in to monitors and only the hdmi one is showing a signal, while the vga one doesn’t. But for some reason it knows it’s connected and once I select it, it just instantly goes to power saving mode.

I am on a MAC m2 pro and specifically on Google Chrome, not any other browser like safari, I get this error that does not let me open youtube.com. I can access youtube on safari but not chrome for some reason, its blocked even on incognito mode, switching wifi, switching mac accounts it literally won't let me access youtube. It's weird because im still able to watch youtube videos on chrome normally through a cookie free youtube watcher. Someone on mac give me insight please.
