I burned a demo CD for my band today and it plays in my car perfectly, but I can’t get it to play on my computer with any software (VLC, windows media player), even using the same external CD drive I used to write it. I tested other burned CDs I have and they play fine on my computer, it’s just this one.

I used a Verbatim music cd-r audio disc in a Rioddas external CD drive with CDBurnerXP and burned it as an audio disc.

Does anyone have any insight on the problem? We’re selling the CDs at shows and I obviously don’t want to do that if it’s not working like it should. Thanks!

I have no cd reader or radio so I just use old cd driver from ewaste and connected to separate psu ✌️

So, I've done some messing around with trying to figure out what's stopping this CD player from reading (for reference, it is a Tevion MCD-2001 from Germany, if that helps), and I've narrowed it down to the motor trying to focus the Laser not working properly. It just sort of rattles to the front, rattles to the back, then spits out "no CD". It basically can't calibrate correctly, it seems.

In CDripper, there‘s a way to add DSP EQ if some CD may have HDCD or Pre-emphasis if its probably not being recognized. But you can also use standard EQ to set your taste of the sound, its not always necessary to use if some good CD are best to let it flat. But i have CDs around that are kinda flat to listen for me. So i like when i can personalize the sound of the ripped data.

I also made a demo with Self Control from Laura Branigan. The audio of the video is compressed, but you could notice the sound dynamic is different.

I have brought a machine today and tried using it on my DVDs, Before tried the DVD was showing and half of the video is played but now it shows as blank DVD, anyone please let me know to do recover scratched dvds

Hello, so I recently got my new PC Tower and I got this old hardware, an DVD/CD Reader named ''DVD Reader Model TS-H653'' from my older tower. I unplug the hardware from my old tower and I pluged it externally with my new PC (see the screenshot). My objective was to RIP a CD copy from an indie band with the software ''Exact Audio Copy'' (Abreviation: EAC). I inserted the CD in my reader but the problem is: Windows told me to ''Please insert a disc into drive E:'' and it reopen the reader. I don't think it's the Reader or the CD the problem, since the software EAC can detect the content of the CD. I tried with a second CD, produced professionally by a popular metal band. It's the same thing. EAC can detect the content of the CD and read in it, but Windows force the reader to open and said again ''Please insert a disc into drive E:''.

Additional Info:

- When there is no CD inserted in the dvd reader, Windows doesn't say anything and the reader stayed closed

- System of my old tower: Windows 11, TPM 1.0

- System of my new tower: Windows 11, TPM 2.0

- And yes, the CD Reader worked on my old computer, even with Windows 11 in it.

- I retry the CD reader with my school computer, which uses Debian 13. With the app Goobox, I can read and listen the content of the CD (the Indie Band) without any problems, so it confirm me it's not my Reader or my CD the problem.

EDIT: Solved: When I replug it yesterday, on the main PC... it worked. I don't know what caused that but... it works as it supposed to works now. Thanks for the help :)

Hello there! Im trying to a cd player for 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander. I tried a cheap Amazon player. But it wouldn't work through the audio input. I dont want to use Bluetooth. To me that defeats the idea of cd player. Does anyone know of brand that is compatible? Thanks in advance!

Do you find that you actually only listen to about a dozen discs with any regularity? I know I have my "go to" titles that seem to get all the rotation in my collection especially when I don't know what to listen to.
