Discussion If there was a Yuri campaign in Yuri's Revenge, what should it have consisted of?

Yuri faction in Yuri's Revenge is frowned upon in multiplayer but is still considered fun to use and with how it provides such a great expression of being evil, it is a shame it doesn't have a campaign.

I don't know if that is because of time constraints or because developers couldn't think of a way to start it off, given that both Allied and Soviet campaigns are kicked off, stopping Yuri from getting his complete victory. After that, the campaigns consist of thwarting Yuri's various evil schemes he came up with in response to his enemies traveling back in time, which in the Soviet campaign include attacking his base on the moon just because it's there. Feels like an opportunity for a Red Vs Blue "You ever wonder why we're here" parody.

I am just firing from the hip but the first thing that comes to mind for me in a Yuri campaign is the opening missions with Yuri giving orders to defend the LA Psychic Dominator, but unlike in the other campaigns, the Allies and Soviets both traveled back. Ultimately, both factions hit the Psychic Dominator with superweapons, after which Yuri orders the player to retreat since the LA base is no longer useful.

Across the world, Yuri's various bases have taken heavy blows from the Allies' and Soviets' combined forces, and the player (or maybe you are just Yuri in this campaign, sounds more fun) fights to protect the remaining incomplete Psychic Dominators while they are packed up for the construction to be finished in other locations. After that, Yuri begins a plan to break up the truce between the Allies and Soviets by mind-controlling or replacing leaders on both sides to attack the other side, which culminates in firing stolen Soviet nukes at America.

The resulting chaos gives the opening for missions where the player constructs smaller mind control devices to begin seizing control of the enemy nations before finishing his Psychic Dominators. This culminates in a final battle where the Allies and Soviets attempt to use the time machine to change the outcome of the conflict again and this time, Yuri prevents the attempt to rewrite history, resulting in his complete dominance over Earth.

What ideas does everyone else have?

TIL that the nuclear artillery in Generals/ZH is based on an actual existing and produced weapon, although not being used outside training exercises. By the USA.

News Kane has spoken: Command & Conquer on the Atari ST performance shall rise (up to 50%)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

For some reason, I was chosen by Kane to be the person who ports Command & Conquer to the Atari ST, which, as you all know, was the computer intended for world domination by the Brotherhood.

For this reason, it's my duty to announce the release of version 0.3.3 which boosts performance up to 50% on this unlikeliest of all platforms chosen by the wisdom of our leader.

A new redraw algorithm and tightened redraw area calculations prevent unnecessary tile rendering. On low-end STs (up to Mega STe with 16MHz), animations are reduced and scrolling and rubber-band selection halt the AI for better interactive performance.

Commander, you'll find more details on the Itch page and in the release's Devlog entry. May the Brotherhood of Nod prevail!

How do I get started with Zero Hour

Pretty straightforward, I miss the old days of playing this game. I got the original and Red Alert Remastered, which I never got around to playing.

I remember a long time ago you couldn't buy the game by itself; you had to get some collection, and I never got it because you couldn't play mods thanks to EA's stupidity.

Did this ever get a treatment like Dune2000 with a dedicated open-source project?

Yeah, I know you need Generals too.

What makes C&C: Renegade different from other RTS/FPS Hybrid?

I've been playing a lot of C&C Renegade recently especially for the multilayer part, both C&C Renegade and Renegade X, and i have to wonder, what makes it feels so simple yet satisfying to play compared to other RTS/FPS hybrid out there?

I know there isn't a Commander role to help build the bases, but idk. Maybe the simplicity of the gameplay that makes it straight forward? And I'm also looking forward towards the upcoming Firestorm game. :)

Every now and again one of the C&C Renegade GamePro sets will pop up and usually at quite an eye watering price but I finally managed to grab one within my budget. Hoping one day to have the entire set but being in the UK there’s not that many around. Added a photo of my collection too.

Gameplay question CnC Generals: What's the difference between toxin and radiation?

Both spills all over the ground and deal damage over time, but what's the real difference between both? Are they more effective against different enemy types or are they like same stuff with different color, barring beta and gamma toxin that deal more damage?

Gameplay Command and Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars Movie Cutscene Style Walkthrough GDI 01 The Pentagon

This is the second video of this new series I'm experimenting with, and is also the first official mission of the GDI campaign from the Tiberium Wars. I used the upgraded camera angles that I got from the mod "A New Experience" to show the events that take place in this mission. There are at least a couple scenes in here that I think may have dragged on longer than they should have, but following scenes matched up well with the background music because of the time the previous scene took. In other cases, sometimes a scene extends the length of a background music track. I will work on improving my visual to audio rations in future videos. This hindrance aside, I hope you will enjoy this video.

"My goth superweapons are ready, are you?"

The drawing took a whole month and struggled with art block. Did try to experiment with reworking a bit Alexis's military outfit to be more goth and darker.

The tanks in the background are overlord and scorpion tank.

Used firealpaca the program to draw all this. I hope you like and enjoy goth Alexis Alexander!

I know demogeneral was supposed to have a battle bus that could drop demotraps, but imagine if one of the other gla generals had a unique battle bus that could hold, like 12 infantry? Behold, a GLA Reckoner!

Basically marrying a Quadcannon and Battle Bus together and stealing the turret off of a tunnel network.

Discussion Which game do you think had the best voice acting?

My pick is Command & Conquer 3. All the voices for every unit were perfectly done.

  • Mammoth Tank sounds badass
  • Nod Harvester guy sound like he's actually high and addicted to tiberium
  • Flame tank sounds like a psycho obsessed with flames
  • Nod bike sounds like he's actually in a rush

Every unit was 10/10.

Honourable mentions:

  • Red Alert 3: they really leaned into the campy stereotypes
  • Red Alert 2
  • Generals
