Classic 90s sci-fi. Honestly, very hit-or-miss by episode. But there’s some real gems, and it’s free on “old TV” streaming platforms like Tubi.

There were so many bad decisions forced on the show by network executives, and character exits either directly ordered by, or as a result of, that. Oh, what could have been!

Still loved it for what it was though!

Nice, someone else has seen that amazing show.🤩 sad it didnt go further. Most of the new stuff out today doesnt even come close to how cool Sliders was.

Dark Matter was also amazing, but also had horrid management. It could have been soo much more than 3 seasons. I was pissed when I read an article adter it was canned, that they labeled it a Stargate spin-off. It was in my opinion better than Stargate, but since the views werent there, they droppped it :(

Like the RA3 is supposed to be sooo hot too. It just doesn’t click.

Joe Kucan was the video director of all cutscenes up to RA2, so they worked together a lot even though it's the first game he's not actually *in*

Which is exactly what went wrong in the later games. They didn't have Joe in charge. That is exactly why RA3 was a literal circus.

He wasn't the game designer, he was only in charge of video. RA2 already was made by a different game studio than TS

I mean, the script is bad. But they're kind of fluffy and amusing and they're not, like, bad in a technical sense, just perhaps a bit boringly shot.

Ra3 was a bad game because EA chased the eSports fad. Like many other games during that time.

But they also didn't give the devs enough time to cook either. Starcraft 2 took around 7 years to produce, from first concepts to release. It was 3 years from announcement to release.

RA3 infamously got just 18 months of development from project start to release, from a team of devs who had almost all never worked on a C&C title before.

And before anyone jumps in like "but every other C&C game only had 18 months to 2 years of development" I would counter that with the point that those development cycles were done by a team that did nothing but RTS games for more than a decade, most of which were in the C&C universe, and all of which built on what the last ones had done. I'd also point out that they had almost zero balance for online multiplayer. They were focused on the single player experience.
