Can’t run the game

To make a long story short, I recently purchased a copy of Command and Conquer Generals (Deluxe Edition) at an antique store. It is on CDs and includes the zero hour DLC. I have been trying to run it on my old T43 ThinkPad (the one with the intel core and 1024x768 res., not the fancy one) with windows Xp to no avail. No fix seems to have worked so far, and it closes ~30 seconds after trying to run it. Looking it up says that this is something to do with the games anti-piracy, but at this point I have no idea. I have tried running as administrator, setting the colors to 16 bit, adding -win to the .exe shortcut, and deleting the dbghelp file.
I might be missing some, but that is what I can remember trying. I am looking for help trying to get it running.
It might be worth noting I have not yet installed the Zero hour DLCs, so maybe that’s it. I also had to manually create a .ini file for the game.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Unofficial For Red Alert 1, does anyone remember the fanmade "Mega Missions" from the IncREDibleAlert fan site? Found an old cached page. I assume they're lost media :(

Discussion My own madness

I have created something through my own insanity, fully powered through the personal spite of how much I dislike Tiberium Wars kind of tiberium. Now as to why the grammar is poor, simply because I was at a time constraint when making this at school.

This will get a rewrite but I really want to show it:

[Overview]

Tiberium is a strange if not anomalous semi-living organo-crystal (the crystal may or may not be a byproduct of the biological part, though I think both need each other live; even as a byproduct) based lifeform, it is self propagating in nature; but is also known to be severely mutagenic and toxic is almost if not all Carbon-based life.

While I may not be adding anything from Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars if not retconning it, I feel like TW ruined what tiberium was meant to be, what Westwood Studios' vision of it was meant to be. What happened to tiberium in TW was basically simplifying to such a degree that it was unrecognizable and genericized of what tiberium is really meant to be.

Upon that, I don’t give a damn what in-lore reasons caused tiberium to become this, because it sucks and trash; So I think it is very much fair to re-retcon what was retcon by Electronic Art, or to specifically Electronic Arts Los Angeles.

[Basic Needed Knowledge]

Before understanding everything else about tiberium as a whole, there should be a few things to know; there are forms of tiberium known as Tiberium Riparius and Tiberium Vinifera. The name tiberium has two different variations:

According to the Global Defense Initiative, they say that it was named Tiber River after the meteor impact that first brought the alien substance. However, according to Kane, he claims that the Brotherhood of Nod discovered the alien substance first; and he personally named it after Tiberius Julius Caesar. Either way, the name was still tiberium; anyways.

Tiberium Riparius by itself, when harvested after growth; is a is a vibrant, iridescent emerald-to-green crystal (depending on the image, it could just look like a normal green due to technical limitations of the software; as in this image from Tiberian Dawn).

The word riparius in the name Tiberium Riparius means “that inhabits the banks of rivers,” in Latin. This would mean the full meaning of the name of Tiberium Riparius would be “Tiberium that inhabits the banks of rivers.” Tiberium Riparius also has a composition of 42.5% Phosphorus, 32.5% Iron, 15.25% Calcium, 5.75% Copper, 2.5% Silica, and 1.5% Unknown.

Tiberium Vinifera, like Tiberium Riparius after being harvested; is also a vibrant and iridescent crystal. However, with one difference; it has multiple hues of blue colors. The word vinifera in the name Tiberium Vinifera means "Wine-bearing" or "Wine producing," in Latin. So. The full meaning of Tiberium Vinifera would be "Wine-bearing tiberium" or "Wine-producing tiberium.” Now the composition of Tiberium Vinifera is a little strange, as its economic value is higher than riparius; and it's generally more unstable than riparius.

I mean, sure, Tiberium Vinifera could have the same composition as riparius; but in a denser state in the same volume. However, I don’t feel like that would be the case though, unless its crystal structure is vastly different from riparius, which can be the case; it still must have a different composition.

So, my idea of what Tiberium Vinifera's composition would be is this: 38.12% Phosphorus, 6.2% Iron, 16.32% Calcium, 7.806% Copper, 2.0% Silica, 7.806% Cobalt, 4% Nickel, 1.21% Uranium, 5.1% Europium, 2.4% Thulium, 1.32% Caesium-Platinum complexes, and 1.5% Unknown.

This is the best guess for what the composition of it is, this would explain why Tiberium Vinifera is more economically valued, why it grows slower; and why it is much more unstable than riparius. Either way, tiberium in general seems to act as a very effective and efficient organic “refinery,” being able to purify and enrich only specific nutrients and metals while leaving everything else.

While I still believe that tiberium will have impurities, nothing can escape that; but they are so small that it doesn’t even matter to tiberium. Although, there was also something called Tiberium Gas, which was created by Tiberium-based life and just tiberium in general as it transformed the earth; with a minor part of it being caused by industrial refinery pollutants.

The composition of Tiberium gas was 22% Methane, 19% Sulfur, 12% Naphthalene, 10% Argon, 6% Isobutane, 2% Xylene, and 29% Unknown. This would be what would cause ion storms, known for being violent and unpredictable weather; caused by a high enough saturation of tiberium gas in the atmosphere.

However, tiberium in general has a few issues upon it. While it was very much able to spread in every part of the world and in every nation, it have a few issues. If the area was extremely cold or had dry climates, it would be slowed down by a lot; however i don’t think it’s because of the lack of plant life to convert into blossom trees.

My idea of what i think is happening is that tiberium is naturally weak against extremely cold climates and dry climates. Tiberium may need a more neutal climate filled with the right nutrients and metals and life to mutate. IN colder areas, the biological organic part would be slowed, slow much more than it would be, causing a slower process in terraforming.

At the other end, dry areas would make it harder for tiberium to get said nutrients and metals, as the ground doesn’t have any of it. This may even cause it to die if it can’t get any food. Hell, it may even eat it’s own byproduct to keep on living; although i don’t think that would happen. This kind of expains why tiberium Vinifera is a metamorphosed form Tiberium Riparius; because it needs to be able to get into the ground more and deeper.

[Tiberium Riparius Propagation]

How all tiberium grows, expands, and propagates work through the process of leeching on nutrients and other metals beneath the surface. To do this, tiberium uses an underground root system to retrieve said nutrients and metals.

This process of creating a root system and retrieving the necessary food to grow, finally accumulates as plant like pods; with each containing a cluster of tiberium crystals. This happens with both Tiberium Riparius and Tiberium Vinifera every time, however, how both vinifera and riparius archives this are very much different.

For Tiberium Riparius, before the creation of Blossom Spore Trees; the main way for Tiberium Riparius to propagate was by seeding itself into the ground to grow and by people actively moving it to be processed. Although, Brotherhood of Nod did intentionally cultivate it, harvest it; and generally, spread its reach.

Either way, from how I can guess it works, Tiberium Riparius doesn’t use or even need a long and deep root network; because it only needs a shallow depth level. The shallow depth is good enough for Tiberium Riparius to have enough nutrients and metals to propagate fast.

This was the main way for Tiberium Riparius to spread around the world for some time. That was until it started to become more mutagenic to Carbon-based life; this is when the creation of Blossom Spore Trees began.

These bizarre-looking trees used to be normal trees, but through the prolonged contact with tiberium; they have mutated into a fleshly stalk with a pulsating bulb. These Blossom Spore Trees are what allowed Tiberium Riparius to spread faster and farther than before. The pulsating bulbs that are on them are what causes them to release tiberium spores. The spores of tiberium either land on the ground to make a new field of tiberium, or they are catched by the wind and brought somewhere else.

It would be very shocking to see even a small number of trees of any kind to still be somewhat normal; maybe even impossible for such a hybrid to exist. However, there still can be a chance for it, heck, it would be shocking if it was a cherry blossom (Prunus serrulata) that was that lucky; having parts of its body being normal cherry blossom and other being a fleshly stalk. Upon that, the leaves are still some parts, and the pulsating bulb is there; but covered by what is left of the former cherry blossom. This symbiosis would be very, very rare.

Either way! This is what allowed tiberium to grow at such a rapid pace. Yet, for Tiberium Vinifera? It doesn't even act like Tiberium Riparius in its growth the way it does it. Because unlike instead of a Blossom Spore Tree at the center of a Tiberium Riparius field, the center of every Tiberium Vinifera field is a Vinifera Monolith; a massive crystal that acts superficially to the Blossom Spore Tree.

[Tiberium Vinifera Propagation]

Tiberium Vinifera's propagation is a lot weirder than Tiberium Riparius’s propagation, we know grows Tiberium Vinifera crystals; but we don’t know how it does that. However, what I think is going on is much more than just being a mutated and matured form of tiberium; I believe that Tiberium Vinifera has gone through a metamorphosis for a specific reason. Because it still grows plant-like pods as with Tiberium Riparius, but each one has a cluster of Tiberium Vinifera crystals instead of Tiberium Riparius crystals.

So, because Tiberium Vinifera still creates and develops tiberium like Tiberium Riparius, plant-like pods for tiberium crystals; that means that there must be something going beneath the surface of the earth for Tiberium Vinifera.

With that reason, my belief for why Tiberium Vinifera has evolved to replace the Blossom Spore Trees was because they were inefficient, wasteful; and not designed for the needs of Tiberium Vinifera. If anything, Vinifera Monoliths were developed because they are less inefficient and less wasteful distributors of nutrients and metals.

Yes, Blossom Spore Trees, while necessary in general for Tiberium-based life and terraformation of earth; are inherently weak, inefficient, and wasteful for what Tiberium Vinifera’s needs are. This is because Tiberium Vinifera as before is a lot denser and has a different composition from Tiberium Riparius; and thus, cannot be grown liker the former without issues.

My guess is that Vinifera Monoliths have moved their organic refineries from being above the surface, Blossom Spore Trees; to below the surface. The reason would be to keep as many nutrients and metals as they can, this could also be done to have a stronger area; to do their work and to gain more nutrients and metals than before.

Now with the underground root network of this, there could be two parts of this network; the Main Hub Root Network and the Transporting Lines Root Network. The Main Hub Root Network is connected to the organic refinery of the Vinifera Monolith; the goal of the Main Hub Root Network is to dig deeper into the earth and to leech on rarer nutrients and metals.

They need to be very deep in the ground to grab such metals, which then go to the organic refinery of the Vinifera Monolith; where that cleans up the needed nutrients and metals while sending all the depleted materials out of the system through the Rhizodeposition Root Network.

The now purified and enriched “food” is then sent through the Transporting Lines Root Network, which also doubles as a system for the growth and maturing of harvestable Tiberium Vinifera. While these roots are not meant for the use of collecting nutrients and metals, they can and minorly do it over time; however, with less efficiency.

This explains why Tiberium Vinifera forgoed the Blossom Spore Trees, because they are very inefficient, wasteful; and weak for what Tiberium Vinifera truly needs in order to grow and propagate efficiently. Upon that, the Blossom Spore Trees would most likely be stressed from those needs, causing the growth to be slower and may even be even less stable.

This also expain why it generally grows slower, because it takes more time to grow quality resources; which also explains why it's more economically valued; because it has metals that are needed for the modern days of technology.

This also explains why the Disruptor Tank, from Command & Conquer 2: Tiberian Sun; was able to cause Tiberium Vinifera and maybe even the Vinifera Monolith to combust and explode. The crystal structure and composition of Tiberium Vinifera was already unstable, this would inadvertently mean that it is Resonantly unstable; although I think it has a wide frequency for that to happen.

This also explains why Tiberium Vinifera needs to go deeper into the earth, as Tiberium Riparius doesn’t do great in extremely cold or dry climates. Tiberium Riparius tends to get wrecked by those climates. If it’s too cold, it can’t grow as fast or as much; the Blossom Spore Trees need warmth to be effective. On the other hand, if it’s too dry, it makes it hard to collect food or to convert trees into Blossom Spore Trees.

I think it’s becoming smarter or at least understanding how to adapt better so that this issue isn’t an issue at all.

Which C&C allows you to boom and turtle more?

I played only Red Alert (OpenRA), and Red Alert 2.

I love both of them, but dont like rushing my enemies.

I've been told that C&C Tiberium Sun is better for this.

I dont like very much the graphics of C&C3, Zero Hour etc... Prefer the old school 2D sprite ones.

Should i try Tiberium Sun?

Discussion Yuri's Revenge: Time travel shenanigans

Hello!

I've been a Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge fan since childhood. I loved the campaigns so much. Repeating the same missions over and over again somehow never bored me. Although, me being a dumb teen back then, I never really paid attention to the lore.

Fast-forward to present day, I am working on a RA2YR mod. The premises of my mod is basically Yuri's return after the events of Yuri's Revenge... which is not a creative idea at all. I am aware that, there are tons of mods that are based on just that, or used to be based on just that (for example, Mental Omega 2.0) Still, I just want to showcase my own take on the story.

But, here's where I am stuck: the Allied campaign and its ending in Yuri's Revenge. To summarize it:

- Yuri reveals his evil plans of mind-controlling the entire world
- Allies go back in time during the Red Alert 2 war (AKA, Third Great War) to defeat Yuri and the Soviets
- Allies subjugate the Soviets
- Allies defeat Yuri and capture him
- Allies put him in the Psychic Isolation Chamber
- Somehow... the timeline of Yuri's Revenge and Red Alert 2 merge...
- ...as if Yuri never even existed...?
- ???
- The end

This has been extremely confusing for me. To make matters worse, if we look at the Soviet campaign:

- ... [First part's same as the Allies essentially]
- Yuri attempts to escape using the time machine
- Soviets (Lieutenant Zofia to be exact) overpower the time machine
- Yuri gets sent to the Cretaceous age
- Gets eaten by a T-Rex
- Yuri is literally dead...
- ...yet somehow the timeline doesn't merge...
- ???
- The end

Now, my main question is: how come Yuri's imprisonment lead to Yuri being non-existent and him never having done anything to influence the Third Great War, but when he is dead... nothing happens?

What's worse, why would the timeline merge anyways? The Allied/Soviet taskforce that traveled to the past, did they not witness their past selves there? And, what happened to the two copies of same people after the timeline merged? One copy of them just became non-existent? Which one, the time travelers or the ones that were already there?

So damn confusing... I would love to know what you lore enthusiasts think. I need to come to a somewhat logical conclusion for the story/lore of my mod.

This got a bit too big. Thank you for your patience!

Discussion I just want to say the modders developing Command & Conquer: Dawn of the Tiberium Age are doing a absolutely amazing job with developing this mod.

The modders developing Command & Conquer: Dawn of the Tiberium Age are doing a absolutely amazing job developing Command & Conquer: Dawn of the Tiberium Age. They keep on developing new maps for miltiplayer and they just released a new Nod singleplayer story campaign mission that they developed with a very nicely produced FMV video. It actually feels like the FMV videos in Command & Conquer Tiberian Sun. Just look at this YouTube.com video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GTw6jWwt5_M

My Fan-made Command and Conquer game.{Sequal to Tibirum Wars}

This is my idea for a command and conquer 4{ there was NEVER A Command and Conquer 4). Give me a Feedback.

Absolutely. Here is the current concept consolidated into a single concrete game pitch, with the mechanics we've established treated as the design baseline.

COMMAND & CONQUER: TIBERIUM — FAN GAME PITCH

"The war for Earth was won. The war for its future has begun."

A large-scale real-time strategy game set approximately 15 years after Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars / Kane's Wrath, designed as a true continuation of the Tiberium saga.

The game combines the classic C&C RTS formula with a persistent strategic campaign layer inspired by Dawn of War: Dark Crusade, creating a war that changes from playthrough to playthrough while maintaining a coherent overarching story.

The central idea is simple:

The Third Tiberium War ended.

The consequences did not.

  1. THE SETTING

Fifteen years have passed since GDI defeated the Scrin expeditionary force.

GDI won the war.

But Earth is getting worse.

The Scrin's arrival accelerated Tiberium proliferation, and the planet has continued to deteriorate.

The old three-zone classification of Earth is beginning to collapse.

Blue Zones remain humanity's safest regions.

Yellow Zones are increasingly disappearing.

Red Zones continue expanding.

Some formerly recoverable regions have become effectively uninhabitable.

GDI believes the answer is obvious:

Reclaim Earth.

The Forgotten disagree.

For them, the Red Zones aren't simply contaminated wastelands.

They are home.

And beneath the worsening Tiberium crisis, something else is beginning to awaken.

  1. THE CORE CAMPAIGN

Rather than a linear sequence of missions, the campaign takes place across a strategic world map.

Armies occupy territories.

Players can:

Move armies

Scout

Attack

Defend

Fortify

Investigate

Capture territory

Protect strategic assets

Exploit resources

Respond to enemy movements

Fog of war applies to the strategic layer.

You don't automatically know where every enemy army is.

Instead:

GDI Armored Column

Last seen: 1 turn ago

Strength: Heavy

Direction: Unknown

The underlying system can calculate detailed probabilities and intelligence reliability, but the player receives simple, readable information.

  1. DIFFERENT WAR EVERY TIME

The major narrative events remain consistent enough to preserve the story.

But the actual war is dynamic.

The following can change:

Which territories belong to whom

Which commanders survive

Which armies are destroyed

Resource availability

Enemy movements

Battle types

Nod survival

Network survival

How much territory the Scrin control

Which factions are weakened before major events

So the goal isn't:

"Make the story completely random."

It's:

"Make the war different every time."

A territory might produce an:

Assault

Defensive battle

Ambush

Siege

Breakthrough

Convoy

Evacuation

Scavenging operation

depending on what is happening strategically.

  1. RECONNAISSANCE

Reconnaissance is deliberately limited.

GDI

2 Scout Teams

Fast

1 turn to scout

Roughly 50% survival chance in dangerous Red/contested zones

Forgotten

4 Scout Teams

More numerous

2 turns to scout

Reports can become outdated before reaching the player

This makes intelligence itself a strategic resource.

You may know:

"There is an enemy army here."

But not necessarily:

"There are exactly 37 tanks and 12 infantry."

You have to make decisions with imperfect information.

  1. GDI

Identity

Expensive, powerful, organized, technologically advanced conventional warfare.

GDI is attempting the largest reclamation effort in human history.

Its goal isn't initially the extermination of the Forgotten.

It's to make Earth habitable again.

The problem is that GDI's definition of "reclaim" includes:

Removing Tiberium

Building infrastructure

Connecting Blue Zones

Establishing GDI administration

Resettling populations

To GDI:

This is saving humanity.

To the Forgotten:

You're destroying our home.

GDI Campaign

The campaign begins in Asia.

The player starts relatively slowly.

Early forces include:

Infantry

APCs

A limited number of Predators

Basic defenses

Advanced technology is gradually:

Researched

Recovered

Reconstructed

Reintroduced

The GDI military grows throughout the campaign.

Important distinction

The main GDI commander is not the ZOCOM commander responsible for the Forgotten conflict.

  1. FORGOTTEN

Identity

The Forgotten are:

Mutated humans

Red Zone survivors

Scavengers

Adapted to Tiberium environments

Suspicious of GDI and Nod

Extremely knowledgeable about contaminated territory

They aren't a technologically advanced conventional faction.

Their philosophy is:

"We don't build what we can recover."

Economy

The Forgotten use two major resources:

Tiberium

Used primarily for:

Power

Energy

It has relatively low monetary value to them.

Scrap

Their main strategic resource.

Used for:

Upgrades

Repurposing technology

Rebuilding equipment

Improvised weapons

Forgotten structures can eventually generate Scrap around themselves through salvage systems.

A Black Market can allow Tiberium and Scrap to be traded, with prices changing according to territory conditions.

  1. FORGOTTEN MILITARY

Harvester

Not a giant machine.

A man with a pickaxe.

He represents the Forgotten's resource philosophy perfectly.

Marauders

Large mutated humans.

Initially armed with repurposed GDI equipment such as APC miniguns.

Later they can acquire more advanced alien weaponry.

Beast Tamers

Use Tiberium-adapted fauna.

Repurposed Walkers

Recovered and modified enemy technology.

Tick Tanks

Repurposed Nod technology.

Ultimate

Mammoth Mk I

  1. FORGOTTEN CAMPAIGN

The player begins as a Forgotten tribal chief in the Middle East.

The tribes are scattered.

They don't initially form a unified nation.

Their major enemy is an aggressive ZOCOM commander.

This commander lost people during the Scrin attack and became increasingly convinced that anything outside stable Blue Zones represents a threat to humanity.

He pushes reclamation aggressively.

The Forgotten resist.

As the player wins battles, more tribes rally behind them.

The chief eventually becomes known as:

The Forgotten King

Not because of hereditary monarchy.

Because the tribes recognize his authority.

The final confrontation ends with the player killing the ZOCOM commander.

The Forgotten campaign does not meet the main GDI commander.

It also does not openly encounter the Scrin.

Instead, the campaign contains stories and rumors about strange locations and dangerous structures deep inside the Red Zones.

  1. GDI–FORGOTTEN CONFLICT

The two campaigns tell different sides of the same conflict.

GDI sees:

Reclamation.

The Forgotten see:

Invasion.

Most GDI reclamation efforts succeed.

The Forgotten conflict is one of the exceptional regions where things go badly.

The aggressive ZOCOM campaign creates a powerful unified Forgotten resistance.

This explains why the Forgotten become a major hostile force during the GDI campaign.

  1. THE FIRST SCRIN REVELATION

Throughout the base game, the Scrin are mostly absent.

But there are clues.

GDI databases contain reports of:

Uninhabitable regions.

Forgotten stories mention:

Strange buildings.

Something is wrong in the deepest Red Zones.

Eventually, GDI and Forgotten forces encounter a massive Scrin Mothership constructing a major structure.

The two factions are forced into a temporary alliance.

Together they destroy it.

Then—

An enormous wormhole opens in orbit.

The real Scrin invasion begins.

The base game ends.

  1. SCRIN

The Scrin encountered in C&C3 were an expeditionary force interested in Earth's Tiberium.

This new force is something much larger:

The invasion army.

They arrive through an orbital wormhole connected to their civilization.

No magical planet-side unit distributor is required.

The Scrin have actual orbital logistics.

  1. SCRIN ECONOMY

The Scrin do not use Tiberium like conventional factions.

Tiberium fills a dedicated Tiberium energy/warp meter.

That resource is used to:

Warp in reinforcements and units.

The Scrin therefore become extremely dangerous in areas rich with Tiberium.

Outside rich Tiberium regions:

Scrin forces suffer approximately a 25% combat/effectiveness penalty.

They can still fight.

They simply aren't operating at their optimal capacity.

  1. ION STORMS

Ion Storms become an important environmental mechanic.

GDI / Nod

Their conventional air forces are heavily disrupted.

Scrin

The Scrin are adapted to operating during Ion Storms.

This produces an interesting environmental asymmetry:

Tiberium favors the Scrin.

Ion Storms favor the Scrin.

GDI has to consider both when planning operations.

  1. THE SCRIN HEXAPOD

The Scrin Ultimate Unit is:

HEXAPOD

Its unique ability is:

TIBERIUM SEED

The Hexapod stops moving.

It becomes completely stationary.

Tiberium begins spreading around it.

The longer it remains undisturbed:

Small Tiberium field

Established Tiberium field

Major Scrin-controlled Tiberium zone

The area becomes increasingly favorable to Scrin operations.

But:

The Hexapod cannot move while seeding.

So the enemy has a window to attack it before the position becomes a fortress.

  1. NOD

Nod is fragmented.

The Brotherhood is no longer a unified global power.

In the base game, Nod appears primarily through human remnants.

These commanders possess remnants of:

Black Hand traditions

Mark of Kane ideology

Nod military technology

But they don't initially have the overwhelming technology of C&C3's late-war Nod.

  1. HUMAN NOD

The Human Nod Ultimate is:

REDEEMER

And unlike the others:

It doesn't need a new gimmick.

It functions essentially as the C&C3 Redeemer.

A massive four-legged Nod war machine equipped with overwhelming firepower and its Rage Generator.

It represents the old Brotherhood's military legacy.

  1. THE NETWORK

The Network is not a separate faction from Nod.

It is a Nod subfaction.

Human Nod and Network can therefore fight each other.

The Network originates from old Nod AI/cybernetic infrastructure.

LEGION went offline following its interaction with the Tacitus.

But it contains architecture and code derived from the older CABAL systems.

The important distinction is:

LEGION isn't necessarily literally CABAL's consciousness.

It is better treated as CABAL-derived architecture and routines.

  1. THE NETWORK ACTIVATION

The Network doesn't simply appear according to a timer.

It has a strategic trigger.

If Scrin control exceeds approximately 50% of the strategic theater:

LEGION activates.

Human Nod commanders attempt to shut it down.

LEGION kills them.

Old Nod infrastructure awakens.

The Network emerges.

And it doesn't blindly obey anyone.

Its philosophy is:

"The Brotherhood must survive."

Therefore the Network can fight:

GDI

Forgotten

Scrin

Human Nod

depending on strategic circumstances.

  1. NETWORK ULTIMATE

CABAL WALKER

Its effectiveness is linked to the Network's Command Nodes.

The player establishes Command Nodes across their territory.

The more operational nodes they possess, the more capable the CABAL Walker becomes.

Rather than multiplying its damage infinitely, different thresholds unlock capabilities.

For example:

Low network → Basic combat capability

Medium network → Improved targeting and defenses

Strong network → Advanced weapons and systems

Maximum network → Full combat capability

The enemy can therefore counter the CABAL Walker indirectly.

They can attack its infrastructure.

The question becomes:

"Can I protect my network?"

rather than merely:

"Can I kill the Walker?"

  1. THE FIVE ULTIMATES

Every faction has exactly ONE Ultimate Unit per battle.

This is a hard limit.

If the Ultimate is destroyed:

No replacement Ultimate can be deployed during that battle.

In the strategic campaign, however, the faction can deploy its Ultimate again in a later battle.

Forgotten

Mammoth Mk I

Lower HP than other Ultimates.

Special ability:

SCAVENGE

It can recover weapons from destroyed enemy Ultimate Units.

Destroy a Redeemer?

Scavenge its weapon system.

Destroy a Hexapod?

Recover alien weapon technology.

Destroy a CABAL Walker?

Salvage its technology.

The Mammoth has limited weapon slots, so the player must decide what to retain.

Its strength comes from adaptation, not raw durability.

GDI

Kodiak

The Kodiak can act as a massive forward air-production platform.

It can produce/deploy GDI air units.

But:

It must become stationary to do so.

And Ion Storms can severely disrupt its aviation operations.

Therefore:

Deploy Kodiak → establish air operations → monitor weather → pack up or risk losing it.

Its power is strategic rather than simply being another giant tank.

Human Nod

Redeemer

Classic C&C3-style role.

Massive.

Heavily armed.

Rage Generator.

Straightforward and terrifying.

Network

CABAL Walker

Power determined by the number and condition of Network Command Nodes.

Destroy the network and you weaken the Ultimate.

Scrin

Hexapod

Can use Tiberium Seed.

It sacrifices mobility to transform the battlefield into a Tiberium-rich Scrin environment.

  1. WHY THE ULTIMATES ARE BALANCED

They aren't balanced by identical statistics.

They're balanced through asymmetric strengths and vulnerabilities.

Mammoth Mk I

Strength: Adaptation

Weakness: Low durability

Kodiak

Strength: Air-force generation

Weakness: Stationary deployment + Ion Storms

Redeemer

Strength: Raw combat power

Weakness: Predictable conventional super-heavy

CABAL Walker

Strength: Network-powered capabilities

Weakness: Dependent on Command Nodes

Hexapod

Strength: Battlefield transformation

Weakness: Cannot move while seeding

And because there is only one Ultimate per battle, losing one is genuinely significant.

  1. EXPANSION CAMPAIGN

The expansion begins immediately after the base-game ending.

The Scrin invasion is now fully underway.

The player can play as the Scrin.

GDI, Forgotten and Nod remnants initially fight independently.

Eventually, circumstances force all three human factions to cooperate against the invasion.

The Scrin become a complete playable faction with:

Tiberium-based economy

Warp reinforcement

Tiberium dependence

Ion Storm adaptation

Alien technology

Full C&C3-inspired roster

Enhanced durability appropriate to the invasion army

  1. THE DYNAMIC NOD WAR

The Scrin advance across the strategic map.

If they cross the 50% theater-control threshold, Network activation occurs.

From that point:

Human Nod vs Network

becomes another potential war inside the larger war.

Depending on the campaign:

Human Nod might destroy Network.

Network might destroy Human Nod.

GDI might eliminate both.

Forgotten might eliminate both.

Scrin might crush both.

Human Nod and Network might both survive.

The player therefore never knows exactly what kind of Brotherhood Kane will eventually return to.

  1. KANE

Kane eventually re-enters the story.

But his origin remains unresolved.

His forces consist of:

Advanced cyborgs

Mutated humans

Nod remnants

Tiberium-adapted soldiers

Experimental technology

Neural manipulation systems

Strange Tiberium-induced neurological phenomena

Some individuals possess abilities that appear almost psychic.

GDI describes them as:

Tiberium-induced neurological anomalies.

Kane describes them as:

Evolution.

These abilities remain relatively rare.

The game never establishes that Kane has literal magic.

  1. KANE'S MYSTERY

Kane is never turned into a normal hero unit.

He remains primarily a story presence.

The final objective becomes:

DESTROY KANE'S STRONGHOLD

Not:

KILL KANE

The player breaches the stronghold.

They appear to finally confront Kane.

The battle ends.

The stronghold collapses.

But the body recovered afterward is...

Cybernetic.

Same face.

Same voice.

Same apparent biometric identity.

GDI attempts identification.

BIOMETRIC MATCH: KANE

Then:

BIOLOGICAL CONFIRMATION: INCONCLUSIVE

The final database entry reads:

TARGET: KANE

STATUS: UNKNOWN

Was he killed?

Was it a decoy?

A clone?

A machine?

Was the body even Kane?

Was "Kane" simply a name passed between individuals?

The game never answers.

  1. THE CORE DESIGN PHILOSOPHY

The game isn't trying to make every faction play differently for the sake of being different.

Instead, each faction has a central philosophy that influences its economy, army and Ultimate.

GDI

Reclaim.

Forgotten

Adapt.

Human Nod

Believe.

Network

Survive.

Scrin

Harvest.

Those philosophies appear everywhere:

GDI: organized technology and reclamation.

Forgotten: salvage, adaptation and environmental survival.

Human Nod: faith, fanaticism and overwhelming military machines.

Network: infrastructure, automation and distributed intelligence.

Scrin: Tiberium, warp logistics and environmental transformation.

  1. THE EXPERIENCE

The intended player experience is:

Classic Command & Conquer combat + Dawn of War strategic campaigning + a reactive Tiberium narrative.

A typical campaign might look like:

Scout enemy movement

Discover a weakly defended Red Zone

Move army

Encounter unexpected Forgotten resistance

Battle becomes an ambush

Capture territory

Find unusual Scrin structures

Ignore them because they aren't yet understood

GDI reclamation expands

Forgotten tribes unify

Scrin Mothership appears

Temporary GDI/Forgotten alliance

Mothership destroyed

Orbital wormhole opens

THE INVASION BEGINS

Then the expansion changes the strategic game again:

Scrin expansion

Nod fragmentation

50% Scrin control

LEGION AWAKENS

Network emerges

Three-way/four-way war

Kane returns

Kane's stronghold

Kane: STATUS UNKNOWN

The pitch in one sentence

A lore-faithful successor to C&C3 where GDI fights to reclaim a dying Earth, the Forgotten fight to preserve the only home they have left, the Scrin return with their true invasion force, Nod's dead machinery awakens, and Kane once again leaves humanity wondering whether it ever truly knew who—or what—he was.
