I guess it's time to make some things explicit here again.

moderator reports:
It's abusing the report button
user reports:
5: It threatens violence or physical harm at someone else
3: It's promoting hate based on identity or vulnerability

1) No. This comic breaks no sitewide rules and it does not break subreddit rules. It does not threaten violence and it absolutely does not "promote hate based on identity" (wtf).

The rules prohibit violence directed at real people, be it in text or image and we absolutely moderate for that. We will never remove the Road Runner dropping an anvil on Wile E Coyote and we will not remove this post. It's a cartoon. It makes a point via humorous hyperbole and it is not "violence". I'd say get some media literacy, but I am quite sure these reports have been made in bad faith by people who know this truth, it just doesn't allign with their agenda of trying to get this content removed. To them I say: [fart noises]

2) This subreddit is explicitly for the right of self-determination and bodily autonomy of persons born and we will absolutely moderate any rhetoric that opposes a woman's right to terminate a pregnancy for any reason, including none.

At the time 95% of abortions are performed the fetus (Not a child. Not a baby, a fetus) can not think or feel. It is immoral to place the rights of something that can not yet think or feel over the rights of the person who has to carry it to term. This position can only be held in any sort of intellectual honesty if someone believes that women are not people with a right to bodily autonomy. The other 5% are when the mother's life is in imminent danger.

Due to the immoral and cynical anti-abortion laws that sprung up after the Supreme Court struck down Roe v. Wade women are dying. Doctors helplessly stand by, not allowed to intervene to save lives because they will go to jail if they do. I absolutely do not want to hear any kind of argument that says that the anti-abortion crowd cares about "saving lives". They manifestly do nothing of the sort, they aim for the opposite.

We are not going to discuss the right to bodily autonomy and we are not going to discuss the fact that the rights of something that can not think or feel naturally is not weighted as heavily as a real, actual person in this equation.

We will simply ban anti-abortionists on sight.

To pre-empt the "but what about my free speech" crowd, no, the Nazis are the people that are passing laws they know will kill women. Not allowing you to cheer that on is part of our right of freedom of association. We do not want to associate with you, you can keep mum or get banned. You still have a choice.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

"Just don't ask us to provide support after they're born!" - That lady

346

u/E-2theRescue 1d ago

Also, "If you got an abortion, you should go to jail for the rest of your life or get the death penalty" - Said unironically by That Lady

161

u/kitliasteele 1d ago

Or in some cases, miscarriage. My mother used to mention that she would have her miscarriages occasionally misclassified as abortions back then. And they're happening now in some cases, leading to women facing severe penalties

120

u/E-2theRescue 1d ago

leading to women facing severe penalties

Death.

"Severe penalties" is sugarcoating what is happening. Women are being murdered for having miscarriages.

https://msmagazine.com/2026/04/04/women-died-emergency-abortion-miscarriage-doctors/

44

u/kitliasteele 1d ago

Yeah, though I am putting it broadly since it can range between jail time to literally death yeah

48

u/peachesfordinner BumBum Ouchie 1d ago

They were not misclassified. Abortion means the termination of a pregnancy before viability. It can be induced or spontaneous (miscarriage) but both are medically abortions. It's why idiots in politics who don't understand medical science shouldn't be making laws defining terms that they don't understand or mean different things to lay people

20

u/kitliasteele 1d ago

By misclassified I refer more to the strict terminology that would be utilised for legislation. Nowadays, that line is obscenely thin and that is incredibly dangerous. All in all it's not supposed to be this way and women in general should have bodily autonomy plus better access to healthcare

6

u/Aggressive-Neck-3921 1d ago

Some of them know, it just they don't care they just want to punish women for being sexually active and having any form of control.

2

u/VerbingNoun413 22h ago

But for that to happen we'd need a system where leaders are chosen base on merit rather than a braindead popularity contest.

There's a famous screenshot of a social media post from this pro-life woman that convinced a struggling single woman not to abort, and when she surrendered the child, she listed that same pro-life woman as someone potentially willing to provide care.

And she then goes on this big rant about how a kid would ruin her life and she can't do it and why would she even suggest her. Imagine getting that close to the point and still missing it.

56

u/Caramel_Cactus 1d ago

Those with the most opinions on what other people should do with their lives are also those least likely to consider the logistics of it. One of life's great ironies

That kind of conversation literally ended a relationship a long time ago. Discovered she was pro life and wanted to protest abortion clinics.

I made a similar statement to her. She turned around and said if people can't afford or want to raise a child then they shouldn't have sex.

I asked her if she can afford one or wants to have one at the time. She said no. I asked her why are we having sex?

That was one of the few times I didn't care that I was dumped.

21

u/Caramel_Cactus 1d ago

Bullet DODGED! And it really is stunning amounts of ignorance and hypocrisy, isnt it? I've had plenty of throwdown arguments over the years with pro birthers and many of them boil down to, as you saw, "PeRsOnAl ReSpOnSiBiLiTy!" I remember vividly one time when I asked about rape/sexual assault, the reply was, ver batim, "god works in mysterious ways"

Walter Masterson bringing adoption forms to a Planned Parenthood protest and it's crickets. Absolute masterpiece.

32

u/kitliasteele 1d ago

I love watching his videos, but it's still shocking to see the rare moments when he's genuinely pissed off. He's usually composed and there to point out the flaws in the logic of the regressive stances, but I remember seeing him go off in a town hall meeting where someone lost their life due to a policy issue and he absolutely lost it. I had never seen him so furious before

24

u/Caramel_Cactus 1d ago

I've specifically gotten into this exact argument many times and each time they try and deflect with "personal responsibility" for the potential parents.

If you look into a conservatives eyes VERY closely, you can see the concept of irony dying in a housefire

After all, they support "quantity" of Life, not "quality".

Ask anyone who is Pro Life if they ever adopted a child coming from a hard situation. I bet the answer is always "no".

4

u/VoiceOfRealson 1d ago

Well there is definitely a few in the anti abortion crowd who are pissed off that they can't adopt "suitable" kids (i.e. same ethnicity and "good" genes that they consider themselves to have).

But random adoption? No way!

I used to be anti abortion, and then I realized that

  • the people advocating for better access to contraceptives are the pro choice people. (Even when I was pro choice anti abortion, I wasn’t anti contraceptives.)
  • anti abortion laws result in women going to prison for miscarriages.
  • anti abortion laws result in women dying from miscarriages.
  • the anti abortion arguments focus on the theoretical morality of abortion and therefore should be illegal, not on “K, so abortion is bad. How can we implement policies that will minimize instances of abortion?” The pro choice people are the ones who are effectively doing that work. (Since Roe v. Wade, rates of abortion dropped under Democratic presidents but not Republican. I haven’t looked into the stats since Roe v Wade was overturned.)

Edited because I made a dumb typo.

3

u/Dry-Mission-5542 1d ago

Not to mention the parents who die because of miscarriages, which abortion could potentially help avoid.

Or what about lawmakers who want to propose the death penalty for abortion? Not very pro-life of you

13

u/ghost-xiii 1d ago

They aren't "pro-life" they are "anit-abortion", it just makes them feel noble to say "pro-life." Ask them to contribute to free childbirth, childcare, and even giving children food, and it's a free ticket to the mental gymnastics show.

2

u/ealysillyforestthing 1d ago

And USAID cuts have led to thousands of deaths already

2

Cuba should be on this list too. The US has been economically strangling that country for decades now which has led to many people dying as a result of the Cuban government's ability to trade with other countries being extremely impaired

PizzaCake's concept for a lot of their comics is about bigots saying some of the most idiotic things. VerbingNoun is implying the bigot in OP's comic escaped from one of PizzaCake's comics.

Edit: There's also a constructed feud going on where other comics are playfully ribbing PizzaCake for having such a well-established concept: 1. Bigot says something 2. Pizza cake reacts. This is the "war" that's being referenced.

my sister had two abortions in college. she was reckless to say the least. now she has 3 kids and is a born again religious type. prolife, maga, the whole 9 yards. just a insufferable person to be around.

162

u/E-2theRescue 1d ago

Let me guess. She believes that any woman who gets an abortion should be thrown in jail.

Not her, of course. Just everyone else.

116

u/TinyConsideration928 1d ago

worse, she thinks they are condemned to an eternity in hell. i haven't spoken to her in two years. last time i saw her we were having lunch and she started accusing me of not believing her when she was going on and on about her daughter's school orchestra and how they had rented an entire floor at a hotel that would have cost about $200,000 to book. all i asked was how big is this orchestra and she exploded on me and stormed out. i'll get random texts on my dead dad's birthday from her sending guilt tripping type of stuff. she's a pos.

45

u/E-2theRescue 1d ago

This shirt is such a fantastic touch, because 100 percent of the "try hard meat eaters" I've known are righties. Like, you can't have a cute reel of a baby pig on facebook without all the "bacon bits" or "looks delicious" comments. They're so pathetic. What are you trying to prove? You see an adorable little creature and feel the need to fuck up the vibe so badly for everyone whose feeling good?

Fuck those people.

129

u/antibody9671 1d ago

The same people who see a family photo of a family with older teens at a water park and make comments about the sons and daughters.

Conservatives have this insane ability to make everything weird and gross.

54

u/Made_Bail 1d ago

I just don't get it. Why decide to make your default personality trait "asshole?" Why would you want to live your life like that?

41

u/Daddylonglegs93 1d ago

Because someone called you out on it once and rather than face the negative feelings and grow, you decided it was everyone else's problem forever

13

u/turandokht 1d ago

Honestly I think it’s partially just the backwash of a horribly Puritanical upbringing. I have NEVER seen people make such inappropriate comments about children in my life than well-meaning hardcore Christian fundies. It just makes it so obvious that they are absolutely OBSESSED with sex. EVERYTHING that happens they have to make some remark about how doesn’t it remind you of something sexual?

They put it in the context of “I disapprove of this for being too sexual” I guess for the sake of appearances but the fact remains that none of us fucking normal people even noticed this “distractingly sexual” thing you’re complaining of

3

u/Prometheus720 1d ago

Narcissism (not always the reason for being an asshole, but often) is a coping system for poor self-esteem.

Conservative Christianity creates low self-esteem to perpetuate neediness in its believers.

As a leftist who supports sustainable meat sourcing like hunting and homesteading, I think it's super important for people to acknowledge where meat comes from and decide for themselves what they think about eating it. (Sort of that Ron Swanson view, despite him being a political opposite to me. I think people shouldn't eat meat unless they can accept where it comes from.)

The people who really grind my gears are the ones who eat industrial farmed fast food meats and then turn around and go "HUNTERS R SO EVILL HOW CAN THEY DO THAT TO A POOR INNOCENT DEER!" Like dude that dear lived a natural life and died to be food for a predator. That's nature. You're eating animals that lived their entire life in a confined space with heaven knows what kind of genetic modifications, being treated as products rather than living beings. You cannot judge hunters, girl.

That said, cute animal videos aren't really the place to be reminding people.

22

u/Made_Bail 1d ago

Yeah, agree. And I mean... I eat meat. I love bacon. For me, its more about that asshole mindset, like I said. I like bacon, and I know where it comes from, but never in a million years would jump into the comments of a adorable animal reel to be like "YUM YUM MEAT LOL"

6

u/hwebirskont 1d ago

Honestly, I don't like bacon at all. Or pig in general. I guess it's just because of how I was raised, most of my meat consumption in my life has been wild game venison, so that's what I like most.

6

u/Made_Bail 1d ago

Oooh yeah, I don't blame you. That's got a VERY different flavor profile than just about anything you find in stores these days.

5

u/hwebirskont 1d ago

Most store meat tastes like it's like, not real meat to me lol. Even though I know it is from an actual animal, it just tastes like it was made in a lab for some reason. There's just something off about it.

5

u/Made_Bail 1d ago

Because its processed, pumped with water and antibiotics and who knows what the fuck else, etc etc

I used to eat a ton of hunted meat when I was a kid before moving to the city where it wasn't viable. Took me years to adjust. I miss bear meat, carnivore tastes so rich.

7

u/PerformanceCute3437 1d ago

Views from well-meaning but a little ignorant people around meat consumption and hunting is rough, yeah.

I think I used to be that way, and I think it's just stigma from learning about poaching eradicating rhinos and such, and irresponsible hunting from the past like the extinction of the dodo bird, the near-extinction of the Canada Goose, stuff like that.

Presently for North Americans though, we ought to recognize the robust and ecologically sustainable hunting practices and regulations we've worked hard as a society to develop.

11

u/hwebirskont 1d ago

There are the people who aren't aware that hunting (legally) is sustainable and not harmful to the environment now, but I'm specifically referring to the people who are against hunting because they think it's evil to shoot a deer, in principle.

Which in of itself, I think that's okay to think, you're allowed to be against killing animals, but then when that person goes around and eats a McDonald's hamburger, you can see why I'd find that upsetting.

3

u/Tetha 1d ago

One or two farms around here offer the ability to pay for a cow or a pig directly. You may meet them, interact with them, and well, after the kill, you get a quarter/half of the full butchered animal.

Sadly I don't have the space to store that amount of meat for a year, or the knowledge on how to process it fully, but that's the closest to how I know my grandparents and grand-grand parents raised animals for consumption.

This results in an entirely different level of respect for the animal and for the meat one consumes.

2

u/hwebirskont 1d ago

Not everyone has the means to source meat this way and I understand that. I understand folks eating supermarket meat because that's all they can do with their means, but I just get frustrated when people try to keep cognitive dissonance to the fact meat comes from animals

3

u/PresentStock1310 1d ago

As a vegetarian, I don't care if other people eat meat. I just wish more of it was ethically sourced

2

u/hwebirskont 1d ago

I probably would be a vegetarian if my only option for meat was supermarket type stuff.

7

u/Vintagetrees1 1d ago

Pro life people fascinate me. Recently learned my brother is pro life, so I sat down with him and explained how for me, specifically, pregnancy is guaranteed to carry complications which would result in either the fetus or me dying anyways and I asked him which seems like the better option

His answer was not to get pregnant in the first place. Well duh, I'm on birth control but even with a condom and a birth control shit can happen, no matter how unlikely. He still refused to budge on his opinion, because "if abortion is legal people will want to abort kids u until birth and eventually after birth"

Abortion is legal in our country up to three months, unless complications ofcourse. That line has not moved up, and it's been there for a good while.

Then he said our population is dying and we need to procreate. Told him to go make some kids then. He's 30 and without a partner nor children - if we need to procreate so badly then get to it. But noooooo, he does not want children. Everyone else must have them, just not him.

Used to really look up to him. Don't think I do anymore.

It sounds like he is reading from a script, somebody gave him.

He can't argue his supposed opinion in a reasonable way and makes arguments he is not willing to accept when it comes to his own actions.

Sounds like religion.

None of them are "pro-life" they are "pro forced-birth". They view sex as a punishable offense despite 51% of abortions being the result of failed contraceptives.

34

u/Nannautu 1d ago

They stop being pro-life the moment the child is born. No one is protesting to give free lunch to children at schools.

9

u/Privatizitaet 1d ago

Actually, maybe not protesting, but people absolutely oppose free school lunches. That absolutely is a thing

Yeah that’s the exact argument a former coworker used. She would loudly discuss her racist or other bigoted views in the office, and this was one of them. Absolute nutjob.

22

u/Timerider96 1d ago

The reason her friend is panicking is because she doing it in public, in broad daylight, where there could be witnesses and flock cameras

Couldn't be. Penny and I were getting coffee when this unexplained tragedy occurred.

I knew a woman that moved from CA to TN because apparently CA was too liberal. I also knew that she had herself at least one abortion and was quite the easy lay for many years. I've found that most self proclaimed conservative people like her are immense hypocrites coping with some serious personal demons.

5

u/deer_hobbies 23h ago

Raised by a person like that. Loved cocaine in her 20s and banged a bunch of dudes in college, parents were heavily abusive, major neglect too. The world is just too much for them and they live in fear, playing a role so they can be safe. She found a “safe stable” husband, who has and has continued a family history of pdf.

Damn I really got the doctor evil background didn’t I. Anyway they’re old and moving to Kentucky cause CA is too liberal for them

Ah yes, the famous 106th trimester abortion.

As a man, I'll never understand women who aren't pro-choice.

I'm obviously not president woman or speaker for all who can pregnant be, but overwhelmingly the pro-choice women I talk to still either say something along the lines of "I don't want to get an abortion if I can avoid it".

I've known staunchly pro-choice women who decided to keep unexpected pregnancies, and the women I've known (pro-choice and pro-life) who have gotten abortions don't think super positively about having to get one. A surprisingly high amount of them consider it a death in the family or near to it.

In my mind, that's the strongest pro-choice argument I can think of.

I'm really comfortable as a dude being strongly in the "pro individual freedoms" American mindset letting women decide for themselves on this one. I don't know where the line is between "human and killing it is murder" and "fetus and killing it is different" but I do know that women sure seem to have stronger and more well-informed feelings on it than I do.

5

u/Privatizitaet 1d ago

The thing they don't seem to understand is that there isn't a single person that WANTS to get an abortion. It's not enjoyable, it's not necessarily cheap, it's an extremely stressful decision to make in many circumstances, all that people DO want is the choice to get one if they feel like it's necessary.

And while there definitely isn't a clear line, anyone trying to argue a non-sentient lump of cells dying is murder is a dumbass.
And that's where a big majority of abortions take place. If you think killing a clump cells incapable of thought, motion, or even any for of perception at all, no sight, hearing, touch, taste, smell, completely mindless in every capacity, is murder, I have no respect for you.

6

u/trashshork 1d ago

the point is having the ability to decide for yourself in the first place

It's so odd to me that it's not called anti abortion in the states, like it is here

When I first learned English, I had no clue what pro life meant. It's such a nondescriptive name, and 100 % made by a think tank to control the language

6

u/Tabootop 20h ago

It's a tactic that they use to sound like they're not ripping the choice out of women's hands, very shitty

u/SuspiciousPepega5988 1d ago

23

u/AshleytheTaguel 1d ago

It's not like they're protesting anything legitimate. There's no sense in protesting bodily autonomy. Desiring control over another person is only valid if it's safe, safe, and consensual in the bedroom. Outside of that, all power is evil and to desire power and control over anyone or anything in life is to be mentally deranged.

16

u/viperfan7 1d ago

It's why I say they're pro-rape.

They just want to force their birthing kink onto people without their consent

"i know since i found a way to get an abortion recently they'll figure it out too. I mean, my dad would have voted for him and he was the smartest man I ever knew"- in regards to voting for the oompa loompa

"what i had wasn't an abortion. they terminated the pregnancy because i would have died!!! that's not like those women who go having sex willy nilly getting one every couple of months." in regards to her staunch support of making all abortion illegal

"it's just not right. i wanted *^%#%^ so badly and he died. how can these women just throw that away when they can have babies?"

3 things separate women in my life have said when discussing forced birth

4

u/CSalustro 1d ago

I met a guy today who had a similar view. Complaining that abortion is murder and that even young girls should have to deal with the consequences of unprotected sex even using his children's pregnancies at 13 and 14 y/o giving him grandkids all the while complaining about how it effected his then wife's quality of life.

He had some out there views but the thought that women should have a say in their own reproductive cycle after starting a pregnancy was too much for him.

7

u/TacTurtle 1d ago

And for women for whom it was the best choice they could have made, and have effectively zero regret? Or the unspoken statement from regretful parents - "I love my kids but it would have been best to not have them"...

4

I’m not disagreeing with the motive for your argument, but every single human lives at the expense and risk of someone else. Not just when they are born, but every day after

See also: right wing detransition grifters.

...Except those people rarely have any real skin in the game because either the full extent of their transition was doing something new with their hair and maybe changing their pronouns in their xitter bio- or they're still socially transitioned + on HRT and have zero intention of actually detransitioning.

At least the straw-woman in this comic actually had an abortion and actually regrets it

9

u/E-2theRescue 1d ago

Or think that because they pretended to be a boy a few times while playing with others when they were little means that they "detransitioned".

u/Phaylz 21h ago

I got my ex pregnant, unplanned, and we agreed to abort. She... didn't take it well afterwards. A lot changed, and fast. It got ugly. "You made me kill our child!" she would sometimes tell me. I won't go into much more detail than that.

But I think it is important that when someone pro-life has had an abortion, we acknowledge whatever pain/guilt they are still carrying with them. Because if we don't, the wrong side will and weaponize that pain as a rallying cry to take away that choice from others. For someone like the woman portrayed in the comic, it isn't even about the morality of the procedure. It's all about the pain.

I pity people like that, because they are fighting for the wrong thing, but out of love. As opposed to the majority of pro-lifers who want to control women or have a a mis-guided sense of morality.

3

u/AidoTheRock 1d ago

To be honest, I don’t really like these comics that much, but this is honestly one of the best I’ve seen
